Chapter 37 - Sawed arrows (3)

"Your partner just left you, I suggest you give up at once." Sebastian said having his bow tensed with two arrows pointing at the bandit leader, who seemed to be getting nervous.

The bandit leader was surprised to see how his faithful companion and friend had left him, which made him feel angry at that moment, so it seemed that he was willing to die fighting, as he took out his ax which he held with both hands.

"Come on, there are a total of six arrows pointing at you right now, one step and I'll kill you, so just throw yourself to the ground and stay there." Sebastian said, trying to avoid spilling more blood than had already been spilled.

The bandit leader remained motionless staring into Sebastian's eyes until he sighed and dropped the ax to the ground with both hands in the air in surrender.

"I have to free the elves, if you want to go, you are free, but pray that we will not meet again." Sebastian told the bandit leader who was at that moment more shocked by the abandonment of his companion than the destruction of his camp.

Sebastian approached the cage and observed the lock while one of the elves with two small pieces of metal, similar to a pair of lock picks, trying to open the lock, Sebastian made a sign with his hands so that they left and took the door of the cage which detached without any problem.

"I could get used to this being super strong." Sebastian said throwing the door of the cage to the ground, allowing the elves to leave.

The elves left the cage one by one, having trouble walking because some of them had severe wounds on their bodies, which clearly indicated the abuse they suffered from the bandits, Sebastian on the other hand had nothing to heal his wounds except for the medicinal plants, which were not processed, which turned out to be useless in the state they were.

At that time the three elves who had accompanied Sebastian were present and along with others who were previously caged began to check the bodies, while those who were injured remained sitting pressing the wounds they had, some of the injuries were not serious, but obviously these looked very painful since the cuts seemed to be deep, which could easily get infected.

Sebastian decided to help and began to review the camp, each of the boxes had many varied things inside them, from small colored stones which could be considered precious stones, plants which surely had some medicinal property, but most of the plants inside the boxes did not appear in Sebastian's book, so he decided to keep them all.

The other boxes, contained stones of different colors, but these were of very poor quality and their colors were unusual, turquoise, purple, dark, gray and other colors that were not usual to find in precious stones, these also stayed in the Sebastian inventory, although there were no more than 30 of them.

The boxes in the camp easily exceeded 100 units, most of which were full of rubbish, very vaguely excavated stones which still contained a precious stone without extracting them, Sebastian very lazily decided to keep them too, storing at least 50 stones He looked more like a garbage collector than a player at the time.

The precious stones of unusual colors turned out to be of the same type of those that Sebastian had bought in the market which could create fire, although between more diverse the colors, different were the effects that these stones did, for example the stone of turquoise shot a ray which did not seem to cause damage, no doubt a strange rock with no useful use.

For the moment Sebastian managed to find healing potions which could be obtained by the market or created, but their color was different, instead of a red color, the color was slightly purple and a notification appeared in front of Sebastian to have the potion in his hand, recognizing the said object.

[poison for pests]

Being affected by this poison loses 7% of its health every second for 11 seconds

[Strange potion created from blue scorpion venom from the mountains]

[Handle with extreme care] (Object commonly used to kill vermin and creatures that attack farms.)

Sebastian remained silent and decided to keep the three potions in his inventory, just for the doubts.

The review of the camp lasted a long time and the elves managed to find healing potions, although some of these were broken and with very little content inside them, but it was better than having nothing and leaving the elves suffering, the other remaining boxes in the camp they had weapons inside them, which were of normal and uncommon quality, but none of them could match or surpass the damage that the bow Sebastian had, so he decided to leave the weapons to the elves.

"They did not even serve to make me level up." Sebastian said that the bandits did not even help him level up, although Josh and Saphira had another opinion, since the two young behemoths went up to level 6,

The two little behemoths were not present at the moment since Sebastian had not invoked them, so he decided that it would be a good time to invoke them.

Sebastian made a gesture with his hand and the two behemoths appeared from the floor and began to search the entire place looking like a pair of dogs looking for evidence at a crime scene.

