I woke up on day 7 and I immediately knew that the day was going to be a great day. As always I was the first to wake up and the first to have breakfast. While eating, I looked carefully around for any clouds nearby.
'Nope.' I confirmed.
The sky was clear except for some black dots in the distance. I couldn't help myself and asked out loud "What are those!?!?".
Clearly didn't understand that I just used some sort of outdated meme that was popular amongst teens and immature people.

Day 7 was indeed a great day. It was the day I dreamt about since I was born. The day of our move! It was the day I can become a big snail and moved out of the shelter provided by our birth leaf!
I turned my two eyestalks to look at my siblings who were sleeping in there in shells. They were huddled closer than ever before as they slept on the only patch of green leaf that was present. My plan had clearly worked!
It was time for step 2: Eat the rest of the green before they woke up and guide them to a new leaf.
Slowly I glided over the the dried of patches of destroyed leaf and approached my siblings. For some reason something that day seemed different. It was as if my siblings were smaller than usual. Could they have shrunk?
"That doesn't make sense." I thought. And then I realized it.
Duh. I had grown bigger! I towered over them all and was larger than 7 by 3 mm. All that eating from the day before had made me grow in size. Apparently the nutrients from the leaf were going somewhere other than my large poops.
"Ha take that 7! I'm the larger snail now!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, I mean gills. Man. I mean Snail. I keep forgetting. Luckily none of my siblings heard me as they remained asleep in their shells. Unluckily 7 hadn't heard me as well.
Oh well.
Unaffected by 7 ignoring me, I slowly ate what was left of the leaf around my siblings. It was weird. I felt like I could eat on forever as I slid between my sleeping siblings. After an hour or so, I had finished.
'I didn't just get bigger.' I thought to myself as I had made quick work of the left over green parts of our birth leaf. 'Looks like the blessing from the heavens that I had yesterday has lasted into today as well.'
After I finished, I looked around at my work. 'Wow. Look at that, I can't believe I ate almost half the leaf in two days!' I thought. Proud of myself, I began sliding towards the stalk of the leaf: the path towards new leaves and new lands that I was going to conquer.
At this point I had completely forgotten that I made a PSA on protecting the leaf and saving the environment just days before. The inevitable loss of my birth leaf and devastation that I had caused had flew past my mind.
I was stupid back then okay?
....
Soon my siblings woke up. Slowly, each and every one of their small heads and two eyestalks poked out of their shells to greet the morning light just as I had.
'My siblings are so cute! I need to protect them as big brother. I must protect their cuteness.' I thought as I new I was responsible as big brother to protect them during our journey in the next few days.
My siblings that had just woken up looked extremely confused. Their green expanse had turned into a browned one was there was no food in sight. Taking this chance I spoke to them.
"Come lil sis's and lil bros. Come follow your big bro off of this leaf to the vast beyond. Come we must leave to find new lands and conquer them together!" I yelled out to them.
I turned around and began to move. I was very confident that they would follow me as there was no where else to go and no snail to lead them. After a few minutes, I looked back behind me.
And it was almost like magic. Some of siblings had begun to follow me as they were slowly siding behind to catch up. It may have been my new larger size or my charisma, but they appeared to be following my direction for the first time since we were born.
Yes, I was the great leader snail. The greatest of snails. The snail chieftain.
Slowly but surely, all my snail brethren began to follow behind me as I trudged off leaf and onto the branch of the tree we were on.
Looking back once more, I felt a tear well up in my eyes as I saw the browned leaf that I was leaving behind. Well I can't cry or have tears 'cause I'm a snail. But you know I was emotional okay? It was an emotional day.
....
We started our journey to find a new branch and find new leaves to eat.
I had to occasionally stop to wait for my siblings as I was faster than them, but it wasn't a problem. I loved watching my cute siblings follow me! It was like leading hundreds of small shiny stones that could move. It was a breathtaking sight that I still remember to this day.
After we made some distance into the branch, I turned around to look at our birth leaf once more. It was the only leaf on our branch. 'Weird.' I thought while I put the observation to the back of my mind as I had to focus on leading my siblings.
We spent the whole day moving along the branch. By night time, we were able to move a tens of centimeters into the branch! I know right? So much progress!
Although we were all hungry - well I assumed my siblings were hungry because I was - we slept on the hard branch that night.
