Chapter 30 – Preparing for the Blood Moon
The air inside the packhouse felt heavy with tension. Selene sat at the long wooden table in the war room, her gaze fixed on the crimson pendant resting before her. Its faint glow flickered like dying embers, yet the energy radiating from it felt alive — dark, cold, and unsettling.
"They're getting closer," Cassian muttered, his arms crossed. "That pendant is still active. Whoever's tracking Selene hasn't given up."
"We need to destroy it," Rylen growled.
Elder Marcus shook his head. "Destroying it won't stop them," he warned. "They've already marked her. That magic will linger even without the pendant."
Selene swallowed hard. "So, what do we do?"
"There's only one way," Marcus said gravely. "We need to shield you from their magic — cut off their connection before the Blood Moon."
"How?" Rylen asked.
