There came a time when she had to stop going to school. People whispered around her. Talking behind her back and passing on comments but how could she understand anything. She was just a 14 year old girl. She felt alone and she didn't had her Mom by her side. One confident if her life, was now gone and was never coming back. She lost everything; even her memories left her side. Trying to remember those memories hurt her head too much. So, she was advised not to put pressure on it.
Kyra came back to her bed after what felt like hours. She checked the time; it was 3'o clock in morning. She still have some time to sleep and rest. She fell asleep soon.
~~~~~
Kyra didn't get any nightmares after that night on Wednesday. She didn't know what she'd do if they were back again. It was already hard for her to adjust to the time she had lost. The three years she forgot, thinking she was still a little girl while she was already at the early stages of teenager.
She even went to the shrink arranged by her Dad for her problems. That helped her a bit to catch up but she still felt the loss of her mother by her side. They really took the hit. She broke down too many in front of the shrink but the man was although young and in his twenties, he seemed to understand so he let it out and helped her. Dr. Frank was his name.
She didn't inform about the nightmares to her Dad or her brothers when they called last night. Or she was sure they would fly over here overnight with her shrink, Dr. Frank. And that would take a huge blow to her low profile image.
"Where are you Kyra?" Danna waved her hand in front of her face as they were sitting in the cafeteria. It was lunch time already and students were filling in. Kyra as sitting with her friends on their usual table with their food in front of them.
"Huh? Nothing." Kyra waved her hand in denial, grabbed her cheese burger and took a big bite. That nightmare 2 nights ago was still fresh in her mind.
"It's not just nothing. You've been like this from yesterday. And even in design class today, Ms. Quinn called you so many times but you were so out of it. What happened?" Kyra looked over to Danna and saw her friend was seriously concerned about her. But she didn't want to tell her friends about this right now. It's kind of strange ,when even she doesn't know what her nightmare was about. So, she tried to change the topic.
"How is your part-time job going?" Kyra asked turning to Danna.
"Ugh...I wish I could just kill my boss myself and then go the jail for my crimes. He's such a douchebag." Danna slammed her hand on the table making the foods jump. Talking to Danna about her part-time job was always a good change.
"What happened this time? Did that hottie bag made you suffer again?" Greg smirked.
"That's the problem, he makes me suffer so much that sometimes I think I really must've done something wrong. And guess what, it's only me who dies things wrong."
"Atleast you want to go jail for murdering him. That's really good. You can plan it out now and impliment it later tonight." Alicia pointed out. Greg and Kyra started "I don't want to talk about him. He's just an unsufferable a**hole who thinks he must be the king of the world and that the world revolves around him. God, how could those women fly around him like a housefly is out of my mind." Danna huffed while grabbing a few french fries and put it in her mouth.
"Are you jealous?" Greg looked at her with suspiciously attracting Kyra and Alicia's attention too.
Of course Danna's boss was a man is a young man with really handsome good looks and deep green eyes. He always seemed to be attracting many women from the college as well as other females. This was one of the reason why 'Mozzarella' was quite popular and crowded making the job of waitresses like Danna difficult.
"Huh?! Jealous? I need to choke my neck and gauge my eyes out with a fork before I even think about that."
"Anyways, you can only complain girl. You can't leave your job for some a**hole boss right?" Kyra pointed out.
"You're right. I can't leave job now. It's a good pay here." Danna grabbed some more fries from the plate and shoved in her mouth.
Atleast they were off the topic of Kyra. Which was exactly what Kyra wanted. She needs time to figure out these.
Kyra was a little anxious. Tonight—which is Saturday night, night for her assignment— she was going for the astronomy assignment with her partner. And somehow her partner—Xavier—has convinced her into not taking the two vehicles and soon she found herself climbing on the black Range Rover, locking the seartbelt.
"Are you ready?" Xavier asked as he put the keys in ignition.
"Yeah, but where are we going? Isn't someplace near is more easier?" Kyra was fidgety with her fingers, in her hold was the grid sheets and zip file.
"Believe me, this place is more adequate for our work. You wouldn't regret that."
Kyra nodded her head. Of course she wish she'd regret ever following Xavier which was not actually in her case. Kyra looked out of the window to see many small shops in town lit in bright lights. People going in groups or in solo but all had their own way. The Tower of Dead Blood could be seen from the distance. It was lit on some part of the tower. She noticed that they were heading just that way.
"Isn't that the Tower of Dead Blood? Are we heading there?" Kyra pointed say at the tower as she said.
"You know about the Tower of Dead Blood?" Xavier soon reached the destination. He parked at the parking spot nearby and jumped down.
Well, that answered her question. They indeed went to the tower.
