Saul was quite shocked after witnessing the shocking might of Alex. Even though Alex was not as big a Damian, he was able to beat him with no effort.
After Alex had won the round. Saul did not find any other competition worth watching. Eventually, the competition for group A had come to an end. The winners of the group. The referee after the last match came to announce the result for groups A's battle.
"Gordon Warner, Leland Ferry, Meg Riggs, Wade Wilson, Rumaysa Henderson, Jez Manning, Regan Farmer, Lara Sanford, Sia Hayward, and Alex Barron. You all have advanced into the second round."
When the finalist of group A came back into the waiting room. Everyone had a new found respect for each other. Saul was excited when he saw Alex.
"I never knew you were so strong," Saul replied a bit fervently. "What can I say, I told you I was strong," Alex replied with a bashful smile.
It was at that moment that the intercom turned on.
"ππ³π°πΆπ± π, π±ππ¦π’π΄π¦ π©π¦π’π₯ π§π°π³ π΅π©π¦ π’π³π¦π―π’."
Saul not being part of group B, sat down with Alex. Preparing to watch the other upcoming matches.
When group B had finally reached the arena. The referee repeated the instruction, he gave to group A. It did not take long for them to settle in. Then finally the match started.
"Phoneix Chaffer and Keiron Frost. Please enter the arena."
The moment Phoneix entered the stage. Saul immediately marked him as an enemy. Phoneix has slitted black eyes that are like two drops of oil.
His slickly combed, curly, umber hair was worn in a style that reminds you of a plume of smoke. Phoneix was tall and has a thin build.
With his dark skin, he made you think of a dead tree. He has small hands and small feet. His wardrobe was utilitarian and with only red and black colors.
Keiron, on the other hand, was quite the opposite of Phoneix. He had large amber eyes, that looked especially lively. His hair was loosely hanging giving him an elegant look.
Keiron also had really pale skin, it made you think of ice if you saw it. He was extremely lean, his tight-fitting clothes showed off the streamlined shape of his muscle.
Seeing that both competitors were ready. The referee declared.
Fight!!!!!!
Both Keiron and Phoneix did not rush at each other. Observing each other closely. You could see in their eyes they were apprehensive of each other. Phoneix finally decided to charge at Keiron.
Throwing a kick at his face. Keiron already expecting the move was able to easily dodge it. Phoneix seeing that his move was blocked was not shocked. He pulled out a dagger hidden in his sleeve, aiming for Keiron's stomach.
Saul at the sight was alarmed. He thought that Keiron was going to die the moment the dagger hit him. Alex as if sensing his worry said, "Don't worry, as long as the dagger does not take his life instantly. He will be okay, there are many doctors on the scene."
Saul at that point was shocked at the ruthlessness showed by the people of this world. It was just a little competition and it was already life-threatening. Looking at Keiron, he was still anxious if he could dodge the move.
His worries were unfounded when Keiron as if already expecting the move. Blocked it with a dagger of his own. "It looks like I have to buy a dagger for myself after the competition," Saul said out loud.
Alex was quite speechless, hearing what Saul said.
Back to the fight. Both Phoneix and Keiron were both constantly trading on's and off's, in battle. None could seem to get the upper hand. Saul thought that the battle was progressing quite normally until Phoneix sprouted a pair of bird wings.
No looked shocked at the scene. Still looking at the scene, trying to guess who would win. "Keiron is quite at a disadvantage now," he heard Alex mutter. Turning to look at Alex, he said a little angrily, "Don't you think it's an unfair advantage."
"This is a competition for geniuses Saul. I'm sure Keiron knew that people would have modification but he still joined regardless. Don't underestimate him, he might have some tricks up his sleeve."
Watching the scene at the arena. Keiron was being picked on by Phoneix. Everytime that Phoneix landed a hit, adding to his injuries. Keiron would not be able to land a hit.
Saul knew it was a war of endurance and patience right now. Phoneix looked quite relax, flapping his chicken wing. Looking at him now, he looked quite compatible with it.
Keiron himself was looking quite pathetic. The attacks of Phoneix had left him a bloody mess, with tons of dagger marks. He did not look like he could last any longer.
"He's going to lose," Saul said despondently. Looking at the situation, he did not see any way that Keiron could survive this mess. "I wouldn't be too sure about that," Alex said mysteriously.
Phoneix started looking impatient, he did not like that he was taking too much time to deal with Keiron. Thinking on a plan, he decided if he was going to win this fight quick it was his only option.
Without a hint of hesitation. Phoniex swooped down for a final attack at Keiron. Ad he landed his attack on Keiron. Keiron as if already expecting his move, sprouted an ice blue tail.
This time, Phoneix was not able to escape. Keiron quickly wrapped his tail against Phoneix wing, dragging him down from the air. Phoneix landed pathetically on the ground.
Keiron took that as an opportunity. Pouncing on Phoneix like a tiger, he rained blows upon blows unto his face. He did not even take a look to see if Phoneix was still conscious.
The referee seeing that Phoneix was likely knocked out screamed, "The winner of this round is Keiron Frost."
Saul was quite surprised at the unexpected turn of events. Clenching his fist, he now knew that he was quite inexperienced. Without the system, in this world, he would be nothing.
He swore to himself in his heart, that he would grow up. And with or without the system, he will be somebody to fear. As if feeling Saul frustration. Alex smiled encouragingly patting him on his back.
