Amanda was still processing the fact that a company such as RJ was involved in a project whose sole aim was to help the vulnerable and 'not-so-well-to-do' people in society. They were a ruthless, corporate company who's main agenda was to grow in both popularity and wealth letting nothing stand in their way. In all its existence they had never taken a part in any sort of Charity.
"Now, now Amanda do you really not believe that even the most evil of them all can change?"
Yes she was talking to herself, yes she was definitely alone in her apartment not another soul nearby that could answer that question, but from her last encounter with them, Amanda had learnt all she needed to know about the extent of their cruelty.
"Nope not at all. They are definitely doing this for the popularity or to win over the easily fooled hearts of the masses nothing more. I mean look at the smug look on her face."
By this time a woman-spokes person was finishing up her speech at the opening ceremony. The brown haired pale skinned beauty who could pass more for a model than spokes person for anything other than cosmetics advertisements and all, stood proud with a bright smile after handing over a pack of toys to one of the kids at the local orphanage.
"... -It is an honor to be able to give to the people that have also given to us. We would not be here if it weren't for all of them."
Amanda sat trying to snap back to reality maybe that was all just her dreaming up things. She must have hit her head really hard Mrs Clocksworth's words rang in her ears, but she was a hundred percent sure after looking very closely at the woman that that was RJ CEO's only daughter.
Just how desperate are they to go as far as letting the CEO's daughter to head this movement. Did Amanda miss something?
Standing from the couch and almost tripping face flat to the floor, Amanda shook her head vigorously. She wasn't going to let this whole thing mess with her head not again not ever.
" Better let the past stay where it belongs."
Amanda walked to the kitchen having lost appetite for her 'comforter' and bending to the lower part of her fridge she placed what was left of the tub of ice cream and walked over to the bathroom after tidying up the living room and kitchen before she did.
After a hot shower and brushing her teeth she changed for bed and lay among the many pillows that kept on her bed. After two hours if twisting and turning in her bed she dumped all but one of the pillows onto the floor and settled down to sleep.
Her phone lit up indicating a message, Amanda picked it up and saw that it was from Thomas.
" I hope you got home safely, eat something and take a rest, I know your not a fan of a proper meal but try to put something solid into your stomach. You need your strength and health too."
Amanda felt guilty because the whole day the only meal she had was the breakfast served to her from the hospital and the spoons of ice cream. She didn't want to lie more make him worried so she replied,
"I did travel home safely, Okay I will have a proper meal, and I hope you had a good day?"
She sent her reply and Thomas's got back almost immediately.
" It was okay, tiring, but okay."
From his response, Amanda decide he must be tired and it would be better to let him rest for the following day. besides she had work the next day too.
" Goodnight, sleep tight." she wrote.
This time his response took longer.
" Goodnight..."
Looking at it justified her resolution earlier.
Amanda lay down again and though it took long she fell into a deep sleep.

Jason sat behind his desk signing the last of the documents that lay on it. In the past two and a half days he had managed to accomplish the work that he had set out to do in the first five days that he had been in city Y. He had also managed to create and put in play a project that had been taking shape pretty well aimed at assisting the number of sales the company received.
One of the downfalls of the branch here in City Y was that the image of the company was going contrary to what it was supposed to be from the beginning, the population had began to view it in all the wrong ways and before that affected their products on the market he had to fix it. Hence the project that had already began taking effect.
Involving themselves in charity aimed at developing broken down infrastructure and improving local services was one step towards rebuilding the company's image and win over the years of many who had long given up on them. Just the start.
Natalie didn't seem to think that was his only reason though, she stood close by to pick up the last document he had signed before starting to walk out of the office with all her things. He knew her mind was overworking itself thinking of what his other motive might be .
" Congratulations, you've completed a workload that would take another person assigned to this role more than two months to solve and two more to put together. What pushed you so hard?"
He gave a playful smile, his previous serious expression melting away to reveal a handsome carefree man that could melt any woman's heart, but not Natalie's she was so well composed.
" I thought you would hold your questions in forever, I never expected that you wouldn't be happy about the whole development though," At his response she gave a ' you know what I mean' stare.
Seeing her reaction his smile fell and his face became went back to what it was before.
" A little inspiration and some fresh air that's all."
Natalie wasnt satisfied with his answer but she didn't protest and instead took her leave after a short goodbye.
Jason walked to the tall windows and looked down losing himself in the crowd. His thoughts wandered back to her. He really thought it would have rolled of his back by now, the whole incident with the person he called his 'inspiration' and 'fresh air'.
"Humph. You do know how to keep a man thinking about you Ms Walsh."
