Chapter 4: The Vision
I don't know how long I was out. When I came to, I was lying on my bed, my head throbbing with a dull ache. The dreamcatcher was still clutched in my hand, but it felt different now. It felt... alive.
As I sat up, I noticed that my room was different. The walls seemed to be shifting and rippling, like the surface of a pond. And the air was filled with a strange, pulsating energy.
I felt a sense of disorientation, like I was floating in mid-air. And then, suddenly, I was somewhere else.
I was standing in a vast, open plain, surrounded by towering mountains that stretched up to the sky. The air was filled with a bright, shimmering light, and I could feel the energy of the Ori pulsing through my veins.
A figure approached me, walking towards me from the distance. As they drew closer, I saw that it was Babatunde, the old man from my dream.
"Ade, you have been chosen," he said, his voice low and resonant. "You have been chosen to fulfill an important destiny, one that will determine the course of human history."
I felt a surge of fear and uncertainty. What did he mean? What destiny?
But before I could ask any questions, Babatunde reached out and touched my forehead. And suddenly, I was flooded with visions and images, like a tidal wave crashing over me.
I saw ancient civilizations rising and falling, like the tides of the ocean. I saw great battles fought and won, and I saw the consequences of human actions, like ripples spreading out across the water.
And through it all, I saw the Ori, watching and guiding, like a thread running through the fabric of reality.
The visions faded, and I was back in my room, lying on my bed. The dreamcatcher was still clutched in my hand, but it felt different now. It felt like a key, a key to unlocking the secrets of the universe.
I sat up, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew that I had been given a great gift, a gift of knowledge and power. But I also knew that I had been given a great responsibility, a responsibility to use that power wisely.
And as I looked at the dreamcatcher, I knew that I was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. I was ready to fulfill my destiny, and to unlock the secrets of the Ori.
