Chapter 7 - New bonds, create new emotions

Life with Vita had been nothing short of chaotic yet warm.

At first, Noa thought she was just an annoying older sister, always teasing him, invading his space, and forcing him into things he didn't want to do. But over time, he realized that Vita was also his protector.

She never let anyone bully him.

She always cheered him up.

And most of all, she made him feel like he belonged.

One morning, as Noa and Vita helped Anna with shopping, Noa noticed something odd.

The marketplace was packed with children.

The same children who used to bully him.

Noa froze. A small part of him wanted to turn and run back home before they noticed him.

But before he could, Vita grabbed his hand and dragged him straight into the crowd.

"Come on, Noa! Time to meet my friends!"

"W-Wait, what?!"

In an instant, Noa was thrown into a chaotic whirlwind of voices, laughter, and new faces.

Vita introduced him to dozens of kids—some older, some younger, some his age.

"This is Noa!" she announced proudly. "He's my adorable little brother!"

"Little brother?" One of the boys, a tall kid named Derrick, raised an eyebrow. "Wait, is he the one we—"

Before he could finish, Vita's elbow slammed into his ribs.

Derrick coughed. "I-I mean! Nice to meet you, Noa!"

Noa stood there, awkwardly shifting. "Uh… hi?"

To his surprise, the kids didn't mock him.

Instead, they started chatting, playing, and pulling him into their games.

Vita had completely changed the way they saw him.

For the first time, Noa wasn't an outsider.

He was just another kid, playing and laughing with friends.

As the sun set and the group slowly scattered, Noa stood there, staring at Vita.

She grinned at him. "See? Told you they're not so bad."

Noa's chest felt strange.

A feeling he couldn't quite name.

Warmth?

Comfort?

Or… happiness?

He looked up at Vita and, for the first time, smiled.

"…Thank you."

Vita blinked, then smirked and ruffled his hair.

"Heh. That's what big sisters are for, Noa."

And with that, they walked home together, hand in hand.

A New World Through Vita's Eyes

After the eventful day in the marketplace, Noa's days became busier and livelier—all because of Vita.

She was everywhere in his life.

From the moment he woke up, she would drag him into new things.

"Noa, wake up! Time for your morning lesson!"

He groaned, trying to bury himself under the blankets, but Vita ripped them away.

"NOOAAA!" she yelled dramatically, "If you don't get up, I'll eat your share of breakfast!"

That got him out of bed real fast.

 Reading & Storytelling

After breakfast, Vita would teach Noa how to read.

At first, Noa was frustrated.

The letters looked strange and confusing, and his head hurt trying to understand them.

But Vita was patient.

"See this? This is your name." She pointed to the letters and sounded them out. "No-a."

Noa squinted. "Why is it so weird?"

Vita giggled. "Because letters are tricky. But once you learn them, you can read stories all by yourself!"

At night, she would tell him stories about her time at the Paradise Academy.

"I had to study so much," Vita complained, "but it was fun! We had duels, treasure hunts, and even a midnight escape where we sneaked into the kitchen to steal food!"

Noa's eyes widened. "You stole food?!"

Vita smirked. "Of course! What's life without a little fun?"

Noa thought about it. "…Sounds exciting."

Vita ruffled his hair. "Then I'll make sure you have the best life ever, little brother."

 Games & Adventures

Vita also introduced him to new games.

She taught him how to carve wooden figurines, how to play strategy board games, and even how to climb trees without falling.

They would sneak into the kitchen, stealing bread and honey, and sit on the rooftop eating their stolen treasures.

"You see, Noa," Vita said one night, licking honey off her fingers, "adventure isn't just about going somewhere far. It's about making every day exciting."

Noa chewed on his bread, thinking.

Before meeting Vita, his world had been small.

Now, it felt bigger, brighter, and filled with endless possibilities.

 Making Fun of Edward

One of Vita's favorite hobbies was making fun of Edward.

"Dad is like a giant bear," she whispered to Noa one evening.

Edward, who was nearby, turned and narrowed his eyes. "I heard that, Vita."

Vita grinned. "But you can't deny it, Dad! Look at you! All grumpy and growly!"

Edward sighed. "Why did I raise such a troublesome child?"

Vita nudged Noa. "Come on, say something funny!"

Noa hesitated, then mumbled, "Uh… Edward snores like a dying boar?"

Silence.

Then Vita burst out laughing.

Edward sighed. "You two are a menace."

Noa and Vita high-fived.

 A Feeling Called Happiness

As days passed, Noa realized something.

He wasn't just existing anymore.

He was living.

With Vita's warmth, Edward's grumbling care, and Anna's gentle love, Noa felt something new—a feeling he couldn't describe.

Was this what it meant to have a family?

One night, as he lay in bed beside Vita and Anna, he whispered,

"Vita… what do you like the most in this world?"

Vita turned over, thinking. "Hmm… I guess I like adventure. And family."

She poked Noa's forehead. "What about you?"

Noa blinked.

For the first time, he knew his answer.

"…I like this."

Vita smiled and pulled him into a hug.

"Then let's make sure this never changes, okay?"

Noa nodded.

For the first time, he felt safe, happy, and… home.
