The two men were glancing at each other, each waiting for his opponent to make the first blow. The two men ? The two monsters, rather ! They were both above level 40, which was monstrous knowing that the boss of the bar was only at level 34...
And how could her long-time friend Omuge lie to her ? He told her he had not started playing yet, and he was at level 54 ? Something was wrong, she felt it. And the black knight facing him felt it too.
His hand on the guard of his sword, he seemed to stare at the young man, too confident. The latter did not even have a weapon and did not even stand in a fighting position, as if it were so easy that he did not even need to fight seriously.
"So, bard, I'm waiting for your first shot." Dylan unsheathed his sword, with a long dark blade encrusted with red jewels. Was that too, a cursed sword ? In any case, it seemed that it was not a weapon within the reach of the weakest players...
Omuge had not moved and had not responded to the challenge of his opponent, just sitting on a table.
"Why would I give the first shot ? Honor to the youngest !" He shouted with a mocking smile, this time making the knight react. The latter stepped forward and gave a great vertical slash that would have cut Sasaki's friend in half if he had not avoided it by passing on the side. The state of the table hinted at what he could have suffered...
But Dylan had foreseen the blow, and he dropped his sword to bring a blow to Omuge with the back of his arm in the face. The latter flew to the ground, like Sasaki a few moments earlier. Wasn't he supposed to be level 54 ? He should be able to ward off that kind of blows, right ?
Dylan picked up his sword and pulled it out of the jagged wood of the table, turning to the young man who was holding his cheek.
"You seriously thought your spell was going to work on me? Let's see Omuge, you're just a poor level 1 poet. Maybe your words can bewitch low-level players, but they don't work long on me." The real class of the player was unveiled by his opponent, and Sasaki understood the situation a little better. It was also how he managed to calm the head waitress by making her calmer when she was angry...
However, it had the opposite effect on the black knight, who now seemed really upset. The hustle and bustle he had made caused some customers to flee, and the frightened waitresses were hiding in corners of the bar as well. Only the head waitress with long red hair approached without fear.
"Please stop your actions immediately, you are endangering people who have nothing to do with the reason of your anger, and you are damaging the Neko Bar's reputation." She said as she approached, passing Sasaki who was still on the floor. This woman was certainly strict, but also visibly very loyal and courageous, since she was the only employee who defended the bar.
"In that case, let me do what I want with this girl. It's because she opposed to me that I'm angry, while I'm one of your most loyal customers." Dylan responded, staying on guard, ready to act in case she tried to stop him.
"No. She is protected by the rules of our institution and she does not offer the services you are looking for. So please do not insist."
"Even in a situation like this where your life is at stake, you continue to be polite and play your part as a good little waitress... Go, fight properly if you want to stop me !" Dylan's voice sounded amused, as if the change of situation was entertaining him more than anything else. Men like him, who used their strength to do what they wanted, were disgusting to Sasaki. Yuma, the boy who believed that he was all allowed with her in reality, fell into the same category of waste that she wanted to exterminate.
But again, she was too weak to do anything other than be a spectator of her own misfortune.
"All right, forgive me for what I'm going to do." The head waitress summoned a large scepter in her right hand, a giant version of the wizard's wands. It consisted of a large white handle on which sat a sparkling blue gem. Around it were pieces of stone on which were inscribed characters which Sasaki did not recognize.
"I am Marigold, level 8 disenchanter . And I intend to stop you." She ntroduced herself, before banging her scepter against the bar's floor. A magic circle appeared under Dylan's feet, and a field of force stretched around him from floor to ceiling, enclosing him in a transparent and luminous prison.
"This is a device set up by our boss in case of problem with the customers. We'll keep you here until the guard of the city arrives to stop you. Attacking players in an unauthorized area is a crime." She said, relaxing a little. There was no chance that a black knight could come out of this magical prison. Especially since it was a trap designed by Loptr, who was the most talented person she knew for magic.
"I don't intend to be arrested. Some time ago a trap like this might have defeated me, but... Not anymore, now that I have this cursed sword."
Then the sword was cursed ! He was cursed from head to toe... That was probably why Sasaki had felt so bad beside him.
Dylan brandished his sword and pulled it down on the force field that opened under the blade like a tearing curtain. Marigold took a few steps back, surprised to see her enchantment explode so easily.
"Nithrùn, the magic sword... It took me a while to get it but it was worth it." The man said, walking slowly towards the head waitress, who had lost her means. She had no other way to defend herself than that one, her spells were far too weak to compete with a player of his level...
"I wonder what I'm going to do with a pretty woman like you. If you became my slave, it wouldn't be so bad..."
Suddenly, an explosion of mauve smoke pushed the knight back a few feet, but was unable to knock him down. The necromancer and boss of the bar had finally arrived, ready to protect the place he had taken a long time to build.
"Dylan... Every time you come, you're causing trouble... It's time to grow up now." The man said, pulling up his glasses before sighing. He did not want to dirty his work clothes, and seeing the condition of his bar made him feel angry.
"Loptr, what a nice surprise ! I just wanted to test Nithrùn against a necromancer."
