Chapter 8: Visiting Olivia
A man shrouded in white misty smoke flexed his aura in a hospital room. Today, Eden had decided to visit his elder sister, Olivia, in the mental institution. He went there occasionally to alleviate her pain and hurt using his powers.
"Hah! What do you want, Eden?" Olivia screamed, her voice laced with hatred.
"Take pain," Eden said dismissively, his stoic face unmoved.
"Go away, go away, go away! Bring my Flynn to me, you monster!" Olivia's words were laced with venom, but Eden didn't flinch. He knew she wasn't okay.
After Ryan's death, Olivia's mental state had deteriorated. She began seeing Flynn, Eden's friend, as Ryan. Eden had killed Ryan, who had planned to overthrow him as demi-god. Olivia's hatred for Eden grew, and she became mentally ill. Eden took her to the human world for treatment and sealed her powers to prevent her from using them in front of humans.
Occasionally, Eden visited Olivia to absorb her pain. Today was no exception.
"Where is my Flynn? My husband?" Olivia's voice cracked with desperation.
"Ryan," Eden said flatly, his icy gaze unwavering.
"No! You're just like Roham, a beast, a monster! Someone, help me!" Olivia's screams grew louder, but Eden remained calm. He used his powers to put Olivia to sleep before the doctors could intervene.
Eden approached Olivia's sleeping form, holding her chin and pressing her mouth open. Black smoke escaped her mouth and entered his, as he absorbed her pain.
Afterward, Eden left Olivia's room to meet with Doctor Mac.
"Doctor?" Eden asked a nurse.
"Follow me, sir," she replied, leading him to Doctor Mac's office.
"Welcome, sir," Doctor Mac said.
"Olivia," Eden stated, his tone dismissive.
"Vanessa, please get me the VIP file for Olivia," Doctor Mac requested, and the nurse handed him the file.
"She's doing better, Mr. Eden. She takes her medication and hardly throws tantrums. If you don't mind, what happened to cause her trauma?" Doctor Mac asked.
"I killed Ryan," Eden replied nonchalantly.
The doctor and nurse gasped in shock, screaming in fright. Flynn, waiting outside, rushed in to see what was happening.
"Why did they scream, Eden?" Flynn asked.
"Wipe their memory of the past few minutes," Eden instructed.
Flynn complied, using his powers to erase the doctor's and nurse's memories. As he did, he caught a glimpse of what had caused their shock and couldn't help but smirk.
"What's wrong with this dude, Eden? Can't you behave normally for once?" Flynn thought to himself.
Eden's voice echoed in Flynn's mind via telepathy. "Dude, normal. Close your telepathy, Flynn."
Flynn complied, and Eden left him in the doctor's office.
