Souma let out a sigh. 'I guess I'll have to prepare myself. At least I have some time to relax'. Souma looked across the cafeteria. All the tables were occupied except one. It seemed as though people were avoiding the table for some reason. 'Strange... I wonder why.' As he walked up to the table, he quickly realized why people had been avoiding the table. 'Yeonha... She has that much status huh? Students won't even get near her but based on their reactions from class earlier, it seems they most respect her. Well, in the end, it doesn't matter. I still need somewhere to sit and I'm not about to sit on the floor just because of one girl.'
Souma walked up to the seat and sat on the opposite from Yeonha, around eight seats away.
"!!!," mutters flew across the room.
"Who's he?"
"Why's he sitting near her."
All eyes were on him. As a single tear dropped down Souma's face, he thought, 'Why me?... All I ever wanted was to sit down and rest. I cry every time.'
Yeonha glanced over to Souma. Yeonha gave a slight cough.
"..."
*cough*
"..."
*cough* This time a little louder and forced.
'The hell? Is that supposed to be some sort of signal?' Souma thought. 'She does realize she could just ask me why I'm sitting here right?... or is she too high and almighty to do that. I guess I'll have to start the conversation.'
"Yo!" Souma said. "You need something?"
Yeonha looked back with an annoyed and confused look. "You're the one who decided to sit here," she said. "Yea, I realize. But guess what, seats were meant to be sat on. I know, it's crazy to believe," Souma said back. 'So rude!!' Yeonha thought. "Excuse me? You do see that no one other than me is sitting here right? You should've taken a hint and never came here."
Souma let out an annoyed sigh. He asked calmly, "Why do you act like this... All you're doing is acting like an ignorant idiot. In class, you ignored my literal existence. After class, you talked to me coldly and now once again, you act as if your life is worth more than mine. All I did was sit down. I made sure to sit across from you too so I wouldn't bother you. Don't make this a big deal."
Offended, Yeonha shouted, "I'm the heir of the Cheonbu Enterprise!!! Someone like you doesn't deserve to sit near me!!"
Souma looked at Yeonha blankly.
"Who are you again?"
"How many times must I tell you. I'm the heir of the Cheonbu Enterprise!!"
"No... I asked... who are you. I didn't ask for your title. Don't give me something that your parents passed down to you. Tell me who YOU are. If you truly believe your life is more valuable than mine just because of your origin, then Yeonha... I don't know what to say. That simply means you can't find any value in yourself. That's why you cling onto that title with such a high regard. It's because you want something or someone to give you value. Because you're too weak to give yourself value."
The entire student body present was shocked. Yeonha was shocked. She could not believe what she had just heard. The next five seconds felt as though an eternity had passed for Yeonha. Unable to retaliate. Unable to speak. Unable to prove Souma wrong, Yeonha simply sat there frozen.
"HEY!!! How dare you talk to Yeonha like that!" said a random student nearby yelled. Slowly the boys started gathering and surrounded Souma. "Turn around buddy, we've got something to show you," said another student. 'Can't I get some time to just rest,' Souma thought while ignoring the students around him. Suddenly, one of the students grabbed Souma and pulled him out of the seat.
"Don't ever talk to Yeonha again! You hear me? Someone like you doesn't even deserve to be in her vicinity!"
"And you are?" Souma asked. "It's strange, isn't it? You all seem to respect Yeonha so much yet you treat her almost as though she's some sort of precious gem. Is that her fault? Is it your fault? Maybe it's everyone's fault for treating her like that/ Maybe it's a bit of both. She's not an item... She's human like each one of you." Souma glanced over to Yeonha and softened his expression. "I've been harsh huh? You know Yeonha... you're human. Humans rely on each other for strength. You shouldn't isolate yourself because of your title. All it does is make you... alone. And being alone is the worst kind of pain. Trust me I would know. But I guess you don't want to take advice from a guy who just scolded you right," he said. "Especially from someone who's not human," Souma mumbled.
"You're not worth her time! Don't talk to her after what you said earlier!" At this point, the boys surrounding Souma had just about enough. They got closer and started attacking him. I'll just have to endure this, Souma thought. It was at this moment that Souma heard a voice inside of his head. "What are you doing Souma? Why do you let such weak and pitiful creatures hurt you?" the voice said. Souma remained quiet as he continued to bet beaten. "Look at them Souma. All of them could be killed in an instant if you just give me CONTROL. I can give you everything you ever desire Souma. All you have to do is give in to me," "No," Souma replied "I will make my own decisions. My life is mine, not yours."
----------------------------------------------------
After some time, Souma was left on the ground bruised and injured. He glanced over to Yeonha and gave a light smile. "So... I'll ask again... Who are you?"
She paused for a moment. "I am Yoo Yeonha," she said proceeding to leave the scene.
Souma left off a small laugh. 'Only one more thing to deal with and the day will finally end,' he thought.
