Dinner with Timmy was amazing they talked about a lot of things work related and not much on the emotional side. It was like that with Timmy he may have had the body and looks but at heart he really was a geek. That was the main reason that all through out university he found himself with only Amanda, their relationship always progressed much slower than all their friends and for that they received a lot of mixed feelings from people around them.
Amanda had her friends admire her at times saying she was lucky to have a boyfriend that never pressured her into having sex and seemed most content with just spending valuable time with her. Sometimes her and Timmy's relationship seemed to be more of a business partnership than what others expected it to be. This brought her worry, she knew very little about him as compared to how much he knew about her, its not that she didn't trust him but one starts to feel vulnerable in a relationship when only they are willing to open up about themselves.
Timmy was a great cook and for a girl that was a definite bonus in a guy it made the meal even more enjoyable and appreciated. After they both finished eating and were helping each other clean up it was very late.
" Are you sure its okay to go home this late? I mean it really isn't a problem if you stay over, you won't be out for work tomorrow and you could stay in for as long as you like."
Amanda was saying to Timmy hopping her voice didnt tell anything that her mind was actually thinking as she peeped under her lashes at him from where he stood drying the dishes.
He didn't seem to think about it for long then he nodded his head in agreement. Amanda felt strangely relieved at that and then it hit her, was he supposed to sleep on the couch or in her bed? The two had been dating for five months and a year now, in that time neither one had ever spent a night at either ones place. This was the part where Amanda felt like a naïve child and wished she could ask Amora for help or better still get Timmy's view on this matter by reading his mind.
' So what to do now help prepare the couch for him or is he going to share my bed with me?'
Amanda thought to herself but before she could think much longer Timmy spoke.
" Would you like to watch a movie before bed? We could put some covers on the floor and sort of camp out there?"
Amanda breathed a sigh of relief,
" That would be great!"
He gave a small smile and headed to the living room to pick out a movie, Amanda latter joined him and they both sat on her soft carpet with some blankets spread out to make it more comfortable. Amanda started to doze by the time the end credits came on, her eyes failed to stay open for long, Timmy wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer so her head rested on his lap. With a soft lips pressing onto her forehead as her last conscious feeling, Amanda drifted asleep with ease.
.....
Amanda was beautiful Timmy knew all too well, his friends at university always spoke of her looks and perfect body. Her lips were so soft and tasted sweet, her skin flawless and smooth as a pearl and her hair spilled out as dark as night when let loose. The thing is he saw that she didn't know just how beautiful she was. She often walked with her head low and no confidence in her step. The number of guys he had to keep off her through her first few years of university was something She would never know. How was She supoosed to know that he had fallen for her the very first moment he lay eyes on her. It had taken him ages to pic up the courage to do so, but then back home things became harder and even more pressure was put on him to take place as provider as soon as possible for his family after the passing of his father. Timmy's hands balled into fists as he remembering his loss and hating how hardened his heart had become by it.
The woman laying in his arms was the only comfort that he had. It was true that he almost never spoke of his family towards her but even growing up he was never big on trust. Timmy had planned Many times to open up to her but failed each attempt. Now he doubted her even more.
She wasn't the type to accept gifts from people too easily, even from her own sister and yet Timmy started to notice, from the moment she had her accident, that her very simple not so expensive makeup and bag which she carried that day had been replaced by designer brands. Not to mention the room that she stayed in was a top class VIP room and he knew all too well that it wasn't her sister nor the company she worked for that had payed for it because when he went down to offer to pay for it the nurses told him it was already covered. They also made sure to give him a detailed account of what had happened that day. Timmy also didn't miss how instead of being completely taken by him when he was around her, like she always was, she instead spaced off.
Watching Amanda sleep on his lap Timmy started to regret all the time he spent working and not spending with her instead. Maybe she started searching for attention, that he clearly knew he wasn't giving her, from someone else. He never once had any doubts about her ever cheating on him or even laying eyes on another man but this made him look at things from a new perspective.
Was there another man in her life? Could it be that in a city full of celebrities his woman had been seeing someone else beside him? Maybe someone who could give her all the luxuries that every woman, as far as he had seen, everything she desired in wealth? Time?
He loved her and he had never truly loved anyone as much as he did her and if there was another man in her life, which he hoped against, then he wouldn't give up without a fight.
