The once beautiful town that was Raven laid bloodied with Bodies governing its floors. Be it those of Monsters or Humans and for the past couple hours, Lucian had helped the town rid itself of the monsters that had been attacking it. Alongside the knight garrison protecting Raven and their chief knight Laxlow.
After the defeat of the Minotaur King, the large black door that was at the centre of the town had closed itself. Most likely because the Minotaur King was the person that had kept it open in the first place. Lucian has been silent the entire time that he had been helping the knight garrison and Laxlow also did not speak much as he had to deal with the Monsters attacking the town.
However, as the town was swept clean of the monsters, Lucian thought he finally had a chance to speak with Laxlow only to see he was currently occupied.
Laxlow was currently speaking with one his knights.
"And how many casualties have we had? he said.
"The monsters have killed about 300 people with a further 200 injured. 62 of them being In a very critical condition" The knight replied.
Laxlow paused. "To think the once proud town of 1300 people is now 1000 with a few others fate hanging on the line." Laxlow sighed despondently showing that he truly cared for the town and would risk everything for them. This fact was seen by the large cloth that was stained with blood tied to his left arm."
"Chief there's one more thing." A nervous look on his face and his voice shook the knight suddenly spoke up.
"What is it? Speak." Laxlow said. Irritation evident in his tone after all he had just lost nearly a quarter of the town's people."
"Among the casualties is the Baron. One of the hell beasts attacked him in his manor and being defenceless he was killed. We reached there in time to prevent the Baron's body from being eaten."
Laxlow paused shocked by the news he just heard however he soon calmed down as befitting an official mage and calmly said. "Bury the bodies of the deceased immediately so as not to cause disease. Is the apothecary among the living?"
The knight was quick to reply as he said. "She is alive however she too is injured. Should I send for an apothecary from the nearest town?.
"No need to I can help you with that." Lucians who had been listening to the conversation between Laxlow and the knight spoke up.
Laxlow looked at The origin of the voice only to see it was the man that saved him.
"Ah forgive my insolence Master, I was so caught up with recent affairs that I forgot about you. Laxlow said. Brimming with the hope, he asked "If I may ask how exactly would you help us after all the injuries that some people have got is terrifying,"
Master? Lucian was confused only for the reason for it to hit him. The Old Man had once said that the spells he taught him were of the highest tiers in magic and although Lucian did not know what the levels of Magic spells were he knew that the spells he used were all incredible. Coupled with him using "Herald of Heaven" And his aura being hidden, Laxlow seemed to believe he was an old monster who made his appearance look younger, something that was not that uncommon compared and what he would believe compared to Lucian genuinely being a fifteen-year-old. Instead of denying it Lucian instantly took advantage of Laxlows thoughts.
"I was merely passing by the town when I heard about the commotion going leading me to save you and the town. I also have been roaming the lands for the past couple of years and wish to settle down. A town such as this is perfect for me to settle down and to factor in the fact that I know some healing spells I could easily help you." Lucian did not know any healing spells; this was a lie. Lucian may have learnt some powerful spells firm the old man, but none of them was healing spells. Of course, he knew just the right person to teach him.
Upon hearing him Laxlows face glowed. "Thank you for all your help I - no Raven will forever be grateful to you." Laxlows happiness was evident in his excited voice. "However for someone as powerful as you being a mere healer is wrong but it is better to be a Leader now that the Baron is dead."
Confusion was apparent on Lucian's face as he asked. "Is the Baron not appointed by the King of the kingdom l, how could I simply become a new leader?"
Lucian looked at the burly man only to see a weird expression on his face as he looked at him. "Master, I take it that you are not from around this area?"
Feeling that something wrong was going to happen if he answered yes Lucian said.
"Yes you are right I hail from the Faraway Eastern lands."
Laxlow smiled as if he expected the answer.
"Master I thought so. That means you don't know much about the area we are currently. We are in the Abandoned Lands. They call Abandoned because we are in the middle of two powerful kingdoms. The Bharath Empire and the Marsalis Kingdom. We are in the middle and are not conquered because our land was deemed useless. There are no good geographical locations not are they much resources. which is why the Baron is not a true noble but merely someone who named himself such."
Lucian said. "Is Raven the only town In the abandoned lands?"
Laxlow replied. "No Master there are nine more town's in the abandoned land and one small city."
"Ah is it then I will gladly become your leader." Lucian responded.
"Thank you, master. What shall I call you then?" Laxlow asked.
Smiling he said, "Oh you can call me Lucian or you can call me the Lord."
Laxlow was quick to reply as he said. "Master Lucian it is then."
