Chapter 10: The Battle Begins
I knew that I couldn't wait any longer. The Shadow was growing stronger by the day, and I had to act fast if I was going to stop it.
I gathered my things and set out to find Babatunde. I knew that he was the only one who could help me defeat the Shadow.
As I walked through the village, I could feel the air growing thick with tension. The villagers were all huddled together, whispering and glancing nervously over their shoulders.
I found Babatunde in the center of the village, his eyes fixed intently on the horizon. He was surrounded by a group of villagers, all of whom were armed with sticks and stones.
"Ade, I'm glad you're here," Babatunde said, his voice low and serious. "The Shadow is coming. We can feel its power growing stronger by the minute."
I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew that this was it. This was the moment of truth.
As we stood there, waiting for the Shadow to arrive, I could feel the air growing colder and darker. The wind began to pick up, whipping the villagers' clothes and hair into a frenzy.
And then, suddenly, the Shadow appeared. It was a massive, dark shape that seemed to fill the entire horizon. It was surrounded by a halo of flickering, otherworldly energy.
The villagers gasped in terror, backing away from the Shadow in fear. But Babatunde and I stood our ground, our eyes fixed intently on the Shadow.
"We have to stop it," Babatunde said, his voice firm and resolute. "We have to defend our village and our people."
I nodded, feeling a surge of determination and courage. I knew that this was going to be a tough battle, but I was ready. I was ready to face the Shadow and defend everything that I held dear.
With a fierce cry, Babatunde and I charged forward, our sticks and stones at the ready. The villagers followed close behind, their faces set with determination.
The battle had begun.
