Chapter 38 - A Suspicious Shadow

Mandy silently have her peaceful seat inside the room, when it came suddenly to an end. It never occured to her thought that the rulers would exchange seat with her previous seatmates. That made most of her classmates wondered but they stop talking about it when the rulers gave them a glance. 'What a power indeed, that they can control them with just one look.' Mandy thought as she watched them secretly.

'Are they going to watch me closely? I thought they clearly state, they would never tail her closely like a watchdog? If that's the case, I really did not get their full approval in staying here.' It made Mandy disappointed at the thought.

After the sabin incident, the rulers were wondering why her unique aura was suddenly gone. Throughout their observation to her from that time was still the same. As if all of it was dried out from her. One common question remains to them; what can she really do?

Even after their class, when she head out to have her lunch, the rulers would still surround her which they would eventually lead her to their usual place. Mandy could only go wherever they will lead her. She have her seat between them, which made her sat across Morgan.

"You can freely talk in here Mandy, since the glass walls are sound proof." Drake state beside her, while browsing in a menu. He definitely knew she's confused why they were watching over her now, so he waited for her to ask.

"Why are you guys doing these things?" Mandy asked, looking at them with her brows knitted.

"If only you could just show us what- " Vanisa was cut off by Drake, he intervened before she could blurt what Mandy already struggled to know. Vanisa have an impatient attitude sometimes.

"It would be better if we're together with you in most of the time, in order for you to feel comfortable when your training will resume. It would make your training to go smoothly." He said before typing in his phone his order. All the other did the same, except for Mandy. Drake help her with the trouble she had in ordering her food. It made the other rulers with them wondered why the two seems close.

Mandy felt their stares, so she immediately sat properly. Drake who was carefree just ignored it and went to play a game in his phone while waiting for their food to arrive.

"Well, since you took such a long break in your training, your sleeping hours would be shorten since after the afternoon class you'll be having your training with us." Selena stated.

"Add to that the Periodical Exam was also in the third week of this month." Falcon added.

"Since you are placed to the first section, many expectation was thrown at you from the students which they belong too." Vanisa was emphasizing the word expectation to her. Mandy felt a little nervous in what they have said, since its been a long time when she had an exam. Is it the same when the time she first entered the academy? She have no idea what kind of periodical exam they have, since so far they have lecture and practical activities in their class. Since she entered late in the actual start of class, she was obviously behind them, so she must try harder. She also wondered if the rulers would really help her? How would they help her? She recall most of her previous life, but it was still not helpful to her for the exam.

"Don't worry Mandy, we've already talked about on the task for training you and for it not to be conflicted with your studies." Drake assured Mandy since he noticed the struggle in Mandy's face. Mandy exhaled deeply, feeling relieved on Drake's words.

Finally, their food arrived. Mandy never dared to talk as they have their lunch. The way they gracefully ate their food made Mandy out of place. 'What a really well mannered royalties.' she thought.

Afternoon class was too short, Mandy was readying herself to leave.

"Don't forget Mandy, 5pm... In the usual place." Drake reminded her before they leave her behind. They have different dorms, so they separated ways.

Along her way to her dorm, Morgan was tailing her since he noticed a shadow was following her behind. The shadow never noticed Morgan was behind, so he continued to follow Mandy. Mandy suddenly felt a chill behind her so she looked behind her, but she could only see a bunch of trees and students who was chatting together in many groups. She shrugged the thought of having a sudden chill.

As she went back to walk, in the dark part of the forest which covered by a thick bush, there was two figure moving. One was trying to breakfree while the other one was holding his prey tightly. Slowly the one struggling feel asleep, so he securedly put a bind in the prey and brought it with him.

Morgan was waiting for the creature to wake up. He already entered the mind of the creature and confirmed it was spying on Mandy. But as he tried to see who was behind it, the vision of the creature became unclear.

"Good, you're finally awake." he started, he saw the creature's face became pale, as if he just saw such a horrible scene.

"Please forgive me, I just do what I was ask for." he begged, while started to cry.

"I will if you tell me who sent you?" He directly asked.

"No, please I can't...I must not tell." He cried even harder, Morgan snort at the thought of his words.

"I must say I admired your loyalty to whoever that is. But, I can't guarantee you that I can let you off this easily." Morgan stated, he started to manipulate his mind.

"... " he opened his mouth without a sound. As he waited for him to speak, blood suddenly came out from its mouth endlessly. Morgan was taken aback to what just happen. Its clear to him now that the creature behind it was too powerful to make such a curse to its followers.

In the end, the creature was lifeless and of no use to him since it was dead. He brought the dead creature and push it to a furnace. He incinerate it before it could do anything else and trace by the leader of it.

He watched as the body slowly crumble, a black smoke came out from it. He watched it as it leaves. 'Whoever is behind this, We must prepare for the worst' Morgan said to himself.
