Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Growing

"Akira, this is the bento I made for you," a shy girl said, glancing at the boy sitting by the classroom window.

"No, thank you," the boy coldly refused, then stood up and walked out of the classroom.

"It's fine, Kuriko," a small girl spoke up.

"Did you hear? Akira's parents died," a little boy whispered.

Akira heard this but didn't pay it any mind. Although his parents had died in this world, to him, they were strangers. Even though they were the parents of the body he had taken over, he didn't feel much for them. The emotions he felt were just those of the original owner of the body.

In the past few days, Akira had completely understood this world. It was the world he had seen in his previous life, a world from a show called Jujutsu Kaisen. This world was filled with curses, and it was undoubtedly dangerous. Moreover, this world highly valued talent. During this time, he had also discovered that his Sharingan was more of a "born technique" rather than just a bloodline power. His cursed energy was connected to a technique in his brain, which then linked to his eyes. That's why he could deactivate his Sharingan, unlike Satoru Gojo, whose Six Eyes were always active.

You might wonder why Akira was so sure that this world was from Jujutsu Kaisen. It was because, a few days ago, a group of people had come to his house. Thanks to the Sharingan, he sensed their cursed energy before they realized it. He pretended to be injured and fainted, and when they "rescued" him, he overheard their conversation.

They were talking about jujutsu sorcerers, including a discussion about the prodigy from the Gojo family—Satoru Gojo. He was so talented that he had a bounty of one billion yen on his head, and recently, the price had gone up.

This information was incredibly useful for Akira. Not only did it confirm that this world was indeed from Jujutsu Kaisen, but from the timing, he could tell that the main story hadn't started yet. He only knew the events that happened later in the story, but he wasn't familiar with the past. However, that was fine for him.

He was then taken to the hospital, which he accepted as the reality of this world. He had inherited the assets of his deceased parents. Originally, due to his young age, he was supposed to be sent to an orphanage, but he insisted on living alone, and there was nothing anyone could do about it. After all, in this world, many people died every year, so no one cared much. His surname was also changed to Uchiha (he didn't feel the need to explain why).

"This world is really filthy," Akira muttered as he looked around the beautifully landscaped campus. In some places, however, there were things only he could see—those disgusting curses that made him want to vomit.

On his way to the convenience store, he saw a curse lurking in a corner. With a wave of his hand, a blade of cursed energy formed and slashed at the curse. Although these curses weren't a threat to anyone, they were just too ugly. After experimenting with his Sharingan and some of the feedback from his techniques, Akira had gained some control over his powers. He thought to himself, Maybe, the true strongest might not be you after all.

Four years passed. A boy dressed in black walked with a fox-like curse by his side. The fox's eyes mirrored those of the boy.

"Let's go, Kurama."

The boy was, of course, Akira. The fox was a curse he had discovered while exorcising curses, and he used the power of his Sharingan to control it.

Upon hearing Akira's words, the fox trotted over to his side.

The three-tomoe in Akira's eyes began to spin rapidly and then merged together, forming a shape resembling a shuriken. Then, both Akira and the fox's bodies twisted and disappeared from the spot.

"You're back, Akira," said a middle-aged man in a suit, who appeared in front of Akira.

"Yes, Uncle Asano. After all, the curse was only a Grade 2," Akira said indifferently. Hearing this, the middle-aged man twitched his lips, thinking to himself, Only Grade 2?

"Well, Akira, as you know, jujutsu sorcerers are scarce, so I had to trouble you with this one," Asano remarked. He knew Akira's lazy personality, and in reality, a Grade 2 curse wasn't much of a challenge for Akira.

"Alright, transfer the fee to my account later," Akira said, not saying much more. His figure then blurred and vanished from Asano's sight.

"This kid is really growing stronger," Asano muttered.

"Yeah, I wonder how he would fare against someone from the Gojo family," another man in a suit said.

"Who knows? Such geniuses aren't something we can guess at," Asano replied.

Back home, Akira lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling as he muttered, "This is really an interesting world. By the way, what technique will my eyes create next? Last time, it was Kagutsuchi... What will it be this time?" Akira murmured to himself.

It was only when he awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan that he understood the true abilities of his eyes. When it first awakened, he had Amaterasu and Kagutsuchi, but the ultimate Mangekyō technique had yet to be born. However, the feedback from his Sharingan told him that he could still awaken other techniques.

"But come to think of it, my born technique actually has two abilities," Akira muttered. He then shook his head.

"Not exactly... It's still just one," Akira denied. Why? Because his body was peculiar. His vast cursed energy was far greater than that of the future "kit kat" (Satoru Gojo), and his cursed energy kept growing. Moreover, his ability to regenerate cursed energy and physical stamina was astonishing. This must be the body of a Sage. Even when he used the Mangekyō, his vision didn't deteriorate.

"Looks like in the future, I'll be able to awaken that terrifying ocular power," Akira thought as he fell asleep.

In the days that followed, Akira continued living an ordinary life—going to school, exorcising curses for some extra money to make ends meet. He sold the house his biological parents left him and bought a bigger, more comfortable one.
