Chapter 25 – Shadows of the Past
The moon hung high in the night sky, its silver glow casting long shadows over the pack house. The air was heavy with tension, as if the earth itself sensed the storm that was coming.
Selene sat on the balcony, her fingers gripping the railing as she gazed into the forest beyond. The trees swayed in the wind, whispering secrets only they could understand.
She had come so far.
From being a weak, hunted Luna to standing beside the most powerful Alpha in the region. And yet, despite everything, the fear still lurked in the back of her mind.
Would history repeat itself?
Would she lose everything all over again?
A soft knock pulled her from her thoughts. She turned to see Rylen standing in the doorway, his golden eyes watching her carefully.
"You should be resting," he said.
Selene managed a small smile. "I could say the same to you."
