Synopsis
I am a snail and this was my story. I'm not an ordinary snail. I knew I was special from the beginning... from the moment I hatched that fateful day on that leaf. ------------------------------------------------- ----------- Some words from me: ------------ To the readers who started more recently and have been waiting for an update, I'm sorry. I've been away doing graduate school, now I'm on my way towards a Ph.D.! Wooo. Now that most of the hard parts of my degree has been put behind me, (definitely a lie) I think I'll try to pick up writing again. Let's say... 1 chapter a week? I'll try to see this through until the end. (Β΄β€’Ο‰β€’`)

Chapter 1 - Day 1: I was born.

I don't remember anything from my incubation period.

I was just... well... suddenly in existence.

I remember the feeling of sunlight creep over my body as it began to warm that day. But it didn't exactly hit my body. No. I was stuck within an egg and the egg was hit by light.

No that wasn't it.

I was stuck in an egg that was stuck to the underside of a leaf that was warmed by the sunlight.

Yes that was it.

Feeling that it was about time to hatch, I nonchalantly tore open the eggshell before my brothers of sisters in the clutch. Damn, I was so proud to be the first one out. Thus, I proclaimed myself to be the oldest. "Call me big brother!" I called out to my brethren who were still confined to their eggs. But none of my brothers and sisters replied or even moved.

What did you expect?

I'm a snail. I have no vocal cords to speak with so of course they couldn't have heard me silly! But the me back then didn't know and it didn't stop me from trying.

After yelling my lungs out... wait do I even have lungs? Oh I have gills. After yelling my GILLS out I soon gave up. Instead I waited for my siblings to hatch from their shells like I had. I was their big brother and I needed to witness their births for myself.

Ah the miracle of birth! The miracles of hundreds of births!

The miracle of births made me hungry.

I started chewing on the leaf we were on. Mmm delicious leaf, the leaf that reminds me of my birthplace.

Anyways, soon my brothers and sisters who had just hatched joined me in the activity. It was our first family meal! I still remember that day and will cherish it for the rest of my life.

Summary of Day 1:

It was peaceful. We all ate, pooped, then slept in our shells that night.
