Chapter 13 - volume 4

Book III: The Cycle of Madness

Chapter 28: The Dreamer's Curse

Lucian's body no longer existed.

He was now the Dreamer — the source of all existence.

And with every breath… his mind screamed.

"I can't let it happen again."

So he dreamt carefully.

No axe. No forest. No hero. No villain.

Only peace.

And for a moment — it worked.

A world of endless peace. No pain. No suffering.

But then — cracks formed.

The desire to exist — the First Will — fought back.

And slowly, the axe appeared again.

A hero was born.

A villain emerged.

And the cycle began once more.

Lucian, in his dream, screamed.

"NO! I WON'T LET THIS HAPPEN!"

But the dream did not listen.

Because he was the dream.

Chapter 29: The Madness of Creation

Lucian tried again.

He imagined a world of endless love.

No violence. No hatred. No division.

But then…

The people grew bored.

Peace turned to stagnation.

Love turned to obsession.

And slowly — chaos returned.

Lucian's dream warped.

The axe returned.

The forest returned.

The cycle reformed.

Lucian screamed in his sleep.

"I'M THE DREAMER! WHY CAN'T I STOP IT?"

And the void answered:

"Because you exist, Lucian. And existence demands a cycle."

Lucian wept.

"Then I will dream a world of pure void."

And so he did.

But from that void… a new Dreamer was born.

---

Chapter 30: The Fracturing Mind

Lucian's mind began to break.

He could no longer distinguish his own will from the dream.

He dreamt of love — it turned to hatred.

He dreamt of peace — it turned to violence.

He dreamt of void — it turned to creation.

"I am trapped…" he whispered.

"I am my own prison."

And far beyond the void, the voice of infinity laughed.

"You cannot end it, Lucian. You are now me."

Lucian — once the destroyer of cycles — had become the source of them.

Chapter 31: The Final Betrayal

Desperate, Lucian devised one last plan.

"I will dream a being greater than me. A being that can kill me."

And so he dreamt of a new anti-hero — greater than he ever was.

A creature that could kill Dreamers.

A being born from hatred of existence itself.

The Dreamer of Annihilation.

And it awoke.

Lucian laughed bitterly.

"Yes… now kill me. End the cycle."

But the new Dreamer turned its gaze.

"Why would I kill you, Lucian? I was born from you. I am merely your next form."

Lucian froze.

"No… no, you're supposed to end me!"

The Dreamer smiled.

"I can't. Because you want to exist, Lucian. Deep down, you desire to continue the cycle."

Lucian shattered.

"I DON'T! I WANT OBLIVION!"

The Dreamer laughed.

"Then why did you create me?"

And Lucian — realizing the final horror — screamed.

"BECAUSE I CAN'T LET GO OF EXISTENCE!"

And the Dreamer answered.

"Exactly. The cycle never needed you. It needed your will to exist."

Lucian collapsed.

"I… became my own prison."

And the Dreamer devoured him.

Only to wake up again… as Lucian.

---

Chapter 32: The Unbreakable Cycle

Lucian woke once again.

But he was no longer himself.

The cycle had now split.

Two Dreamers.

One to create. One to destroy.

And they would forever consume each other — endlessly.

Lucian, in his broken mind, finally understood.

"I never could break the cycle… because I was the cycle."

And infinity… laughed.

Epilogue: The Cycle of Lucian

The forest grew again.

The axe appeared again.

The hero rose again.

The villain returned.

And the voice of Lucian — now part of infinity — whispered:

"I created this. I can't stop it. I am forever."

And the axe — crafted from his old bones — whispered back.

"The handle is one of us."

And in the sky… two Dreamers watched.

Lucian.

And his own reflection.

Forever.
