Uh hi?" Kate said awkwardly and walked out. Great leave just when I'm in the worst situation possible.
I didn't want to look at the disgust in his eyes, so I looked away, walking back inside.
"Hey where are you going?"
He reached out to stop me. "What-"
I turned back, stepping further away before he could reach me.
"Look I do like you okay? And it doesn't feel good to see the person you like kiss someone else, so I decided to leave. You can go back, it's okay."
"I-"
"Dont-"
"Just let me clear any misunderstandings okay?"
"I didn't mean for you to feel like that, it's not like that. The girl I kissed wanted to confirm her sexuality, and I wanted to too so I agreed. That's why she pushed me away, she's not straight."
"Your Sexuality?"
"I am straight...but well I guess I like you anyway." He looked away playing with the back of his hair. "Kinda confirmed it today y'know? Didn't feel anything back there."
"And how do I know you're not pulling a prank or something?"
"Seriously, have you ever seen me hug someone as intimately? I wouldn't bury my face in someone's neck If i didn't like them." He covered his face. "why do you make me say such embaressing shit."
"I thought that was because I'm shorter. "
"No you idiot. "
"So you're telling me you like me too?"
"Yes."
"There's no way."
"I made one."
"There was a landslide."
"The flood cleared it out. "
"Surprise, I added in cement. Water can't do anything-"
"Oh my god you seriously just ruined my confession. "
"No I didnt-"
"God just shut up." He pulled me into a hug, burying his face into my hair ofcourse.
"Honestly, what do you like so much about my hair anyway?"
"It's fluffy and soft. Also it smells nice. "
"I like how you smell better. " I froze.
"I didn't say that, you're hearing things."
"I'm never forgetting that." He pulled away, a smirk making its way to his face when he saw my face which was probably as red as a tomato.
"Dear lord I almost cried because of how jealous I was 30 minutes ago, and Im gonna cry because of how happy I am right now. "
"Atleast it wasn't awkward as heck. "
"I almost cried and you care about it not being awkward? You piece of shit."
"I am a piece of shit. Sorry." He leaned down, resting his forehead on my shoulder.
"What are you apologizing for-"
I felt his lips on mine as my eyes shot open. This is really happening.
I tensed up, but eventually melted into the kiss, my eyes closing, as our lips worked together. He's a better kisser than Kate. I just said that.
He pulled away from the short kiss, resting his forehead against mine. "For that."
"It's the same for me, I don't like seeing you kiss someone else."
"You saw that?"
"I've been standing there since the 'tell me to stop if you don't like it'. It was hard to not come over and rip him away y'know?"
I turned even redder, well if that's possible as he chuckled, his breath ticking my face.
"You're cute when you blush."
"S-shut up."
"Let's go home."
"Woah wait no I'm not having-"
"Get your head out of the gutter we're just gonna eat and maybe watch some movies. And sleep ofcourse." He said grabbing my hand and leading me out.
I smiled to myself, still not actually fully aware of what just happened. For all I know, this could be a prank, dare or well even a dream.
But maybe, just maybe, he actually likes me....
"Can you drive? I did drink a bit..."
"Yeah sure. "
I got into the car, him following close behind me.
"Can I ask you something?"
"The guy from back there...do you like him?"
"Not at all. I'm not gay, I just like you. I mean he's not a bad guy, but- wait you heard our conversation, why still doubt it?"
"I don't know, I want to hear it from you."
"Me and Zach met him yesterday, when we went to get him clothes to wear for his date. He helped out because both of us have shit taste in clothes." I started the car, trailing off.
"Mhm" he hummed reminding me to continue.
"Anyway, after that Zach left and I forced him to buy me ice cream. Then we sat in the park for a bit and-"
"And?"
"Let me give you some back story," I said looking at how tense he looked.
"I've known I liked you since your date with your ex because that night...uh yeah, but I mean I thought you're straight and stuff so I wanted to move on. I figured the only way to do that is by liking someone else right?" I muttered nervously.
"So I wanted to like Kate, but I can't bring myself to see him like that. We kissed at the park, but it was just not right y'know? That's why I stopped him today." I chuckled, almost at my place.
