Chapter 11 - Flour fight

Xavier said nothing but he pushed Kyra aside and entered inside, then he went into the kitchen. Kyra just stood beside the front door holding it. She opened her mouth then closed it, then opened it again but again closed it. She can't find any words. What is he doing here, bringing all those? She slowly closed the door and padded towards the kitchen. And stared at the guy who not only entered her house but also gained full control of her kitchen.

He somehow found the flour, milk and a few more ingredients like nuts and honey without even asking her. How did he do that?

"Now, will you tell me what are you doing here?" Kyra asked leaning against the kitchen door and stared at him.

"I'm trying to bake some good and delicious honey walnut cookies." Xavier replied without taking his gaze off from the dough he was preparing. From ingredients in his hands, she could tell maybe he might be baking something. But she never pegged Xavier to be a baker guy. "You can bake?"

"Yeah," He paused and turned, "do you doubt my baking skills?" He turned up his eyebrow as he asked.

"W-what, n-no no, I didn't say that. I was just curious." Kyra flustered and shuffled her legs a bit before going to counter where Xavier was mixing the dough but not too much or it would turn like a stone after baking. He looked so good, baking in her kitchen. The jacket he had on him was now lying on the small table across the kitchen island.

"Why are you here?" Kyra wanted to know why was he here. He could've baked in his apartment too. That would have been more easier than to come here.

"I already answered that question." Xavier replied, now putting the nuts in the dough.

"You know that's not the answer I'm looking for. You could've used your own kitchen if you wanted to make cookies. Why do you have to come here?" It's not like she wasn't feeling good with him, being here, making some great cookies in her own kitchen.

"Tyler was sprawled out in the floor with one of his latest conquests, and I didn't want to stay there with them in action."

Kyra scrunched up her face reflexively. Of course, no one would ever stay if it's like that. Well...

Kyra didn't say anything anymore. She just went beside Xavier and started helping him. Xavier paused for a bit and stared at Kyra's top head before continuing again.

He was already planning to leave for the night since Tyler gets total nasty and messy. But today when he saw Kyra in the class this afternoon during astronomy, his mouth said the words without even him registering in his brain. Strange, but he couldn't stop. And when he arrived at her door, he decided he can't go inside just like that. So, he quickly went to a grocery store and bought some ingredients for making cookies. He can't show himself up like an idiot if he didn't have anything to do. She would definitely suspect and he can't let her have that.

There said, he's here now, in Kyra's kitchen making cookies and now going for making another dough. "What's the another dough for?" Kyra asked eyeing the flour.

"It's for my second set of cookies. It's simple chocolate chip, honey butter cookies."

Kyra was fairly surprised that Xavier knew what he was doing. She was curious, if he knows how to cook too. Now, that would be really interesting. Kyra smiled at the thought. But maybe she was obvious with her sneaky smile because the next words that came out of Xavier's mouth proved it.

"You know, it's kind of a bit creepy to smile when there is exactly, no plausible reason to. Experts usually call those people insane." Xavier informed calmly.

Kyra gasped and looked at him blankly. He did not just say that. "You did not just say that?"

"I didn't say anything, I was just stating a few facts." Xavier tried to suppress his quirking smile but his lips were already twitching.

Kyra pointed her finger against him and said in an accusing manner, "You said I'm crazy."

"That's means you were smiling without any reason?"

"Yes, no...don't know. But you don't say that. Take it back."

"Will not." He said as he started taking flour in the mixing bowl.

"Will do."

"Will not."

"Will do."

"Will not."

Kyra grabbed a handful of flour flinged it at him. And both of them gasped. Of course Kyra did it on an impulse. But she knew what was going to come now.

Flour Fight!

Xavier dusted himself and looked at her with... with what exactly? His face and upper body was covered with white flour. Not a color that suits him, but damn, he looked good even in that!

"You did not just do that. Now, you are going to face consequences", he said and flinged a handful of flour on Kyra, which she didn't even notice him grabbing before. And then they started the fight. Xavier grabbed Kyra's hand and pulled her against him. He held her waist with his one hand while used the other to forcefully try to cake her face and hair with the flour. Kyra too, grabbed more flour in both her hands to dumped it on Xavier's hair.

They kept fighting and laughing like that for half an hour before they finally calmed down and their laughter turned into chuckles and giggles. When both of them finally settled down, they saw the mess for the first time. Then they saw each other and laughed again.

"Ok, this is enough. We have clean up now. It's too messy and my kitchen looks trashy." Kyra groaned. "It's ok. Let's clean this up together. You should go and shower first. I'll see to the mess then I can shower and you clean the rest, okay?" Xavier suggested. Kyra nodded and went to her bedroom while Xavier cleans up the kitchen mess.

After cleaning herself thoroughly, she realized she really had fun today. Although Xavier came unexpected but he really made her, not only happy but also some tasty cookies. She came back to the kitchen after shower and she felt her poor heart beating faster again. She might get heart attack one day because of Xavier. He had discarded his shirt and was only in his jeans, cleaning up the kitchen counter. Needless to say, he looked so sexy with his eight-packs on display, his taut muscles flexing everytime he streched his arms and his muscled back moving in coordination with his rest of the body. Kyra was standing speechless and breathless behind him. She knows she has to say something, but she could form words in her mouth. She felt like her brain was going to short circuit.

No! She can't stand here like a dunce. And she knew she had to control her actions and emotions around him. She was still behind on many things.
