"You nervous?" Blair asked as she fixed an ornament in Olivia's hair. "...." Blair took a step back to get a better view of her handiwork. "Ya... no, my heart is not in this. Autumn you take over!" Blair shouted as she slammed the brush on to the vanity.
Autumn shook her head "If your heart is not in it, what good will I be? You know how I feel about this and we can't even talk about it because a report will make it's way back to Avery and who knows what kind of punishment he will come up with."
Blair and Autumn both looked at Olivia sadly, there were no words they could say that would make Olivia feel better but then again with what Autumn just said, they couldn't help imagine the harm that they could have caused her just for their opinion.
It had been months and the relationship between Olivia and Avery was drastically falling apart at the seams. Both girls could figure out the reason why but as they learned if they even uttered a word of doubt or complaint against Agni, Olivia was the one punished for it.
They cringed ever time they looked back. Phone privileges taken away, chats and gaming taken away, girl time and dates taken away. At one point they were pretty sure she was locked away in her room when they hadn't heard from her in 3 solid days. She didn't go to school or work and the only thing Agni would say when she couldn't pass the phone was she was too sick to talk.
There was a knock on the door, an ashen faced Laila peeked her head in "It's time to go." she grimly announced and closed the door. It had been a while since they seen or heard about the twins but this was bad, they looked at Olivia with horror in their eyes.
Olivia stuck in a few more bobby pins and got off of her chair. "You heard Laila, it's time to go." she whispered and tried to leave, Blair caught her wrist, keeping her from escaping "No! Just wait a minute, what they hell happened to Laila she looks like she half dead!" Blair shouted. Olivia looked at Blair with dead fish eyes, void of any human emotion "I don't know what you mean? She's always been like that." turned around and went out the door.
Blair held Autumn back as she watched Olivia descend down the stairs "What the f*ck is going on?! Does Avery not have any eyes? What is going on with Olivia? To everyone?!" she whispered viciously. Autumn just gave her a side glance "I was wrong she's not a witch.... she's a f*cking demon. As for Avery I don't know... last I heard he's been practically living at the office the last few weeks." she whispered back.
"My God, we can't let them go through with this! We need to object or do something to stop the ceremony from happening!" Blair's eye blazed with anger. Autumn shook her head and gave her a bitter-sweet smile. "Your so innocent Blair... that's why I love you but the ceremony is just for show they got their marriage license a few days ago." Blair's jaw dropped and Autumn left her rooted to the spot as she walked down the stairs.
There wasn't a lot of people outside, no one really wanted to come and gave the excuse that the weather was not the greatest but in truth they couldn't stomach the sight of Agni and what Olivia had become under her care.
The ones that came to show their support and blessing where there to actually check up on Olivia. They were worried as they hadn't seen her in the last few weeks. Avery stood at the front nervously while he had only Robin standing behind him as his best man.
Suddenly the music started to play. Everyone looked back at the entrance and gasped as the the ladies came out. Try as they might no one could look at the bride, what they were looking at were the three young girls, smiling their brightest smile but couldn't hide the fact that they all looked deathly pale.
People wanted to believe it was nerves for everyone, that it must be scary to have a new dad and mom officially becoming part of the family or how cold it was outside. Ignorance was bliss as no one really wanted to look at what was really happening, let alone Avery.
November 17, 20XX at the Steel estate.
Avery and Agni have become man and wife before the world, there was no one who could stop fate from moving forward now.
.....
It was finally dark and people wanted to party and drink the night away. There were heaters placed in the corners of the massive tent that was erected for the occasion. While people were happily chatting to each other the new family made their rounds to each table to thank people for coming.
When they made their way to the Delmira table did the air really feel cold. "Mr. & Mrs. Steel congrats on your nuptials!" Mrs. Delmira shouted over the music with her usual void face. Olivia felt a twitch on her mouth as she looked at the Delmiras table.
"Thank you for coming even though it's not the most ideal weather, today." Avery shouted back. Mrs. Delmira flicked her wrist "Snow, blowing winds, minus 20 who cares! Any excuse to see Olivia really." Avery nodded at her comment but became tight lipped "You know I haven't had a chance to have her over at my house again in a long time.... I would love to have her come over more often you know since Eli and her are 'dating' and all." her eyes started to show a strange glint and Olivia could feel herself starting to crawl back towards the light.
Avery looked at Agni while Agni looked shocked and brought a dainty hand to her chest "Oh my! They're still dating! I thought they broke up since Olivia never talks about him at home." Olivia felt the weight of her words trying to bring her back into the darkness, Agni wanted them to break up but she refused and instead stayed silent about their relationship.
Mrs. Delmira looked Agni square in the eyes before she choose her words "Well a young lady would want to talk to their mother about matters of the heart... maybe she felt shy and wanted you to focus on your own relationship then to self-indulge her own matters."
Agni clutched at her bouquet tightly and sweetly smiled "Your right I was too busy focusing on my relationship with Avery but you can ask Olivia if she sees me as her mother or not." They all turned to Olivia and her usual bright smile was back. "Why yes mother I do!" Olivia happily shouted while color started to creep back into her face.
Agni turned back to Mrs. Delmira and gave her a triumphant look. "But mother now that you and father have now become husband and wife I can now openly talk about my love life... right?" Olivia asked smugly. Autumn couldn't hear what was going on but could tell that the spark in Olivia was starting to glow again and ran to the DJ and asked him to turn off the music.
Suddenly the music was off and Olivia took a side glance towards the DJ and saw Autumn give her the thumbs up. Olivia's smile started to brighten even more "Mother... You see I really am in love with Eli and I have taken every lessons you have taught me to heart. So i would like to ask you if I can come and go as I please when it comes to visiting the Delmiras." she said as loudly as she could.
Agni looked positively delighted allowed tears to pool in her eyes. "Oh little Livy bear, I'm so happy you called me mother for the first time! You have no idea how full my heart feels that you are asking for my permission and I would love to grant your wish but it's your father that has final say in the matter not I." she said with a shaky smile as she looked at Olivia and then to Avery.
All eyes were now on Avery. "Avery please don't forget what we talked about last time... at the debutante. There should be no reason for you to think we are untrustworthy to look after Olivia when she's in our home." Mr. Delmira said as he stood up, pride oozing from his very core.
Olivia gulped she knew she was being underhanded but she couldn't let the opportunity slip by. "Why of course Livy can go to your house whenever she wants!" he declared. Olivia let her squashed self a chance to rejoice. Her life with her new mother was not completely bleak, she found her weakness and was ready to use it any opportunity she could.
Mrs. Delmira gave Olivia a wink "Well then Olivia I guess we will see you every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday night for dinner at our place?" she asked loudly. Olivia puffed up her chest and shouted "Anything you want!"
