Chapter 10 - Working in a MMORPG

The two girls followed Loptr inside the building, discovering when he pushed open the door a large room with a special atmosphere.

Everything was decorated in a dark way. Long purple curtains covered the walls, and tablecloths of the same color covered the few round tables scattered in the bar. The only source of light was the few scattered candles everywhere, and the large candlestick that floated above their heads, without even being attached to the ceiling.

"Is... Is it magic?" Sasaki asked, impressed that an object of this size could stay in the air without problems. She would be a little afraid it falls on her head when passing underneath...

"Of course, I'm a necromancer. And I used my skills to give this bar a unique atmosphere that would attract people." The man answered without stopping his walk, guiding them through the restaurant.

"And why do you need employees then ? You could use zombies or skeletons, no ? It would cost you less than paying staff." Ofelya said, who also seemed surprised by the decoration of the place.

"I could, but they tend to be good only to fight, and to handle complex tasks I need other real people. And then a zombie is less charming than pretty girls." Sasaki noticed that several girls were standing, coming and going between the tables to serve the customers. They were all dressed in the same way, in a rather tight, dark dress that left some parts of their bodies visible, to the delight of the customers' eyes. They also had cat ears of different shapes and colors, in addition to a matching tail. Besides, Sasaki noticed only two or three women customer. The majority of the clients were men.

Loptr pushed the door into the kitchen, where other people were busy serving everyone on time. Suddenly, the environment became noisier, while the inside of the bar was very quiet.

"There's a spell that blocks the transmission of sound from the kitchen, everything is really well thought out..." Ofelya commented, who had realized the magic wall they had crossed. Sasaki, on the other hand, did not feel anything... And that worried her a little.

As they entered a new door, they came to a second room, where different tables were arranged to let people play like in a casino. Billiards, roulette, poker table, it seemed that in addition to being able to eat by being served by pretty girls, customers could come and relax by betting a little money. In this room also was the bar's large counter, made of smooth, varnished mauve wood. A man was busy making cocktails, the wall behind him being covered with shelves that held jars or bottles of different colors. He was probably the bartender.

"These are the two main rooms of the Neko Bar. The first is open to general audiences, the second is reserved for major players, there are also another corridors and several rooms that can be made available to customers if they wish to spend some private time with one of the waitresses." Loptr explained, finally turning to the two girls, who had been following him until now.

"What ?! This is a prostitution establishment ?" Sasaki looked surprised, failing to fall to the floor in shock.

"Not all the waitresses are offering this service, but those who do it are obviously well paid. But you can just serve the customers." Loptr replied, keeping an imperturbable air and putting his glasses back in an elegant gesture.

"I think I'm going to stay a classic waitress..." Sasaki concluded, lowering her eyes. So was sex allowed in this game ? At the same time, the players were so free of their movements that it was not surprising that there were drifts... But she did not feel like playing that role. Being a waitress would be enough, and too bad if she had to work longer to pay the 10,000 gems.

"Uh, me too..." Ofelya pronounced with an embarrassed smile, who was less proud than outside. She knew she had an attractive body, but the men was not her thing...

"As you wish. You will be paid 1,000 gems each day, so you'll stay with us for ten days, I guess."

"1,000 gems a day ? Wow, I should've come here early rather than working for the city !" Ofelya shouted with surprise. This actress job in the tutorial was really a big scam for inexperienced players, and she was a little ashamed of being fooled.

Sasaki said nothing more, just remaining silent. She found the bar very beautiful, but she did not feel comfortable with the idea of doing a job where she had to put her body in value. Well, she did not really have a choice either...

"Please follow me in the annex. I will take your measurements to make your work clothes, and explain you some rules of good conduct." The necromancer began to walk back to the back of the room, and pushed open a door that looked out over a large empty space with gray walls. Nothing was decorated, the room was only used to store certain ingredients, and was also used in case he had to accommodate new employees.

"I hope it's not you who will take our measurements, you're a man, and-"

Ofelya stopped talking as she saw the two zombies standing in the room. They held in their putrefied hands strips of cloth which served precisely to measure their bodies.

"No, it's them who will take care of it." Loptr said simply, detached.

"Finally I prefer that you do it !" She said after quickly changing her mind, seeing two half-decomposed bodies approaching her and Sasaki.
