Akari was living a dream. Her relative's small restaurant had gone bankrupt, courtesy of the scandals that happened there and was exposed by Aiko. Daiki had stopped using drugs and found a nice girl that agreed to join Red Winter as their spy. Itsuki had finally realized his feelings toward Aiko and was determined to withdraw from his playboy ways, shocking everyone. Kaito became less bossy. Yup, Akari's life seemed to be going down a straight path. The keyword here being 'seemed.' But, no one has a happily ever after. So, around two months before Akari's 19th birthday, she received a not-so-pleasant call from her father.
"Hello? Who is this?"
"Hello, I am looking for Akari."
"I'm Akari. Who is this?"
"Oh good. I am Danuja Tanaka. I assume you have heard this name before?" Akari froze as she felt her blood run cold. Danuja... Tanaka. Akari's mind went blank as she heard the name of the person she loathed most.
"Father." She snarled, disgust dripping from her words. Danuja chuckled.
"Hello, my child. So, I know you hate beating around the bush so I'll get to the point." Akari waited, expecting the worse.
"I want you to come to Beijing and attend my prestigious night school." Akari scoffed.
"In your dreams."
"But Akari, I only want the best for you. I care for you-"
"Care for me my ass. You left my mother. You left me. You left us when we needed you the most. So you can take your proposition, and shove it up your ass. My answer is no." Danuja sighed.
"I knew you would say that. Which is why I took some precautions. You know, the law firm that first took away your mother's house, I own it. So, I ordered them to take the house if you say no."
"Isn't that illegal?" Akari mused.
"No, because you don't have a stable job. And, I also know that the house is your mother's final resting place. So, what if I take it away? The urn would become theirs, and trust me, I will let them destroy it." Akari sucked in a breath and glared at the wall in front of her.
'Damn you, dad.' She thought.
"Fine, but use my mother against me again, you'll pay back a hundredfold." Danuja shook off the threat and clapped in delight.
"Brilliant! I'll send over the plane ticket, and I'll see you on Tuesday." He hung up and looked at the woman in his lap.
"So, my beautiful wife. What revenge do you think we can do to Akari?" The woman laughed with her bright red lips.
"Don't worry, whatever we do to her, we'll make sure she ends up just like her mother!" The two laughed, thinking of all the ways they could torture her.
~Meanwhile~
Akari examined the situation in front of her. She had heard a woman laughing in the background, so she suspected that for whatever reason her father invited her to Beijing, it would end up with her being hurt. Akari smirked and looked at the knife on her bedside table.
"You wanna dance father?" Akari picked up the knife and threw it at the wall, the tip embedding itself into the wall.
"Let's dance."
