Nefertiri was tipping on her laptop still looking for information that was really good hidden. Scar was walking from one side to another slowly irritating the white haired girl.
"Could you just stop it?"
"No!"
"Well it's not going to change anything if you are going to stress about it."
"I know! But he… you know what you did"
"Yeah I saved his life" responded Nefertiri.
"But he's not the same as before and you know it." Scar was still panicking after their discovery.
Nefertiri was taking in the information better than Scar or Ruby she was the one who did the said "damage".
"He's better than before."
"If you think so."
"Of course I do."
"But changing the topic of our conversation, can you tell me more about the hottie from the mall?" Scar hummed excited.
"I don't know much but there seems to be a connection between us."
"You're joking!" Scar couldn't believe another thing. This day couldn't be more exciting and confusing at once.
"Am not. It seemed as if there was some warmth in my neck spreading when he touched me."
"O.MY.GOD! Don't tell me he was your soulmate!"
"It was that feeling like in the books you know?"
"Oh honey believe me I know that feeling." She smiled like a cat that found her pray.
"But I was so confused at that time. I was so absorbed in our job that I couldn't concentrate on him entirely."
Scar hugged Nefertiri sensing her distress, she was just worried if they wouldn't meet again.
"He gave you his number." Scar was wiggling her eyebrows to her with some suggestions in mind.
Nefertiri was trying to recall that feeling of warmth in her body spreading to her neck.
"Scar, I think there is already a mark at the back of my neck."
Scar stopped everything she was doing and looked at her not believing her ears.
"No way! This time you have to be joking with me!" Nefertiri was turning her head to one side then another showing she was not. "Weeelll everything is possible"
Nefertiri heard something, the whisper was not loud enough for her to know what was said.
"I think he is going to wake up."
"Can I start to panic already?"
"You're already at it!"
"Ok!" Argh!"
The voices started to chant to her again, the information she was getting was confusing. It was too noisy again she just couldn't comprehend this gift of hers.
"I think he's going to take the information god enough for us not to fear that he's going to faint."
"You sure? Because I'm not."
Nefertiri just though about the things that happened at the mall.
Shortie did get the antidote but he was seriously wounded. He needed to stand in the mall with the experiments for the virus not to change him in the walking dead. He was already half alive but did his best to help them as the new member of the team. He did a pretty good job with the plan he made. But he still almost died trying his best.
To further save his life she needed to heal him resurfacing his hidden gene.
He's unconscious right now, lying on a bed in the hospital under the "game" name. Hopefully everything is going to be good.
Nefertiri started to play with her long white hair thinking about the mysterious man from the mall. They still got time before Shortie wakes up.
"Scar, can you please check my neck for any marks?" Nefertiri was looking at the short haired girl with hope. Maybe she was wrong and reading too much into it. She didn't know if she really found her mate, no one can explain how it feels. The contact with bare skin is the most important but she didn't get any of it. There wasn't skin to skin touch, sadly she couldn't be sure about anything.
Scar looked at her with curiosity in her eyes she can't wait any longer to check her best friends neck. There are really many weird things happening in the tribe. The debate about staying hidden from the human race and revealing their existence has still not ended. So if she found her mate and he was human it's going to be really hard on her.
The short haired girl moved closer to her with stars in her eyes reflecting her thrill for knowing the truth. Nefertiri was sitting with her back to Scar, she took her hair away showing the fair skin of her neck clearly showing some marking that wasn't quite complete but it was really there.
Her friend gasped in amazement that she didn't hold on and scared a little bit the white haired girl. Her blue eyes started to glow faintly due to the bottled up emotions. What should she think about this whole situation?
"And? Is there something or not?" She wasn't able to wait any longer from the stress her hair is going to fall out that's it. She's going to be bald with all the things happening right now.
"There is a mark." Stated her best friend.
"So at least I know that there is something!"
"But it's not complete." Scar told her the truth. "Should I take a picture for you to see it?"
"You should know that the mark is not always visible for electronic devices."
"Riiight, I forgot about it ehehehe."
They went back to the waiting for Ruby and Cecile if the guy wakes up before they come it's going to be a disaster. Never mind telling him the truth if they didn't get the ok from the elders. The situation didn't look favorable for them it's just one giant mess.
"Do you think I did something really wrong changing him?"
"Nefertiri, I can't tell if it was right or wrong, he was dying and there was no other option."
"He's from an almost extinct race." She whispered worried about it.
"If we can we will going to help him."
"What if he feels disgusted with his circumstance?" Nefertiri was starting to worry about the short guy even if he was her height he was a shorty for Ruby. She wouldn't know how to explain the emotions she was feeling. She felt it was the right thing to awaken his gene but he could see it differently.
The voices were there again saying that she should end what she started. The awakened presence of the gene halfway it didn't mean he can use it and they wanted him to. They said he needs to fulfill his destiny and revive his race again. He needs to find everyone and bring them together so they could find their mate in the same circle of genes.
Nefertiri was getting tired it was just too loud for her to handle. She couldn't remember when was the last time she was feeling like this so hopeless and lost. They always gave her the answers but they didn't want to talk to her about her mate or didn't even mention the location of the facility. She was getting frustrated and tired. It was getting louder and louder the whispers were changing to be loud screams and discussions. They were having a fight with themselfs discussing some matters she didn't quite understand. Too much information was circulating for her to comprehend what is happening. After struggling to stay awake she started to see darkness in front of her eyes. She just knew this can't get any worse than it is.
