Chapter 3 - Money Problems

Saul was so happy, he had just looked through the functions of his system and he was astounded. Apparently, whenever he learned a skill.

He earned something called skill points. He could assign the points to his known skills to level them up.

"Skills"

[Vusi Lvl.1 0/10]

Assigning 10 of his skill point to Vusi. He heard the notification telling him that Vusi had leveled up. Staggering he almost fell to the floor.

His mind just received information about how to more properly use Vusi.

It was like, it became part of his muscle memory. Starting to practice Vusi he felt that everything felt way more fluid like his body had already memorized all the moves. He did not have to consciously make his body move to perform Vusi.

Excitedly he went to grab the other USB for Tonem. He wanted to earn enough skill point.

Now it apparently took 20 skill point to upgrade Vusi to the next level. Saving up on skill points sounded like a good idea right now.

Watching Tonem, it was not as hard as he thought it to be. There was just a lot of moves to remember but if he could just remember the basics an learn the move. He could use the skill point to upgrade the skill.

Going outside to practice Tonem, he had some difficulty remembering the moves but he could eventually go through an entire round of Tonem.

[User has learned Tonem, 10 skill point earned.]

Assigning the skill point to Tonem he coughed up blood. His body started to shake, and he started to feel heavy it looked like learning too many martial arts skills is bad. His body could not take the toll of learning two martial art consecutively.

But luckily it was just a little blood. He quickly stabilized himself and steadying himself, was still quite happy.

He now knew that his system had unlimited potential. He now knew what he wanted to do. With his system he could be the most powerful person ever.

He knew that personal power was what mattered the most power. Power that could not be taken away from you. Power that could let you do anything you wanted and getting a few chicks on the way wouldn't be too bad.

This was the best thing that had happened to him in both of his lives. He would be a fool not to take advantage of it.

Going to the kitchen he grabbed a glass of water knowing what he would be doing for this week until he got his wings.

Going online he decided to buy a lot of martial arts manuals. Searching around, he ordered some solution that helped with the recovery of muscles tissues and cells.

Going back into the field he started to practice Tonem and Vusi. His system had helped him memorize the move by memory. But how he used the skill still depended on his experience.

Going back into his house he went and had a shower. He had practiced for about 3 hours, and he was exhausted. His body was not used to the strain.

He did not work out a lot. So just standing up one day and deciding to practice martial art was just too stressing on his body.

It was quite remarkable that his body already held up for so long. Going online he decided to check for more martial arts to buy. Deciding to just by random ones, he was denied because he did not have enough money in his bank account.

Grabbing his com he called his mom. "Mom, I don't have money in my account"

"Sorry son, Your father says until you get yourself back together, you're not getting any allowance."

Closing his com-link, he sighed. He knew that this was probably what was going to happen, His father did not really like him due to the fact that he could not pilot a covenant. At least he already paid for his modification and already coming manual.

Going online he decided to join martial arts competitions. The prize reward for the competitions was always a lot of money, someone once won 100,000 UC.

He stood up, he had already signed up for a competition next week. Coming back he already grabbed the martial arts and drug solution program. This time he chose a defensive technique, with a bunch of other techniques.

The first one was called Jorin. Jorin is a defensive martial art that focuses on outmaneuvering your opponent by focusing solely on your opponent's movements, figuring out their weakness and exploiting it. The primary focus lies on both punches and agility and it often relies on the agility and reflexes of the defender.

The biggest strength of Jorin is a lack of nonsense and a pure focus on efficiency. By taking advantage of the sense of balance of both fighters your opponent is likely to exhaust themselves, giving you the perfect opportunities to retaliate.

On the other hand, the biggest weakness of Jorin is that it often requires the opponent to make the first move. If you're facing an opponent that doesn't your strengths quickly become far less viable.

The last one was a destructive technique that focused on taking down the opponent it was called Dunari.

Dunari is a strictly offensive martial art that focuses on clobbering your opponent through swift dodges, quick movements, and even faster attacks.

The primary focus lies on both elbow jabs and shifts in balance and it often relies on the quick thinking and endurance of the defender.

The biggest strength of Dunari the high amounts of energy put behind every single strike. By profiting from the blocks of yourself your opponent often lacks the knowledge to respond well enough, further giving you leverage to work with.

The biggest weakness of Dunari is a common feeling of being in control even when you might not be. When you're overconfident you'll have to rely on a different bag of tricks.

Saul was so happy, with Jorin he did not have to worry about the side effects of Dunari. He had a week to practice for the competition and he was looking forward to it.
