Raven was a small town located in the northern border of the Roland Republic. The town housed a small population of 1300 people and was known for its sale of the materials, Fire Minx and Ice Silk. The purchase of these elemental materials allowed the town to have a reputation among small merchants looking to start anew in the business world.
On one of the market streets in the town, there was a slight disturbance as a fat man was holding a wooden club and running down the streets with a murderous look on his face.
"People of Raven the 'Red Thief' has once again struck, and this time we can capture him, he just stole from my bakery and is around here somewhere so look for him if you want to protect your goods in the future"
Immediately as the fat man spoke, there was a small moment of silence that was soon accompanied by chaos. Every stall owner in the street took out whatever weapon they had and went on to look for the 'red thief' while all the merchants packed the goods they were selling and hid it in fear.
The Red Thief was a well-known name in Raven as he attacked every single stall and store in the town with nobody ever catching him however the stall owners always tried to capture him as there hate for him was bone deep. This proved pointless as no one could even catch him and not much being known about him. The only known characteristics about the Red Thief was that he was tiny in stature and always wore a Red Cloak leading the people of the town to name him the red thief.
After about half an hour the store owners all gave up as they always did and dejectedly went back to work. Not far from the markets a black door materialised on the walls of a small building revealing a small figure adorned in a red cloak that entirely covered his body and a hood that covered his face. The figure took off the hood that covered his face revealing a kid that looked about 10 to 11.
The kid had Crimson red hair and black coloured eyes that radiated indifference. His face was expressionless until a small smile bloomed on his face.
"Hehe those old farts will never find me with how stupid they are and now for my spoils" The kid excitedly took something out of his cloak. It was a loaf of bread.
"Not bad this will help me stay fed for at least three days now to go back home" With a happy smile on his face the kid disappeared from the spot he was as if he had never been there in the first place..
The kid's name was Lucian. He was born in Raven where his parents mercilessly abandoned him at the mere age of two. Luckily the local orphanage took him in and cared for him until he was seven years old. At the age of seven, a group of bandits disguised as merchants sneaked into the town and the orphanage killing everyone Lucian knew.
Fueled by sorrow and anger Lucian awakened a latent power hidden deep in his blood and a voice that kept telling him to do weird stuff. The awakened power was something that Lucian feared for at the mere age of seven he had slaughtered all the bandits at the orphanage in a mindless rage. After that day Lucian went into hiding for fear of what his power could do as the townspeople presumed him dead.
On the edges of the town, there was a small hut that was barely noticeable as it was hidden by tall trees. Inside the hut, Lucian sat on a bed and galloped down the loaf of bread making sure to leave some for later. After eating the food Lucian sat down in a meditative position and summoned a dark ball of miasma that coiled around his hand. The dark ball emanated an aura of death, however, Lucian did not seem to be fazed by it as if he was used to this. This dark ball was the power that Lucian had gained after killing the bandits. It was the Power of the Devourer or that was what the voice in his head constantly kept telling him.
"Hmm, it seems to have grown larger. Let's see what I can do with it now" Lucian started coiling the dark ball with around his fingers and shaping it, first into a spear and then a long sword followed by a variety of weapons. Lucian closed his eyes as if he were concentrating. He started to shape the dark ball into the structure of a rectangle and he spread about is hands making the ball expand to roughly the same size as a door. Lucianmaterialised a Black door seemed to be the same as the one that he had used before but it was much larger and there were two different strands of energy in the air flowing into the door. The two strands of energy were respectively a grey one and a black one as the grey strand of energy emanated an aura of space and the black an aura of darkness.
"Seems like I don't have to worry about outgrowing the length of the door anymore" Lucian chuckled to himself as he closed his eyes once more and entered a meditative state. He started shaping something with the dark ball and as the shape was starting to be recognisable the dark ball disappeared from his hands
"Damn it not again. When will I be able to materialise 'it', if I can actually do it then I won't have to worry about the town knight and baron."
The Cheif Knight of the Town Laxlow and The Baron Androminas were the two most powerful people in the town and the only two people that Lucian feared. Fortunately, they had not occupied themselves with a mere beggar that was stealing from the town's market with the Lord only sending some squares to quell the markets stall owners anger.
"If I can't materialise it then I can only ask 'him' for advice." Lucian stood up and left the small house. He walked towards the town's slums as he travelled through the alleyways. Finally reaching the slums he further crawled through a small gap in a wall of a building in the slums and arrived at his destination. An enormous wooden door stood majestically in front of him and Lucian pushed open its doors where he was met by a serene scene.
