Chapter 21 - Back to the Village

By the time Sagar had managed to fully dissipate his feelings upon both the Experts from the group the sun was starting to lower in the sky. When he had clarity of mind he started to look back at what he had done and felt somewhat disgusted at himself.

Even if he doesn't remember any personal memories from his past life he was sure that he had done nothing of this sort in it. Mind you he didn't mind that he had mercilessly slaughtered the entire group along with torturing the one's leading them. He was more troubled by the ease and willingness he showed in his cruel actions.

It made him sort of sick thinking about it but he pushed that to the back of his mind as he didn't really have much energy to think right now. He was exhausted, both mentally and physically at the moment. He could use some of the points he had gathered from destroying the group to buy some items to help him recover but he wanted to save up for more important things at the moment and while he did have some stock he bought from some time ago he would wait until it was needed to us it.

He made his way back to the cavern leisurely as he didn't have to worry about the safety of the villagers inside the cavern. Before he left on his rampage he made sure to leave behind Pyro Jack and Badb Catha as defensive measures in case some group he didn't know about came back.

Both of the demons would have no trouble fighting someone at the Intermediate level by themselves and working together they could even fend off a Expert level warrior or mage.

While he was walking Sagar reflected on how his anger affected him during this fight. For example when he rushed and tried to trade blows with the leader of the group. Normally Sagar wouldn't try such a up front approach especially with someone of the leader's size. Sagar had cast as much buffs as he could on himself before they became redundant and his strength still fell behind the leader's. Not only that but his smaller stature lead to him getting knocked back allowing for everybody to rain down attacks on him almost killing him even.

Luckily his vitality was high so not only was his natural defenses high the amount of punishment he could receive was tremendous as well. He still needed to use 'Deathtouch' to drain some life from the fellow who approached him so that he could not only be able to retain his consciousness but also charge his next attack 'Heat Wave'.

He managed to reach the cavern about thirty minutes later and he was still immersed in his thoughts until he started smelling the stench of blood. Looking around he saw several other corpses besides the ones he had beheaded before he entered the cave.

"Hee Ho!", Pyro Jack waved around his lantern jovially probably because he was able to fight for the first time in quite a bit of time.

Badb Catha was simply cleaning her wings before she noticed who showed up crying out to Sagar as if telling him that they accomplished their mission.

Sagar nodded and gave them another order which was to guard not only him but the rest of villagers from any sort of beast that draws near them. They both registered the order with Badb Catha flying off and Pyro Jack slowing receding into the shadows.

Sagar then made his way back into the cavern to gather all the villagers and take them back to Mountain Village as he didn't really know where else to take them to be honest. The Village Chief is a kind man to guests as long as they choose to eventually leave he won't treat them too coldly.

When Sagar came back to the storage room he saw that everyone was gathered there and were ready to move. He was kind of surprised to see that they trusted him enough just based on his word but it wasn't like they had much options anyway and Sagar wasn't going to complain about it.

The woman who had talked to him earlier approached him with a questioning look on her face. Sagar didn't need to hear out what she wanted to say as he could already guess what it would be so he simply nodded his head saying, "Your captors have all been killed."

Not only did the woman hear him but so did everyone else, they seemed shocked for a moment having a blank stare but suddenly they all started to cry. This was especially so for the people that were in the last room Sagar found they sounded to be the loudest out of everyone.

Sagar waited for everyone to calm their nerves before getting everyone up to leave the place they had known as their personal hell. Before making his way out of the cavern Sagar spoke out to everyone mainly the women.

"When we come out of this cavern there will be some unsightly things out there so I want to ask if you could cover the children's eyes as they've already seen enough as it is."

They all agreed even the women who had no light in their eyes and looked utterly hopeless helped out with this endeavor as there were more children then there was women. Only a few children denied this service mainly the older ones as they couldn't care less for such sights currently.

When making their way out of the cavern the first thing that those who could see were the headless corpses of the ones in charge of guarding the cavern. Moving their sight elsewhere they saw bodies in different conditions as some were burnt to a crisp while other seemed to have been torn apart by something sharp.

The one who save them wasn't lying when he said it was unsightly but none of the one's who saw this felt sick or anything from this sight. If anything there was a wisp of joy within seeing the one's that put them through such things in this condition.

After passing through all the bodies the women covering children's eyes released their hands while the one's who had their eyes uncovered tried looking around but say nothing but the dense forest around them.

Getting closer to the entrance of the village Sagar's voice rang out, "The place I'm taking is Mountain Village, it's where I live and it's the only place I could think of to bring everyone I hope you don't mind."

It was kind of a stupid question as nobody in this group really had a place to return to. There was a chance that maybe some of the people in their villages survived but they weren't sure and they would rather go somewhere they were sure they would have shelter. At a later date they would try to find out whatever they could but for now they were tired and just wanted some rest.

Since no one voiced any concerns Sagar just continued his way to the entrance so he could have the guards get the Chief for him.
