Wind lay on his bed, his phone resting on his chest as he stared at the ceiling. His fingers twitched every few seconds, tempted to pick up the phone again. Should he do it? Should he text Sea?
It had been a few days since their conversation in the car, since they'd agreed to this ridiculous one-month trial. And yet, neither of them had made the first move.
Wind bit his lip. He wasn't the type to hesitate. If this were anything else arguing with Sea, calling him out, teasing him he'd have done it without a second thought. But this? Asking Sea on a date?
His phone lit up with a notification, making his heart leap. But it was just May spamming their group chat with memes.
Wind groaned and rolled onto his stomach, staring at his phone. Before he could stop himself, he opened their private chat and started typing.
Hey…
He erased it.
You busy?
Delete.
Let's go out.
His thumb hovered over the send button. Then, before he could overthink it, he hit send.
Wind tossed his phone away and covered his face with his hands. What was he doing? Why was his heart racing? This was just to see if their feelings were real. That's all.
His phone buzzed, and he scrambled to grab it.
Sea: Huh? Where?
Wind exhaled sharply. He could still back out, say it was nothing. But instead, his fingers moved on their own.
Wind: Tomorrow. Meet me at 5 PM. I'll send the location later.
There was a long pause. Wind stared at the screen, heart pounding. Then
Sea: …Okay.
Wind blinked. That was it? Just "okay"? No teasing? No questioning?
Wind: Don't be late.
Sea: I should be telling you that.
Wind felt warmth creep up his neck. He turned off his phone and rolled onto his back, staring at the ceiling.
Tomorrow. A date. His first date with Sea.
And he had no idea what to expect.
