Chapter 10: Adriana's Demise
"Ahhh! Ahhh!" The anguished cries echoed through the air as Adriana's life slipped away.
"Things are about to change," a mysterious voice whispered. "I'll break free from my chains. Can you mend the broken?" A miniature devilish figure seemed to appear, taunting Adriana's demise.
Meanwhile, Caleb had revealed his plans to Ryder and Adriana: he would venture into the human world to experience a new life. This revelation infuriated Madison, the maid, who harbored secret feelings for Caleb despite his love for Lady Ayra.
In a fit of rage, Madison orchestrated Adriana's murder. Knowing Ryder would stop at nothing to revive Adriana, Madison manipulated him into seeking the Shadow God Roham's power. With Roham's aid, Ryder successfully resurrected Adriana.
However, Madison's schemes didn't end there. She had cleverly arranged for Roham to marry Lady Ayra, furthering her own agenda to win Caleb's affections.
As Madison reflected on her actions, she thought, "After everything I've done, he's still leaving?" Ryder had announced his plans to depart for the human world within two days.
Adriana, seated nearby, seemed lost in thought. "Perhaps Caleb is trying to move on and find new love," she pondered. "Does he still harbor feelings for Ayra?"
Unbeknownst to the group, a mysterious figure clad in a black cloak had been eavesdropping on their conversation. His piercing red eyes gleamed with an otherworldly intensity as he observed their every move.
The stranger vanished into the shadows, only to reappear before an elderly woman with snow-white hair.
"I've been unable to locate the blessing," the stranger, Luke, reported.
"Find me the girl named Ayra," the old priestess, Diana, instructed. "I've lost access to her spirit and dream world."
Luke nodded obediently. "I'll find her."
Diana, still seething from a past encounter with Eden, had cursed him, declaring that his inner demon would consume him. The only way to lift the curse was for Eden to find his mate, a siren from a noble family. Ayra, as the last surviving member of the noble family, held the key to breaking the curse.
Diana's thoughts were laced with malice. "That stubborn demon god refuses to plead for forgiveness. The last noble family's siren will be the one to break his curse. I must eliminate her before that happens."
