*Twitch*
"Damn... You seriously lost it huh," Souma said while slowly picking himself up. Blood still dripping from head to toe.
"H-How are you... still alive... let alone be able to stand," Seiji said still shaken from what he had just done. The feeling of hurting some else. The feeling of almost killing someone still remained on his hands. Watching Souma stand up gave Seiji a sense of relief but more than that it made him feel fear. How was it possible for Souma to be alive? He had stabbed Souma more than enough times to kill him two times over. But there he was, still standing right in front of him, acting as if nothing was wrong.
*Twitch*
Souma let out a deep breath. "God I'm hungry," he said ignoring Seiji. "So... how was it?"
"W-what are you talking about?" Seiji replied confused.
"You heard it too didn't you? A voice telling you to kill."
"..."
"Well... judging from how you're acting, I'm assuming you did."
Seiji looked at his blood covered hands for a moment. He looked back at Souma with a face filled with fear, confusion, and sadness. Seiji knew something was wrong. Something was happening to him. His expression was pleading for an answer.
Souma slowly moved towards Seiji. "Hey Seiji, let me ask you a question. What do you desire?"
"I don't understand. Why is that relevant!?"
"What do you desire?" Souma asked once again.
"I... I don't know," Seiji replied. "I never had any desires."
"Wrong. You simply don't know what your desire is. I'll give you a hint. That uncontrollable urge to kill. That voice you heard inside your head... it's all related to your desire."
"I still don't understa-"
"!!!!!!"
Suddenly, a loud cry was heard throughout the alley. Seiji quickly turned around to see what had just occurred. That's when he saw it. Two of his companions had their chests gouged out and it was through those openings that some sort of humanoid creature held the two up. In a single moment, the creature vanished. Before anyone had any time to react, another cry was heard nearby. Then another, and another, and another until eventually, Souma, Seiji, and the creature once again hidden from sight, were the only ones left surrounded by a sea of blood.
"..."
Unable to understand anything, Seiji was at a loss. The three were shrouded in darkness with a thick stench of blood. To Seiji, it felt as if a snake was slowly wrapping itself around him. And as time would pass, the snake would only tighten restraining his movements. He felt trapped. He felt as though he had no control. He was simply a victim in Souma's game. A game of life and death.
"I don't get it. I DON'T FUCKING GET IT!!!" He yelled. "Ever since I've met you... ever since that moment something changed! Throughout the day, something inside of me was changing. It was as if something was triggered. Rin, that weak piece of shit. Why couldn't you just leave him alone!?!? Why... just why did you have to interfere!?" As Seiji's legs gave out, he said "I feel as though I'm not me. As if I'm losing control and slowly becoming a monster. And now... some creature is about to kill us!!!! I don't know what to do. I need answers dammit! Tell me Souma!! Who are you?"
"..."
"What are you? What's going on!!"
A grin could be seen across Souma's face. A smile emanating a sense of joy. "How about we make a bet. I'll tell you everything you want to know under one condition. Survive!!!"
At that moment, the unknown entity from before came of the darkness aiming directly for Seiji. Souma quickly shoved Seiji to the side and intercepted the attack. "That's a cute mask you got there buddy," Souma said cheerfully to the creature. "Trying to hide your identity?"
The creature violently attacked giving no time to rest. But Souma was able to keep up. He continuously intercepted each and every attack. "You gotta be faster than that to inflict damage on me!" Souma yelled.
Faster? Seiji thought. His eyes couldn't even track of what was happening. How could they possibly go faster than that?
Watching Souma, and the creature battle made Seiji felt defeated. He had entered a world far beyond his own. A world he simply couldn't comprehend.
But no matter how bewildered Seiji was, the two would continue to clash. "Stop hiding behind that mask and fight me for real," Souma said leaping forward as an attempt to take the mask. However, Souma was unsuccessful as the creature was able to quickly react and jumped back into the shadows. Souma let out a sigh and stood still. He remained completely silent and closed his eyes. Putting all his focus into his senses, he waited for the creature to attack.
"!!!!"
Just then, he felt it. A slight change in the air. It was behind him. Within a second, Souma quickly turned and raised his hand to block the attack. With his other hand, he pulled the mask off the creature's face and leaped backward.
"Finally," Souma said.
Now the creature's face was in full view. Both Souma and Seiji were able to recognize the face. It was Rin, but not the Rin Seiji knew. The Rin in front of them was some sort of deformed humanoid monster.
