I woke up on day 5 to a cold leaf again just like the day before.
Unsurprisingly it was the same damn cloud again who was blocking the sun from reaching my leaf. But unlike the day before, it was different. This time the cloud had brought some friends.
They surrounded the sun like they wanted to hog its warmth all to themselves.
"Hmph... I'll teach you all who you're messing with! I can take you and your friends." I shouted as I puffed up my muscular body in order to try to intimidate the group of clouds.
It was a mistake.
Instead of the cloud running away like the day before, the cloud and its friends grouped together. As I continued to flex my shiny muscular bod in their direction, they had begun darkening as the sun that was passing through them became dimmer and dimmer.
I had made a big mistake.
Soon they began to swirl and grow in size as they continued to combine into a dark mass.
Then suddenly in the blink of a eye, a flash of light shot out of them and hit the earth and trees in the distance below the clouds.
Then seconds later...
Boom. The tree that I was on shook as the shockwave from the bolt of light had reached it.
'Maybe they are a bit too strong for me at the moment.' I thought. 'Maybe I should stop...'
But it was too late.
Soon the clouds started to move towards my direction and covered the sky above me. A strong wind began to pick up as they moved closer and closer. Eventually their bodies covered the sky above me.
Boom. Boom. Boom.
My leaf shook more with the power of their attacks as they missed my tree. Instead, they had hit some trees nearby.
Instead of stopping my intimidation, I did the something even more stupid.
"I'm not afraid of you or your friends!" I yelled at them.
"HA! What kind of aim is that?" I yelled out as one more bolt of light hit another tree nearby.
Yes. I stuck my ground and even taunted them.
And then...
Silence.
They had stopped launching bolts of light around.
Relishing in my quick wit. I thought I hurt their feelings.
But it didn't. They had paused momentarily because only to prepare another type of attack. It was a disgusting attack. It was an AOE attack that hit the tree I was on and everything in the vicinity.
AOE...? O.O
Oh, area of effect... wait ... area of effect?
Their attack second started with a few small pats as my birth leaf was hit by some sort of clear liquid. What was this mysterious liquid? I didn't now. I could only guess what it was as it flowed down the leafs surface and off the edges of the leaf.
I shivered at the thought of the disgusting actions they had committed to produce the liquid. I mean, I knew what the steps I had to go through to produce the clear mucous that I slid over in order to move so their liquid was probably just as disgusting.
The second attack didn't end with a few pats. No... Soon the volume and the number of droplets that were hitting my birth leaf had increased significantly and began to jostle the leaf more and more.
Disgusted, I hid into my shell for the first time other than to sleep.
I wasn't afraid of them okay? I was just disgusted at the amount of unknown liquid they were releasing above me and onto my leaf that I couldn't watch anymore.
What? It's not unknown liquid, but water? It was rain?
No it wasn't. It was unknown liquid!
From the safety of my shell, I stuck my two eye stalks and observed the situation. I had a hard time seeing as the unknown liquid had knocked around my leaf which had blurred my vision.
The the blurriness I saw something move and pass into my field of view. The patterns and blurred coloration of that shell was still fresh in my mind from the days before. I knew what it was. I mean, who it was.
It was 13.
"NO! 13!" I cried out as her body flew straight past me and hit the forest floor that was who knows how far below.
"Why? Why did this have to happen? She was so young..." I cried out while.
Thinking back now, maybe it was my naming sense had a connection with her death and maybe she wouldn't have died if I didn't taunt the clouds in the first place... But Instead of considering my contribution to the situation, I stopped hiding in my shell and came out to yell at the clouds above me.
"WHY DID YOU KILL HER? SHE DID NOTHING TO YOU. YOU KILLED MY ONE AND ONLY SISTER!"
Yeah. I know. I was stupid back then okay? I thought I could speak. And if I could, the hundreds of other sisters that were also on the leaf would have heard me.
Instead of stopping, the clouds replied with a torrent of clear liquid and more bolts of light.
Seeing that my words had the opposite effect, I hid back into my shell and began planning my revenge. I knew I had to get stronger. I had to get stronger to avenge my dead sister.
I didn't eat that day, nor did my siblings as the storm lasted all day and well into the night.
Summary of Day 4: I didn't eat, nor sleep. I planned revenge for my dear dead sister. RIP 13.