"I know it's not my business and all, but Why'd you guys kiss before?"
"Oh that, I thought he was just gonna ruffle my hair assuming everyone was like you. But he meant a kiss which I should have expected." finally parking the car, I got out.
I heard him walk out after me, but he didn't say anything. I slowly unlocked the door inviting him in.
He closed the door behind him, walking to me. He stuck out his hand, reaching my hair but instead of ruffling my hair like normal, he bent down to reach my face, planting a quick kiss on my lips and then pulling back.
"Did you assume I wouldn't do that?" He looked at me.
....
Instead of saying something, I turned back grabbing the closest pillow and throwing it at him.
"Don't do stuff you usually won't you idiot!"
"Huh?"
"Just be like you usually are. "
"I am like I usually am..."
He walked over, kissing my cheek.
"But I can kiss you now, instead of just thinking about it. " He smirked.
If didn't explode before, I'm probably close to exploding right about now.
"What are you doing to me." I hid my flushed face in my hands.
Even when I had my first kiss, I'd never felt so flustered over anything. I didn't have butterflies jumping on a trampoline at the bottom of my stomach like now.
"Don't blame me for being so charming!" He tried to move my hands.
"Screw you." I shoved his hands away, deciding I wanted pizza. I awkwardly order a large pizza, struggling to tell her which one I wanted. Finally, I managed to finish the order, sighing.
I heard the door bell, assuming it was the pizza I walked over. That quick?
When I opened the door, I found an angry Zach instead. Wait whys he here?
He stomped into the room, sitting on the couch.
"What about your date?"
"Don't wanna talk about it." He declared,
"What did he do?"
"That's the thing, he did nothing. "
"What do you mean?" Matthew asked, walking over.
"He never showed up."
"He stood you up?"
"That's another way to put it." He laid down, stuffing his face into a pillow.
"I knew it was too good to be true."
"There's probably a reason, he wouldn't do that. Wait I'll try calling him. "
"M-matty, he never showed up." Perry whined through the phone.
What's going on?
"Where'd you ask him to come?"
"To the diner next to the mall..."
Zach got up hearing that.
"No he called me to the diner behind the school...."
"So you're telling me, you guys just misunderstood the location, and are now crying about it."
"I'm not crying!" Zach whined.
"Shut up, you were so close to crying right now."
"Uh Zach? Can we still go?" Perry asked nervously through the phone.
"No...."
"You really think I'd say that?" He chuckled.
"I'm coming over to pick you up." He muttered hanging up the phone. Zach sighed in relief, leaning back on the couch.
"Thanks for that Matthew."
"Where my thanks?!"
"Ew. More importantly why's he at your place? Just curious I promise..."
"T-thats-"
"Nvm Perry's here so I don't care, just use protection kids." He winked, excitedly rushing out.
Matthew leaned out the door, "YOU GUYS ARE SO WHIPPED!"
Perry just shouted a "so what?" And then the two were gone.
"That was fun." I chuckled, and only then noticed the pizza guy standing on the side looking at us.
"None of my business, but those 2 do be cute together." He smiled, giving me the pizza.
"That they are.." I smiled, muttering a thank you and then closing the door behind me.
I set the box down, moment of truth.
"Hey Matthew, can I call you Matt..." He Looked at me, visibly shocked.
I backed away immediately. "Actually n-nevermind I'll stick to Matthew..."
"No, you can call me whatever you want to. I was just shocked because I thought you would never do that..."
"Okay let's eat....Matt." that was so awkward.
"Wait I need to look for a movie first!"
"Not another romance ughh."
He ignored me, picking another cliché as we settled down on the floor with our blankets and pizza, ready to eat.
Befoe I knew it, the pizza was gone { :( }after eating, I went to discard the box. When I returned, Matthew was completely immersed in the movie, looking the most adorable I've seen him.
I sat down beside him, more interested in looking at him. This is a side of Matthew not a lot of people are fortunate enough to see huh? Is it okay for me to assume that I just got a premium membership to see it whenever?
