It was already evening when they reached D City. As they have previously agreed upon, the couple went straight to NABU.
In the following weeks after the announcement of the two family's union, Cody and George went on with their lives according to the latter's wish. The only change from before is the reality that they are now living together.
Cody goes to JADE regularly and even works overtime when needed. However, he makes sure that he is home before dinner time. So unlike the bachelor who would even spend the night in the office to increase the company's value.
Aside from that, and unbeknownst to George, he wakes up in the wee hours of the morning to prepare his wife's breakfast. He prohibited the kitchen staff to reveal to her that he is doing this everyday. Since he still needs to workout daily, he needed to be up at least an hour earlier to take care of his bride.
He finds joy in planning her meals and seeing the satisfaction on his wife's face when she tastes her food. He now leaves for the office a bit later just to be able to have the first meal with her.
George did not mind having a companion to converse with every morning. This was a huge shift since she has been eating alone after the annulment. Save for the few instances that Meg will sit around before going to work.
Most dinner is shared among the family of three: Cody, George and Meg. Exceptions would be Meg's date nights and company banquets where Cody and George are expected to attend.
George was still able to do as she pleases including visiting A university or doing charity work and going to coffee dates with her friends. Seeing how her new husband accommodates their living arrangement by going home before dinner, she also follows on his lead.
In times when she couldn't be home on time, she would always inform him and the latter would go to wherever she is to ensure that she gets home safely. He would sometimes join her and her friends in cases like this but there were also times that he would simply skip his dinner and wait for her in the car.
These little sacrifices were never noticed as these were meant to remain unnoticed. Our doting husband prefers to secretly take care of her to maintain the equilibrium. He already decided that he would not pressure her on matters about taking their relationship to the next level.
A few weeks after their wedding night, he was hoping she would conceive so they would have stronger connection. However, it was not meant to be. There were no indications of her being pregnant and five months into the marriage, nothing has changed.
They shared a bed but they slept on opposite ends. When she is asleep, he would be staring at her for a long time but he continued to maintain the distance.
It is in only in public that he could openly show her how he feels. Unfortunately, it is in the guise of keeping appearances as a power couple.