The elves that were still healthy equipped themselves with the weapons and armor that were in the boxes and corpses of the bandits, without even mind that the previous owners of those objects were dead on the ground, when they finished all the elves began to load the boxes on the wagons by pulling them in two by two shifts leaving the camp that an elf promptly set fire with a spell.

The bandit camp slowly began to collapse due to the fire, leaving behind a huge column of smoke which indicated the total destruction of the bandit camp, although Sebastian remembered the bandit that he had let escape, the leading bandit at no time showed his face, as if it had disappeared with the wind.

"I hope I do not regret my decision." Sebastian said looking into the distance as the camp burned.

Sebastian at that time recalled that the plants near the camp could cause a huge fire, but this for some strange reason did not happen, at that time the wind was not blowing so the fire did not move in any direction and somehow the plants it did not seem like they were going to be affected by the fire, no doubt a strange place, Sebastian thought.

The trip to the elven camp was silent, no elf seemed in a good mood, those who were badly wounded mounted on the wagons, their faces showed pain and grief and others smiled, being grateful to have survived and be rescued before being sold to the empire for never to be found again.

"... I will talk to the old woman to finish the mission and then continue my journey, the day is young and the sun is still present in the sky, I hope the trip does not take so long." Sebastian said with his hand on his waist and the other covering his eyes looking at the sun.

...

...

...

2 hours later.

The trip took an extra hour than expected due to the strong heat since the elves had to push the carts in turns, so many decided to stop and rest and recover their strength, fortunately the carts had a roof with a cloth which blocked Sun.

Sebastian stood watching everything around and noticed that Josh and Saphira were not with him, but were checking the surrounding bushes, just out of sheer curiosity.

"Do not get away from you two, I'm not young enough to be running after you." Sebastian said scratching his head.

The trip continued after a while of rest by the elves and Sebastian took the opportunity to cook some meat for them to eat, unfortunately the meat of the colossus did not seem very appetizing to the elves, all of them rejected the meat, perhaps because appearance or color, Sebastian had no idea why they refused to eat the meat, even though he had fed the other two young elves with meat.

The arrival to the camp was silent and little acclaimed, many elves still mourned the dead of the previous night so it was obvious that nothing and no one was going to change the mood they had.

Sebastian decided to talk to the old woman who was in the store waiting for him.

"Excuse me." Sebastian said in a low voice, running to the side of the fabric that covered the entrance to the store.

"It seems that the hunt has ended, but not all the prisoners have been caught, two of them have fled, and I am afraid that these two will seek revenge for their lost herd and you are responsible for it." The old woman said in a voice that showed clear irritation and disappointment.

"There has already been too much blood, both innocent and guilty and this beautiful valley was dyed red, orange and black today, you should be grateful that all your people are still here." Sebastian responded respectfully to the old woman.

"I tried to offer them food and your people reject it, try to offer a hand with my companions, and they also refused, I think it would be better to leave this matter in the past, the two bandits that escaped will surely be far away from here." Sebastian said.

On the return trip Sebastian called his skeletons to use the dragon slayer skeletons to pull the car, but the elves quickly refused and the skeletons walked for ten minutes at the same speed as Sebastian until they disappeared, so the trip ended taking longer than necessary.

Sebastian obviously would not receive anything and did not want anything from the old elf, only wanted to help them, but it seemed that his help in the end only came to help someone with a deep hatred for humans, a hatred easy to hide, but difficult to forget.

Sebastian turned around leaving and began to walk, planning to continue his journey, his goal remained the same, to explore all the beauty of the world, although the beauty of that world also hid the suffering of others.

An elf approached Sebastian and left a small piece of cloth on the floor, where there was a note and a strange rock, the elf ran out leaving Sebastian alone and a notification appeared in front of him.

[The mission: Freedom or Death is over]

[You have been rewarded with a rock belonging to a young elf who will remember your good deed and your kindness.]

[You have been rewarded with a "thank-you" note from the young elf who will not forget you]

A smile appeared on the face of Sebastian who began to walk slowly away from the elven camp.

"Josh, Saphira, let's go!" Sebastian said loudly leaving while the two behemoths followed him closely.
