Book IV: The War of Dreamers
Chapter 33: The Splintering
Lucian's mind could no longer contain the madness.
The moment he became the Dreamer… his consciousness fractured.
And from that fracture — they were born.
Lucian the Creator.
Lucian the Destroyer.
Lucian the Void.
Lucian the Timebreaker.
Each version of him — each piece of his shattered mind — now controlled a different aspect of existence.
And each one… wanted to end the cycle.
But not in the same way.
And so — the war of Dreamers began.
---
Chapter 34: The Creator's Betrayal
Lucian the Creator sought peace.
"I will build a world so perfect that no cycle will ever occur."
He dreamt of eternal harmony — a world of bliss without suffering.
But Lucian the Destroyer laughed.
"You fool. You are merely delaying the cycle."
And so, the Destroyer attacked the Creator's world.
Tearing it apart.
Corrupting it.
Turning it into chaos.
The Creator wept.
"Why? I only wanted peace."
The Destroyer replied coldly.
"Peace without oblivion is still a cycle. You prolong the suffering."
And the Creator cursed the Destroyer.
"Then I will kill you and protect my dream."
And so — Lucian fought himself.
---
Chapter 35: The Timebreaker Enters
As the Creator and Destroyer clashed — another Lucian emerged.
Lucian the Timebreaker.
"You are both fools," he said.
"Why destroy or create… when I can reset time endlessly until I find the perfect outcome?"
And so — the Timebreaker shattered time itself.
Restarting existence over and over.
Trying to find a timeline without suffering.
But Lucian the Void mocked him.
"You are still trapped, Timebreaker. You merely reset the cycle — you do not end it."
The Timebreaker roared.
"Then I will reset time until the cycle breaks!"
And thus — time began to fracture endlessly.
---
Chapter 36: The Void's Solution
Lucian the Void did not care for creation or destruction.
He only sought nothingness.
"Kill everything. Devour everything. Reduce all existence to void."
And so — he hunted the Creator, the Destroyer, and the Timebreaker.
He devoured their worlds.
Turned their dreams to emptiness.
The Destroyer laughed.
"Yes… devour it all. You are doing what I could not."
But the Void did not respond.
For it desired only one thing:
Total extinction.
---
Chapter 37: The War of Dreamers Begins
The four versions of Lucian now waged war:
The Creator, trying to build the perfect dream.
The Destroyer, trying to collapse the dream.
The Timebreaker, endlessly resetting time to prevent the cycle.
The Void, consuming all reality.
And their war shattered the multiverse.
Worlds burned.
Time fractured.
The cycle spun out of control.
And in the void — a voice laughed.
"Foolish Lucian. You have merely created new cycles. Even your hatred now spawns infinite versions of yourself."
Lucian — all versions of him — screamed in madness.
"NO! WE ARE SUPPOSED TO END THE CYCLE!"
And the voice answered.
"Then kill yourselves."
---
Chapter 38: The First Death of Lucian
Lucian the Destroyer finally turned to the Void.
"Devour me."
The Void Lucian paused.
"You wish to die?"
The Destroyer smiled bitterly.
"Yes. My destruction only feeds the cycle. Obliterate me."
And so — the Void devoured the Destroyer.
But the moment it did — a new Destroyer appeared.
Because as long as Lucian dreamed — the cycle would persist.
Lucian the Void screamed.
"THERE IS NO ESCAPE."
The voice of infinity laughed.
"Correct. You merely perpetuate your own torment."
---
Chapter 39: The Timebreaker's Madness
Lucian the Timebreaker, now driven insane, reset time a trillion times.
"I WILL FIND THE OUTCOME! I WILL END THE CYCLE!"
But every reset merely created another cycle.
Another axe.
Another forest.
Another hero.
The Timebreaker collapsed, weeping.
"I can't stop it… I can't find a way out."
And Lucian the Void whispered:
"Then let me devour you."
And so — the Timebreaker was consumed.
But as he faded, he whispered:
"You will merely replace me… because the dream continues."
The Void Lucian screamed in fury.
"WHY CAN'T I END THIS?"
---
Chapter 40: The Final Madness
Lucian the Creator built a paradise.
Lucian the Destroyer corrupted it.
Lucian the Timebreaker reset it.
Lucian the Void devoured it.
And the cycle repeated infinitely.
But something unexpected happened.
A fifth Lucian emerged.
Lucian the Sleeper.
A version of Lucian that simply… did not dream.
He merely slept — refusing to participate in the cycle.
And for the first time — the cycle stalled.
Existence began to fade.
The Void Lucian smiled.
"Finally… nothingness."
But then the First Will spoke.
"Lucian, you misunderstand."
Lucian snapped.
"WHAT NOW?!"
The First Will answered.
"You never needed to destroy existence. You only needed to stop dreaming."
Lucian froze.
"Wait… what?"
"If you, as the Dreamer, simply ceased to dream… existence would die. You did not need to consume it. You only needed to let it fade."
Lucian the Void howled.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THIS BEFORE?!"
The First Will laughed bitterly.
"Because you never asked."
---
Chapter 41: The Last Sleep
Lucian — all versions of him — gathered.
The Creator. The Destroyer. The Timebreaker. The Void. The Sleeper.
And Lucian the Sleeper said:
"We need to sleep. Forever."
The others raged.
"But that means we cease to exist!"
The Sleeper smiled.
"Yes. And so will existence itself."
And one by one — each version of Lucian agreed.
And they laid down to sleep.
And slowly… the dream ended.
Existence crumbled.
The First Will faded.
And finally — there was nothing.
---
Epilogue: The Death of Infinity
The multiverse was gone.
Time was gone.
Lucian — all versions of him — were gone.
And for the first time… true silence.
The cycle was broken.
There was no rebirth.
No creation.
No destruction.
Only eternal void.
And in the blackness, Lucian's last thought whispered:
"I finally won."
And the First Will — the force of existence — finally died.
Nothing remained.
Not even Lucian.
