Chapter 2 - The Library [EDITED]

Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Someone was at the door.

Leah, still worried about heavy feeling from before, slowly approached the door.

When she opened the door, a young man was standing there, looking at everything but her. He is quite handsome but too young for her.

"Hello. You are...," Leah asked but stops since she really did not know who this man was.

"Oh, hi! I'm Lucien, son of Jordun and Meredelle. I'm here to welcome you."

"Wait! You're a werewolf!"

"Yes, but we prefer shifters," Lucien corrected while taking a step forward, so he could have a better look of the inside of the house. However, he could not move too much as Leah was in front of him. This did not stop him from trying to get inside.

It looked like he was looking for someone. In fact, he didn't know exactly what he was looking for. But he knew that, whatever it was, he could find it inside of that house. Or at least that was what his wolf said, and he was never wrong. In that house, there was something that was his. Something precious that he really needed.

"Did you come alone?" he said. He hoped that the answer was 'no'.

"Oh, no," Leah said, happy that he had changed the subject. "My sis—"

Leah started saying when a loud noise came from upstairs.

Boom!

"—ter is upstairs. Wait a moment," Leah said. She walked away from the door, not closing it, and approached to the stairs. There, she yelled, "Eva? Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine. Everything is fine. Just…", Eva started saying as she went downstairs but stopped when she saw a guy at the door. A handsome one.

As cheesy as it may sound, the first thing that she noticed was his eyes. Not his height (very tall), nor his body shape (fit and muscular), but his eyes. Vivid green eyes with a little bit of yellow around the pupils. It was quite a contrast with his brunet hair.

"Hi?" Eva said a little insecure, as she saw how the guy started walking towards her.

Then he stopped. In front of her.

"Hi. I'm Lucien," he said while he bent down, took her hand and kissed it.

He glanced at her in a lazy way, happy that he had finally found what he was looking for even though he didn't know it. The precious thing he needed the most is her. A beautiful redhead who would soon be his. It may seem a little possessive, but it was what happened with swifter Alphas.

He kept looking at her as if fearing that if he looked away or blinks, she would disappear, as he said, "It's a pleasure to meet you."

However, Leah, who had been enjoying the scene, realized that her sister had something in her hands.

"Sorry to interrupt this sweet exchange but, what is that?" she said while pointing to Eva's hand.

"Oh, this? I find it in my room. It's a letter, but it doesn't say who wrote it," she said as she handed the paper over to Leah.

The paper looked old, with a yellowish color. However, the ink seemed to be fresh but dried. Leah scanned the letter, looking for some clue of who was the writer. She turned the letter, but there was nothing written at the back. Then, she shook her head.

"I don't get it. Here only says 'All your answers will be given by the Library' and then an address. What Library?" Leah said, trying to figure out what could that mean.

Suddenly, she turned and looked at her sister with a wicked smile.

"Oh, no! Don't look at me like that! I know what you are thinking. Do you want answers? Fine, here is mine: no," Eva warned.

"Oh, come on. It will be fun," Leah tried to convince her.

"Maybe I can help. I may or may not know how to go to the Library. In fact, I should be there in an hour," Lucien said stepping forward but still staring to Eva.

Both Lucien and Leah stared at Eva, hoping that she would give in. With these two looking at her, Eva could only conceal.

"Okay, I will go. But let me first grab my bag."

Fifteen minutes later, they arrived at an impressive building.

"Whoa, what a view!" Leah exclaimed.

It looked like one of those temples that non-magical beings constructed. On the facade, four white marble columns stood out, two on each side of the large entrance through which a giant could pass. A large wooden door blocked them. It looked robust, even if it seemed to be thousands of years old.

"We are here. What do we do now?" Eva asked, not quite happy. She didn't understand what they were doing here.

"You sure are quite an anxious one," Lucien joked as he touched her forehead with a finger. Then, unwillingly, he moved away form her, pressed the palm of his hand at the door and said something that both sisters didn't understand. The door opened and, turning around to face Leah and Eva, he said with a smile, "Now, we just enter. Ladies first."

The two sisters looked at each other. Then, they looked at the door. They looked at each other again but before facing the door again, they took each other's hand really hard.

Then, they took a step forward to the door and what they saw when they crossed the door took their breath away.
