Chapter 33 – Whispers in the Dark
The morning light streamed through the curtains, casting golden rays across the room. Aria stirred beneath the sheets, her body still tangled with Damian's. His arm was draped protectively around her waist, holding her close as if he feared she might disappear.
For a moment, Aria let herself savor the warmth of his embrace. His steady breathing tickled her neck, and the faint scent of pine and leather clung to him — a scent that made her feel safe. But as comforting as it was, her thoughts kept drifting back to the mysterious figure Damian had chased the night before.
Why would someone from the Silver Fang pack be lurking around?
She shifted slightly, careful not to wake him. But the moment she moved, Damian's arm tightened.
"You're not sneaking away," he muttered sleepily, his voice low and gravelly.
Aria turned her head to meet his half-lidded gaze. "I wasn't sneaking," she said softly.
