Chapter Twenty-Three
A Wolf's Instinct
Zara's POV
Hunter's grip on my wrist was tight, his green eyes blazing with something dark and unreadable.
"You smell like him."
The words echoed between us, sinking into my chest like a blade.
Before I could respond—before I could even process what he had just said—he moved.
In one swift motion, he dragged me into my room, slamming the door behind us.
I want to lose control.
Wanted to yell at him.
I gasped, stumbling slightly as his power surrounded me, thick and suffocating.
"Hey—what are you—"
But then—
His lips brushed against my neck.
A deep growl rumbled from his chest, the sound sending a violent shiver through my body.
His fingers gripped my waist for half a second, his nose trailing along my skin as if trying to erase a scent that wasn't his.
And then—
He pulled away sharply.
His expression was furious.
