Chapter 10 - Ch.10| My Dad.

It was early into the next day when Pierre finally called back, the ringing had woken up both Arius and Dante. That night, Dante had somehow ended up sleeping beside Arius.

"Anwser it." Dante whined as he opened his eyes to see Arius covering his head with a pillow.

"You do it." Although Arius said that, he hadn't realized that Dante had really decided to do so. Dante climbed out of the bed and accepted the call. He held the phone to his ear without speaking.

"You were right to want to find the girl." Pierre sighed on the other line. "As it turns out, she's immortal."

Dante was shook, he quickly brought the phone to Arius's face. He whispered urgently to him, "Hey!" Yet the only reaction from Arius was a grunt. Dante panicked for a moment before putting the phone back up to his ear.

"Oh, did I wake you up? You sound tired." Pierre had seemingly took Arius's grunt as a response. After not getting any words from the other line he continued, "Right, well her immortality is definitely different from yours. Also, we don't have her yet."

"This is Dante." The child finally said after a moment of white noise over the phone. A long silence followed, but after a few seconds Dante could hear inaudible shouting. Dante felt slightly offended by the reaction, but he didn't say anything.

"Where is... Phil?" Pierre calmed down.

"Asleep." Dante looked over at Arius whose face was buried under a pillow.

"Did you hear what I said before?" Pierre asked warily.

"Mhm." Dante replied while turning towards the nightstand. "You said that this one girl is immortal, and so is my dad."

Pierre choked on his words, "Your 'dad'?"

"Yea, so who are you?" Dante didn't feel the need to explain that he was adopted just yesterday.

"When the f-!" Before he could hear Pierre finish speaking, a man's hand reached over and quickly took the phone. Dante looked over at Arius who was sitting up with the phone next to his ear. He was running his hand through his hair, Dante felt that he was either frustrated or thinking.

"Calm down, Pierre." Arius said sternly.

"I always knew it! There is no way that someone with your level of adoration for kids, wouldn't have kids of their own!" Pierre exclaimed, whether he was excited or unhappy was something one could not determine.

"I adopted him yesterday." Arius said plainly. It caused Pierre to fall into silence.

"Oh. Yea, that would make sense." Pierre had a habit of jumping to conclusions.

"What did you tell him?" Arius moved his hand to rub his forehead.

"Well, he may or may not know of your immortality." Pierre had calmed down. "Also, he knows that the girl, Zuna, is Immortal."

"Zuna is immortal?" Arius had ignored the fact that Dante knew anything and jumped straight into the conversation about Zuna.

"Yea! In fact, she either heals herself or regenerates." Pierre went on to say, "She is also dangerous. She has an ability that usually brings death to people within a two meter radius."

"What?!" Arius didn't know how to feel about that revelation, but he was still shocked.

"It's not a direct death, though." Pierre was happy that he was able to distract his boss from his pervious mishap. "We'll actually most likely need you to help get her into our custody."

"I'll meet you on green street." Arius said excitedly.

"Right now?" Pierre was surprised.

"Yea, I'll see you there." Arius hung up the phone. He got out bed and quickly went into the bathroom to put his clothes on. Then the two went down the stairs.

"Can I go too?" Dante asked as he watched Arius grabbing his things.

"What do you mean? You're already part of the secret, why wouldn't you come with?" Arius said like it was obvious. "Besides, I can't leave you alone."

"Okay!" Dante smiled at that.
