Then moment Agnes stepped inside the cafe, a waft of engulfing aroma hit her straight in the face. She shivered and groaned silently, it was so enticing.
"Delicious... wahhh~ I'm excited already!" Agnes said while swallowing the saliva that's threatening to come out. The food here must be so mouthwatering! You can smell the deliciousness from a mile away~
She's like a puppy waiting for a treat. She hurriedly found a place to sit and ordered their recommended dish. Agnes tried to slowly chew but the moment she took the first bite, nevermind the second bite. She ordered for seconds and for the passing time that she was there, her table became full of assorted dishes with visibly clean plates placed on top of the other.
"How long will she stay here? At this rate the restaurant will have to close up because all of the berries are out of stock and all the icecream have been served to her." The chef gulped nervously while failing to maintain his composure. This young lady was too much, its only 5 p.m., his shop was supposed to close at 9 p.m., as much as he's happy that she's buying almost all of his entire dish, he couldn't allow almost everything to go out of stock.
He was the very chef to his own restaurant. He wanted to bring joy to the faces of his customers, however, his store was still a newly launched cafe, he wasn't prepared for this kind of situation.
His restaurant still had a long queue, not to mention they still had plenty of customers to serve.
He couldn't help but cry silently. He contemplated to himself, that young lady was surprisingly slender but she just had to have such a big appetite.
How much does she need to fill up that wormhole of a stomach? Either she uses laxatives to throw all of that up or she has an extremely fast metabolism... He had no idea, still, he hopes that she would somehow slow down and quickly finish eating.
People still kept coming, at this rate he will have to apologize to all of them for suddenly retracting his words without any prior notice. He made a few of them wait afterall. Undoubtedly his customers will be annoyed, maybe even blaming his lack of preparation and spread word that his restaurant has bad management. The chef was sweating profusely, he was not at all prepared for such a development to occur.
A loud ring interrupted his train of thought and the young lady suddenly picked up her phone before she dropped her spoon to the barely there parfait.
"Hello Mom?" Agnes answered her mother's call. "Sweetie, I just saw your text just now. Be careful on you're way home. I heard there's been fights breaking out in the alley near your school. Don't keep me waiting and hurry home immediately." Talisa didn't leave any room for any argument and commanded her daughter. "Of course, love you mom." Whatever Agnes heard, whether she was deaf to the commanding tone or simply clueless... Talisa was speechless. Agnes was simply too thick skinned. Shamelessly saying those endearing words without even batting an eye, even if she loved hearing the word, overusing it can become annoying.
Talisa grumbled and blew a sigh of agitation "Just be careful sweetie. I'm just... Mommy loves you." Before she would be unable to control herself, she decisively turned off her phone, cutting off Agnes.
Agnes looked at her phone and decided to leave since her mother was worried sick.
She quickly finishes her parfait then signalled the waiter for the bill. The waiter hurriedly went to accommodate her and she left, albeit unwillingly.
Agnes was clueless to the mess she left behind and the chef who was beyond overjoyed.
Looking at the bustling crowd, she places her bag to the front, in case any pickpockets were around then she went along the trail leading to her home.
Passing through pedestrians, she continued to walk along the way and saw the alley her mother was talking about. She was about to pass by but she saw a glimpse of her brother's face. He was alone surrounded by men who wore a different kind of uniform. To make matters worst, they were even showing evil grins and cocky smiles while holding baseball bats and sharp knives. It didn't take her a minute before she understood the situation. She followed them and saw the scene unfolding in the worst case scenario.
