Chapter 34 - Visits and strangers do not get along

Sebastian continued walking through the valley while the night slowly became present and the stars began to be seen in the sky, the humanoids seemed to be accustomed to that beautiful sky since they did not pay much attention to it, on the other hand these two humanoids, were constantly looking around, as if they felt threatened, although they could not really see anything since the skeleton archers were in charge of killing anything that came within 50 meters of the group.

Strangely the tall plants of the valley were perfect hiding places, but even so no creature was present which worried Sebastian a little because usually an uninhabited area could only mean two things, a predator controlling the area or the area was unable to sustain life of other beings, luckily none of the two options was correct, there were no signs that a larger predator was inhabiting the area and the sea water, strangely it was sweet, which allowed the life of both the land creatures and the of the sea, a strange situation without doubt and at the same time intriguing.

Perhaps the very fact that no creature inhabited that valley, was the reason why plants could grow to such a size, but suddenly tracks were found on the ground which were similar to those of a human being, Sebastian was not alone in that valley.

The two humanoids suddenly began to make gestures with their hands and shouting some strange words that Sebastian could not understand, but by the gestures of his arms crossing them again and again, he could understand that it meant "Do not attack" what made Sebastian hide behind a dragon slayer skeleton which raised his shield and nailed it to the ground to protect himself and Sebastian.

The archer skeletons had already been prepared to use "Rain of arrows" in certain areas in which they felt hostile presences, but did not shoot immediately until they attacked first, to give them a reason to strike back, the skeletons learned to think before Act.

Several seconds passed and no attack was made against the skeletons or mascots of Sebastian, but he began to hear how some plants were being moved while something was approaching them, suddenly a group of 3 individuals similar to the two young humanoids were present, emerging from between the plants, they were at least 2.50 tall, long, poorly groomed hair, faces and body with spots of dirt and plants, bows, arrows and daggers on their body, all ready to be used and their bodies were toned, probably of the constant movement and the simple fact of living in that place.

Sebastian had no way to communicate with the visitors, but he still had the two young humanoids who seemed to understand him, but he did not want to make the situation look like a hostage taking, so he ordered the dragon-slayer skeleton to delicately lower the two humanoids and let them go.

"I do not want problems, they both just got too close to my colleagues without warning and suffered minor injuries." Sebastian shouted trying to avoid that the situation exploded in a rain of arrows and even more knowing that the skeletons would not have mercy with the attackers.

The two humanoids arrived with the three adults who began to check their bodies and noticed the wounds, two of the three adults raised their bows and began to speak again in that strange language, but the skeletons did not stay still and quickly prepared themselves, the two adults who had prepared their bows suddenly lowered them, seeing the huge swords that the dragon slayer skeletons possessed, although who in fact gave more fear was the lords of death or rather "Ladies of death" who smiled under their tunics showing their skulls which gave off a strange green glow.

The third humanoid adult raised both hands leaving his bow and dagger on the ground trying to calm the situation, although the skeletons of Sebastian seemed to be about to explode.

"Enough is enough, you will have time to fight, but now is not the time." Sebastian said calming the skeletons trying to relax everyone on their side, fortunately everyone calmed down in a short time and peace returned to the valley.

Moments later Sebastian was being guided to what seemed to be the base camp of the humanoids, the appearance of the place was quite simple and rustic, although strangely, all the structures present seemed to be in repair, as if they had suffered a storm recently or An attack on his camp, Sebastian decided to stick to the storm option, since he saw no other living creature in the valley except for those five humanoids.

The inhabitants of the camp seemed to be in mourning, as some inhabitants left flowers in front of collapsed structures, the storm option was discarded when Sebastian observed a female humanoid crying over the body of another humanoid who had a sword stuck in his chest.

Sebastian continued to observe more and more graves recently dug in the place, without a doubt had suffered an attack by humans, since near the tombs there was a pile of human corpses which had varieties of armors and weapons.

Sebastian unwittingly came to what appeared to be a large tent, like that of an Indian, inside this tent there was an old humanoid woman who kept her eyes closed and was surrounded by flowers.

"The spirits of the dead and the living, no doubt speak of you, walker of the night." The old woman said without turning around.

Sebastian was very confused at that time, but decided to remain silent as he did not understand the current situation of the place, the only thing he knew, was that he wanted to help as much as possible, however trivial the task, Sebastian felt sorry, to see young creatures die in such a way, whether they were human or not.

"I apologize, but I do not understand what you mean, could you explain me in more detail?" Sebastian remained respectful to the old woman.

"A dragon, a colossus, wandering spirits, devourers of sand, the rock serpent, goblins, kobolds and many other creatures, fell into your hands and only two of them were forgiven, one was for pity and the other for unconscious greed or ¿Was just innocent curiosity? " The old woman replied, mentioning the creatures that Sebastian had murdered before and the two he had fought with and fled in exchange for one bow and another for pity.

"...The spirits do not lie young hunter of beasts, but we are not here to talk about your prey ... I need help, your help, my children, my people are seen as slaves, simple prizes and I want that to end, but I require you to soil your hands with the blood of your own kind. " The old woman said making Sebastian understand that he needed to kill other humans.

"...I do not think I can do that, a human is a human, no matter how serious their crimes are, they are still human." Sebastian tried to reason with the old woman, but she responded differently.

"A human being would not kill another one who is unarmed and helpless, they stopped being human, they are already monsters and the monsters must be killed, my daughter was a toy for them and my son was a temporary entertainment for them, I want to see the blood of those humans scattered in this valley! " The old woman said between laments trying to get the help of Sebastian who was increasingly convinced.

Sebastian got up and ran out of the store, only to find the reality outside, the reality that these humanoids were suffering, assassinations without any sense, abuses, Sebastian tried to find reason in the actions of other humans, but He did not find any, no reason in such actions, Sebastian began to feel like everything around him was consumed by the darkness, the smoke was becoming more and more dense around him, and he felt as if something or someone was clenching his neck preventing him from breathing.

At that time Sebastian was brought back to reality by a humanoid who appeared to be a girl of a apparent 10 years of age with a cut on her face, leaving her permanently blind in one eye, the blood was already dry indicating that the cut had not been done a long time ago.

"I want my brother back, I want my mother to come back..." The little girl said crying blood from her injured eye, causing Sebastian to finally forget all reasoning.

"They are no longer human..." Sebastian said unconsciously, while the girl continued to cry.

Sebastian put his hand on the girl's shoulder trying to calm her down and gave her a smile.

"Do not worry, I'll take care that your mother and your brother return safely." Sebastian said, looking into the darkness, knowing that it was impossible to track the attackers in the dark, so he decided to stay still until the sun came out in the first hour of the morning.

Sebastian went back to the tent where the old woman was and spoke to her privately for a while preparing a plan, but this plan could only be used in the morning of the next day.

Sebastian finished his conversation with the old woman and disconnected, preparing his watch at 4 in the morning, to prepare for a long day.
