Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: A Dream Too Sweet

The city lights flickered in the distance as Seo-Won stepped into his apartment, closing the door behind him with a tired sigh. He loosened his tie, running a hand through his golden hair before tossing his jacket onto the couch.

It had been a long day.

And yet, despite the exhaustion settling into his bones, his mind refused to rest.

He turned on the shower, letting the warm water run over his face as he closed his eyes. The droplets cascaded down his skin, washing away the tension in his body.

But no matter how much he tried to clear his thoughts…

A single image refused to leave him.

"Ha-Joon."

Seo-Won stepped out of the bathroom, a towel draped around his neck as he sat on the edge of his bed. His fingers hovered over his phone before he finally unlocked it.

There, on the screen, was a selfie Ha-Joon had taken earlier in the day—his green eyes wide and bright, his soft orange hair slightly tousled. He wasn't even trying, yet he looked effortlessly adorable.

Seo-Won exhaled sharply, pressing his thumb against his lips as he stared at the photo.

Since when did I start thinking about him this much?

Lying back, he rested a hand on his forehead, his eyes slightly open as he stared at the ceiling.

Even in the quiet of his apartment, Ha-Joon's face lingered in his mind.

Then… he dreamed

Golden light surrounded him, soft and warm like the embrace of a setting sun. The air smelled of blooming flowers, their petals swaying gently in the breeze.

Seo-Won stood in an endless field of golden grass, a place unfamiliar yet strangely comforting.

And in the distance, waiting beneath a sky painted in hues of pink and orange—

Was Ha-Joon.

His green eyes shimmered, reflecting the golden glow around him. His soft lips curved into a smile as he gazed at Seo-Won, his presence almost ethereal.

"…Seo-Won."

Seo-Won's breath hitched. The way Ha-Joon said his name—it was different. Softer. Sweeter.

He took a step forward. Then another.

And before he realized it, his hand was reaching out, fingertips grazing Ha-Joon's warm cheek.

Ha-Joon's breath caught, his cheeks flushing the faintest shade of pink. But he didn't pull away. Instead, he leaned into the touch, his lashes lowering slightly.

Seo-Won's heartbeat pounded in his ears.

Ha-Joon stepped closer, tilting his head up, their breaths mingling in the glowing light.

So close.

So, so close.

Seo-Won leaned down, the distance between them disappearing.

And just before their lips could meet—

The dream shattered.

Darkness. A sharp inhale.

Seo-Won's eyes snapped open.

His chest rose and fell rapidly as he stared at the ceiling, his heart still racing as if the dream had been real.

"…That felt too real."

Lifting a hand, he ran it through his damp hair, exhaling slowly.

And despite everything—the confusion, the disbelief, the lingering warmth of that almost-kiss—

A small, dazed smile tugged at his lips.

Even in his sleep…

Ha-Joon was just too cute to handle.
