Jason was definitely done for the day, the call his mother had made was the cherry on top of the cake. He had worked his mind off getting every finally detail in place so that he would be able to juggle the new role that he had been creating and still manage this whole branch without too much stress. With the major work out of the way he could have time to himself and for himself.
Picking up his court he left the office, this was time for his first day in his new home. Amy told him that she had wanted to come by and drop off a home warming gift but he really only wanted peace and quiet. Who knew Natalie's robotic being was contagious after all.
Jason walked to the underground parking and looked around for a while because he had no idea where the vehicle he had the keys to was parked. Natalie had someone deliver it and so he had no idea where it was. That and this was his first time in the ordinary level parking area. After spotting the backlights of the vehicle beeping die to the button he pressed on his keys, he walked over and stepped in. Atleast this would blend in well with the rest, the last thing he needed was to stand out.
JK Corporation was mainly a vehicle manufacturing company even though it had many well built in investments and other products other than what it was really established for.
The whole company was an idea his father had managed to materialize over the past Thirty-three years. His sweat and blood whent into the founding of this all and Jason was expected to offer nothing less than the best. Good thing he was good at it too, from the very beginning Jason had always shown an incomparable interest in all his father ever did. He loved to get his hands greasy and could pull almost any vehicle apart to the very basic from and build it all back again. This was his passion and he would change that for the world. It was one of the things he leaned back on when the world around him became too overbearing.
Driving into the new neighbor hood he was now renting an apartment in, Jason parked in the lot that his landlady had shown him the previous day when he was here with Amy. He stepped out of the car and walked to the back to get his clothing bag and a potted plant that he bought the other day. If there was one thing he was good at it would be fitting in, but truth be told this was one of the most difficult role he had to play yet.
All his life when ever his father gave him a ' sentence' It was one that always maintained his usual lifestyle. When no one knew what the heir to a wealthy family looked like you could get away with almost anything. A fake ID and background story created by his faithfully, Natalie, was enough to satisfy peoples curiosity. Besides in a city well known for its celebrity highlife and a good percentage of the population being ranked among the elites of society there was a need for a certain bit of worldly reality a little play pretend right, to be like the ordinary for even a second was a blessing at times.
Jason just got onto the elevator, listening to music through his headphones, with the doors about to close when a girl shouted to hold it for her. He almost stretched out his arm when but remembered that he was holding a whole gathering of the things he had taken form his car, so he used his foot to stop the doors.
" Much thanks, you really saved me a wait back there, I hope I didn't bother you I mean you already have so much in your hands, here let me help lift the weight off, its the least that I can do." The woman said all of this without giving chance for Jason to fix in a reply so he instead smiled politly because despite the urge to tell her it wasn't heavy at all, which it wasn't, he thought the best way to play the role of ordinary, almost middle class citizen would be to let her do so.
"You must be the new neighbor that we have been expecting, hi I'm Rachael, nice to meet you, I live on the last floor of this building...."
Through the rest of the conversation, completely one sided, Rachael explained how she was a high school student, with a single dad who meant the world to her. Jason also found out most of her hobbies were reading teen celebrity gossip, texting, partying though not old enough yet and that her favorite food was chilli chicken noodle soup that her father made. All this in four minutes, The kid must have run on a fuel that people like him often wished they had when they were getting through a normal everyday work day.
Rachael was a girl of about maybe fifteen, hair dyed pink at the tips and an adorable face.
Jason found himself genuinely amused.
When the doors opened onto the floor that hosted both their apartments they both walked out and towards their respective apartments. She was still talking about the two other families that lived on their floor and their behaviour.
" Alright here we are, I must say I'm really happy to be the first one to personally welcome you here, I thought someone else would beat me to it, you know school and all I'm not always around, it's going to be awesome having a new neighbor, we are all family and now you are one of us."
When he put his stuff down on the floor to free his hands so he could take his keys out a d open the door, Jason heard a gasp from the girl besides him. His face registered alarm as her looked around himself to make sure nothing was out of place even though he was always extra careful. A bug in his hair, torn sleeve.... an open trouser zipper maybe...?
" Wow! Who knew you would be really handsome! I mean I was hopping so but gosh your just.... Wow." Her head was tilted to the side with one of her pig tails slightly covering one side of her face because of the position. Her school uniform of short skirts and glitter personalised bow tie with a jacket and cute Teddy Bear backpack in pink really made her look adorable.
Jason had heard from countless women about how good-looking he was hell some of his male friends had the guts to say it too, it. never made him big headed though, just aware, this comment caught him off guard though and all he could do in response was smile and thank her for all the help. Rachael skipped on down the corridor to the next door and opened to walk in when she remebered something.
"Ohh right how silly of me!,"
she hit her palm to her head,
" I forgot to ask your name."
Jason almost laughed out loud before replying,
" Jason."
Jason could get away with using his real first. Ame but not his last it was easier that way. He wasn't going to tell his last made up name as he hated it. You can always count on Natalie to get her revenge for going behind her back one way or another. He then graced Rachael with another smile and stepped into his apartment. His eyes looking it over this was definitely not what he was used to, but what he was used to was a challenge and he never backed out.
