Alessandro is surrounded, yet Agnes saw that he's completely calm despite the situation at hand.
The group of gangster-like teenagers had the built of those muscular dudes who went to the gym a lot and they wore excessively arrogant faces.
Alessandro's only advantage is his height. Agnes was panicking, in her's perspective even though her brother stood at the frame of 183 centimeters, she felt that he won't be able to defend his own. Not to mention he was so skinny, physically only skin and bones. She was scared that perhaps he was being bullied in school. Now he was being isolated and physically abused.
Agnes felt like she failed as the older sister. One of those gangster-like dude raises his baseball bat high into to air and struck heavily down aiming for Alessandro's head. Regret filled her heart and rage fuelled her thinking. Those unruly kids, they dare bully this one's younger brother? How dare they?!
Without thinking or forming a good escape plan in her head, she recklessly ran hoping to somehow salvage her brother's life. Agnes was seething while she ran at the top of her lungs. Those unruly bunch of *beep* *beep*, they were too much, actually resorting to violence.
Perhaps those unruly boys were too occupied to notice her that they solely placed their full attention into her brother. They didn't even pay any attention to her so she took advantage of it and immediately kicked for the groin of the nearest kid she could see.
A loud thud resonated and the fallen kid groaned in pain, much to her surprise however was that the loud thud that she heard was the fallen baseball bat now broken in the pavement and her brother's perfectly intact face. Not to mention his glowing brown eyes were so intimidating that she had to back away from fear.
She tried to get away but the guy that she kicked in the groin earlier gripped her ankle and pulled her into his direction.
"You f*** b***!" He cursed loudly while attempting to break Agnes' foot. His strength was simply unbelievably strong that Agnes were pulled in by the force. She tried to get away but no matter what she did, she just couldn't break free. He smirked evily and his eyes glowed as well. He was about to cripple her but a strange blue fire enveloped his hands and suddenly he hollered in pain.
Violently writhing in pain he let Agnes go and tried to put out the fire. Much to his disappointment, it only grew bigger and bigger like it had a mind of its own.
Shocked to the bones, Agnes was petrified as she saw the scene unfolding in front of her eyes. Blue fire blazed the bodies of the fallen beaten up gangster-like dudes that was supposedly with the upper hand of having advantage in numbers and physical features. They were still alive though, struggling to put off the flames as they writhe in pain.
"Let's go." Alessandro suddenly appears before her and he grabbed her wrist to get her away from the scenario that could permanently scar her life.
Agnes followed her brother, no matter who or what he is. They were still siblings and he'll always be her younger brother. Despite of the circumstances that she was kept in the dark. She knew that he was still the same guy... Only with superpowers.
What bothered her however were the nagging feeling of familiarity and the way her brother handled the situation, completely unfazed and calculative. He acted as if all of these were completely normal.
Agnes felt this string of anxiety deep within her. She saw what happened with her very own eyes, however it just so impossible. In her point of view just from the situation beforehand, obviously it was not his first time showing that kind of skill. It was like he already mastered the skill and practiced it his whole life. Which was impossible in Agnes' point of view. How come she didn't notice it until now?
She didn't know. She was clueless, she would probably still be left in the dark if she hadn't followed him in the alley.
They walked fast-paced silently and hurriedly headed straight for the direction of their home.
Once they saw their sanctuary. They quickly welcomed themselves and went inside. Sandro immediate told her to wait in the couch and left. He then went to their parent's direction.
Silently discussing things, they sneak glances into her direction. Moreover they tried to do it discretely hoping she wouldn't notice. However due to their transparency, Agnes immediately knew that she's the topic of their conversation.
A foreboding feeling rose in her heart and she knew, that life as she knew it would never be the same.
