Chapter 37 - Tears, Trauma and Edmond

Avery was getting ready in his room for the debutante. An hour ago he had received a report from the body guard that watched over Olivia on the bus, she apparently missed her bus and was not seen on the road. Strange he thought as she would have texted him if she changed her plans.

He tried getting in touch with Peter who was stationed near the bus stop but when Peter didn't answer his call he knew something was wrong. His men were loyal to the core and would never abandon their post for any reason. As he was about to send out an emergency alert to the A team, Eli called him.

Eli told him everything he that happened, from Olivia's concern, to her bloody body, the men he left in the alley and about her current location. The family doctor to the Delmira's thought it was best to leave Olivia with them as there were women in the estate that could look after her 'needs' for the time being.

Avery thanked Eli for everything he had done and that he didn't need to dirty his hands that he would take care of the rest. Avery wanted to make sure the people involved would pay dearly for what they have done.

It took Avery quite a bit of time to calm down, he smashed everything in his study before he went to the shower to wash off the sweat and small amounts of blood. As her was putting on his cuff links he called out to Edmond "Yes your majesty?" he purred as he stepped out of the shadows. Avery looked past him and stared as a small red velvet box sitting by his bedside table.

"Oh darling don't tell me your still sore about what happened before with Eli." he said as he started to curl his arms around Avery's shoulders. "He's a good kid, he just wanted to learn a few pointers about first aid and you just happened to be the best subject to practice with." he purred.

Avery's face didn't flinch as he stared at the box unable to look Edmond in the eyes. Edmond took the opportunity to try and get more intimate with Avery, he started to bring the back of his hand up to Avery's face to stroke his cheek when he heard the words that made his heart stop.

"Olivia was attacked and may have been raped." Avery said coldly, Edmond immediately dropped his hand and stepped in front of Avery. Making him look into his blood thirsty, copper eyes. He raised his hand and undid his pompadour hairstyle, allowing the salt and pepper hair to fall dangerously over his face. "You know what to do Edmond." Avery commanded.

Edmond's eyes glowed dangerously behind his locks of hair, as he turned to leave he heard Avery call out to him "Edmond... they also killed Peter so make sure that the f*cker who finished him is dealt with 'extra' care." Edmond looked back revealing a carnivorous grin as Avery adjusted his bow tie in the mirror "They touched my family... I make no promises Avery." walked out and slammed the door.

.....

There was a weird blob in front of Olivia's eyes again. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes and realized the blob was Samantha's worried face peeking out from behind the edge of the bed. "Hey there honey... how are you feeling?" she whispered. Olivia tried to sit up but immediately fell back against the mattress as she cried in pain "Not good." she muttered.

The worry on Samantha's face tripled "Stay in bed. I'm going to get mom and Dr. Foster! Please don't move I will be right back!" she shouted as she shot right up and ran towards the stairs. Samantha gave one last look towards Olivia "Please don't move, I promise to be right back alright." and ran down the stairs screaming "Mom! Grandma!"

Olivia rolled onto her back and realized she was it was Eli's room! As she looked up to the ceiling she could see the sky was now dark and littered with darker clouds. After a few seconds it clicked "It's dark! What time was it?!" she thought and tried to sit up. The pain was excruciating but she fought to sit up, she refused to stay laying down and with great difficultly she sat up and laid her head against the book case.

The sounds of foot steps rushing up the stairs made Olivia turn her head towards the stairs. Samantha gasped as she rushed over to the bed "I asked you not to move!" she shouted as she stretched out her arms. Olivia's eyes widened, as she seen her hands reach out towards her she violently pushed herself sideways and screamed "No!".

Samantha froze, Mrs. Delmira gazed at an older lady beside her and urged her to move forward. Olivia body trembled as she curled herself in a fetal position. The elderly lady placed her hand on Samantha's shoulder and shook her head. "Hi Olivia, my name is Dr. Pamela Foster. I am here to look you over and... ask you a few questions if that's alright with you?" she said soothingly.

Olivia couldn't stop her body from shaking as she tried to push her self back up. The doctor tried to reach out to help her sit up but Olivia couldn't help but yell at her "DON'T TOUCH ME!" Dr. Foster flinched at Olivia's ferocity and took a step back. Olivia tried to give them all an apologetic smile but failed to bring the corners of lips up words.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry.. I will be good.. I will be good, just don't touch me... just... just don't touch me." she whimpered as she sat herself up. Mrs. Delmira's eyes widened and quickly rushed down the stairs and out the room.

Olivia's face was paralyzed with fear and she chatted the same sentence over and over again, rocking herself and rubbing her arms "I'll be good... I'll be good... I'll be good..." Moments later Mrs. Delmira brought back Eli.

One look from Eli brought Olivia back from whatever hell she was re-living in her head. Tears started to roll down her face as her breathing started to become more erratic. "Eli... I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'll understand if you..." she couldn't finish her words as Eli rushed towards her and wrapped her in his embrace.

"No I'm sorry. If I came sooner..." Eli said with a shaky voice. Olivia shook her head as the tears rolled down her face "You came in time." she whispered. Eli broke their embrace and cupped her face as Olivia gave a shaky smile.

His eyes begging her to go on, Olivia gave a small sigh "You see after my mom died, my dad went into a dark place and scared me senseless... He only ever beaten me once in his life when he was stupid drunk and wanted to kill himself but... Uncle Robin stopped him and I've traumatized since."

Eli couldn't believe it! He couldn't picture her father even being capable of hurting her or let alone trying to kill himself but then again looking back at how he acted when he saw the state she was in he barely stopped himself from plunging the knife into the man's throat instead of his shoulder.

"Eli." she said, calling him back from his thoughts "I'm broken, I don't ever think I can get over my trauma and with this I... don't think we should be togeth..." Eli stopped her sentence with a single kiss. "Shut up and let my grandma look you over already... don't ever think you can escape from me so easily." he said sternly.

Olivia nodded and looked at Dr. Foster then at Eli "Don't leave.... please" she pleaded. Eli didn't move an inch as Dr. Foster looked her over. Mrs. Delmira tip toed towards Samantha and tapped her shoulder "Let's leave them be. I will give your father an update after I talk to your grandmother." she whispered to Samantha. Samantha's tears were rolling down in waves as she nodded her head in agreement. They both ever so quietly left the room.

....

It was late when Olivia heard someone calling out her name. She tried to get up but realized something heavy was holding her in place, she looked up and remembered falling asleep in Eli arms. Dr. Foster gave her some muscle relaxants and she was finally able to move without wincing. "Olivia..." a purr called out to her, Olivia slid out of Eli's embrace and quietly moved out of the bed.

She took a few steps towards the shadows of the room, when suddenly two copper eyes started to glow in the dark. "Edmond!" she whispered as loudly as she dared. Edmond stepped out of the shadows and looked over Olivia "Princess they did a number on your body... how are you feeling?" he asked. "Could be better." she sighed.

Edmond shoved his hands into his pockets and pulled something shinny. "Will this make things better?" he asked optimistically. Olivia gasped "Where did you find this?" Edmond moved closer and clasped the necklace around her neck. "I went hunting." he said with a smirk on his face. "I'm not full yet, I still want more but I wanted to see how you were doing first before I go out again."

Olivia moved in to give him a hug before he had to go. "Edmond... thank you." she whispered before he melted into the shadows again leaving her standing alone in the dark.
