Chapter 35 - 33. EXPOSED

Leseli joined the medic who was having a tough time with injured people. The ambulance had not yet left because these were people with minor injuries. However, they looked very scared. First Les thought it was because of what they have encountered earlier, though she couldn't say exactly what it was they experienced.

After almost ten minutes of trying to calm down a man who looked around 40years, she realised something. Why were these people the only ones creating trouble? There were about five of them and their modus was exactly the same. One would act in pain and the four would shout and ask if they would go through the same pain. As they cried, they glowed. Instead of normal worry that would be laced on the faces of people who experienced a near death experience.

Les had to ask from which section these people came from. Although she knew that they would offer distorted replies as they wanted to go to the hospital claiming they suffered serious blows.

"Please sir calm down. From which section did you come from? "she asked calmly.

The man however looked Les from head to toe and said sarcastically: uh, so even Congolese are now doctors in our country, what a joke!"

"Sir, I don't like to argue with you. Yes, I am African who is a student doctor. Please answer what I asked you."

Before the man could reply the woman who looked around mid-twenties wailed loudly.

"wooooo, what a joke. They brought monkeys and offered them better opportunities while we are left only to attend tables."

The medic was enraged. However, Les told him to continue to attend the noisy bunch as she had to check for some pain killers. Immediately she went to the officer who earlier talked to Molemo.

"sir, with all due respect, that ambulance cannot leave."

"Hey miss, please save me some energy. Why would anyone bear that noise?"

As a doctor I realized that the wounds on those people are artificial. They are too noisy for anyone in pain and above all, their faces don't show worry that comes with what you described earlier. Therefore, I believe they are actually people you must be arresting."

The officers who were busy around them, both police and firemen looked at her as if she had gone nuts.

"Miss, it's my duty to…..."

Before he could finish whatever he was saying, he looked over to the bunch who were around and in the ambulance. One of them was sneaking to the driver's seat.

"Damn it!! What the heck is this idiot doing."

He rushed over to the ambulance.

'He looked young to be in authority of the police, however he is very observant.' Les made a mental note. But having noticed how worked up he was, she followed him, afraid that he would show them that he was aware of they were.

However, the man simply said "please sir, you do not look well to drive. Let me assign this duty to the ambulance's driver.

The man looked at him with a smirk and said it looks like you do not care about our health since we are lowly workers. You have been busy and were are here suffering."

"forgive me sir for that. I'll make sure your wounds are attended."

He ordered the driver to go ahead, however he also ordered the dispatch of six police vehicles to escort the ambulance.

They all glowered on the police stupidity thinking they got away with it.

Little did they know that what awaited them was different from their expectations.
