Chapter 1 - They are back [EDITED]

What is the most powerful tool in the world? For some people, it is money. For others, it is love. However, the thing that really makes the world work is knowledge. If you have the knowledge, you can get as much power as you want. And with power,... well, you are on top of the world.

There is no such thing as good or bad knowledge, but people with good or bad intentions. That is why it is why the Library was created in the first place: to protect and keep knowledge safe form those who have bad intentions.

The Library is an institution connected to different worlds. Lead by the Librarian, both Seekers and Scriveners are the ones who fight against those who want to destroy the status quo, the balance between good and evil. These are known as the Dark Clan.

But let's not precipitate, shall we? This story begins with the arrival of two sisters to Forgotten Town.

Here they are. The girls. They have arrived at a land where pure magic could be sensed in the air. At a town, their ancestor gave their lives for. At their house, where every Drakos have lived until that event, eight years before. But now, they are here: Leah and Eva Drakos, the last of the Drakos' bloodline.

Although they are sisters, they are quite different. Leah, the eldest of the sisters, has jet-black hair, silver-gray eyes, and a mischievous smile. She is outgoing, though clumsy, and always ready to have a good time. On the other hand, Eva is a redhead with beautiful violet eyes. She is really stubborn but very intelligent.

Eva was looking at the house.

They had to leave the last one because of this crazy idea Leah had: to return to the family house in Forgotten Town, where all the magical misfits could find a place to be themselves. Or at least that is what the sign before entering the town says. The truth is that the place where the town is settled is the boundary between their world and yours. The non-magical world.

Eva kept staring at the house.

The house seemed not only old but abandoned as well. It was a two-story house, with a porch on the first floor and a balcony on the second floor. The color of the facade was dirty-brown, instead of the white, it used to be. In addition, one of the windows on the second floor was hanging. Well, all the windows were broken.

With a snap of the fingers, Leah started to change the outside of the house, returning it to its past glory. This way is much faster than those TV shows that remodel houses.

"You're just bragging," Eva said rolling her eyes to her sister as she went inside the house.

"And you're just jealous because your powers haven't awakened yet," Leah said following her.

Like outside, the inside of the house was also changing. New furniture replaced old ones. Floor and walls were refurbished, without losing the feeling of belonging, of returning home. Eva turned towards her sister.

"Yeah, just rub more salt into the wound. Thanks," Eva said pretty hurt and turns back.

You may not know this, but witches don't always have their powers. They awake when the witch arrives at puberty and since Eva was eighteen, it meant that she should have them a long time ago. But she didn't.

"Ev. You know I didn't say it like that. One of the reasons we've come is to know—," Leah said to Eva's back.

"To know how to fix me," Eva interrupted her.

"How many times do I have to tell you that you're not broken!" Leah said quite altered. This was not the first time they had this discussion, and for sure it won't be the last. "Who knows, maybe you're just cursed."

"Ha, ha. You're so funny!" Eva said.

Eva turned to see the result. Now the house looked like if it had always had people living in, and not being abandoned for years.

"Well, what do you think?" Leah said trying to change the subject.

"It is like if nothing has happened," Eva said. 'Like if that terrible night didn't happen,' thought while going upstairs. "I'm going to my bedroom."

"Hey! Please, put your things in their place. Your bags and stuff are already there but they are not tidied up," Leah yelled near the stair so that her sister could hear her.

Eva's only answer was closing the door of her room carelessly.

Leah sighed. She didn't know what to do with her dear little sister. She was a grown-up now, but she still behaved like a child.

Leah decided to head to the kitchen to prepare some food, when she stopped. Something inside her was telling her that things were going to change. And that change was coming to their door.

She looked at the door for a few seconds, trying to understand that feeling. She shook her head. 'What else could happen?' she thought as she turns against to the kitchen.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Someone was at the door.
