In the heart of America, there lies an urban city called Goldenville. The city, as beautiful as it might look, is also filled with evil cohorts and malevolent activities.
The U.S. Army has been deployed to the city to monitor any form of dubious activities; hence, the Army has appointed an army leader named Boss to oversee the activities of the Army in the city.
Boss, having attained this position, appointed a soldier, Fred Batson, to lead the Army in its operations.
Fred Batson had a wife who was now nine months pregnant. With his wife, Mavis, in labor, he decided to request permission to leave work and go home to her. Fred knocked on the door of his Boss's office.
"Who's there?" Boss asked.
"It's me. Fred," replied Fred.
"Come in," the Boss urged.
Fred came in with a pale face.
"What do you want this time around, Fred?" asked Boss.
At this point, Fred narrated the whole situation.
"My... my wife," he hesitated, "she's in labor, and I want to take permission from work to attend to her and the unborn baby. Just two weeks. I'll be back afterward."
Boss scoffed, looked down, and then looked up. "Can't do that, soldier," he said finally.
"What?" exclaimed Fred. This time around, he wanted to know exactly why Boss had turned down his request.
"Why?" Fred asked again curiously.
"Calm down, soldier. I'll tell you why," Boss said, trying to calm the angry soldier. "In the next few weeks, the enemy is going to strike. They have mobilized their formation, so we need you in the battle. We can't fight without you, so we need you to launch and lead the defense attack," Boss instructed.
"Are there no other soldiers who can lead the war? Must I be the one?" asked Fred, his face burning with anger and frustration.
"It is possible, but I have not seen any other soldier who is as brave and loyal as you are," Boss replied.
This time around, Fred turned silent. The expression on his face indicated that he was filled with frustration and anger.
"Is that your final answer?" he asked Boss.
"I'm afraid it is, soldier. I'm sorry," Boss replied.
Fred turned silent for a while and then said, "Fine!" He turned and left the office angrily.

The Goldenville City Hospital lies not far from the Space Needle. Mavis Batson, Fred's wife, was there waiting for the appointed time to deliver her second child. The truth was that the time to deliver was already up; one could tell that maybe the baby was saying farewell to the organs in his mother's womb.
At the same time, a raging war was ongoing in the Goldenville Auto Garage. The enemies of the state had attacked and tried to rob the car vendor. The U.S. Army jumped to the scene, with Fred Batson as their commander lying in front.
Back at the hospital, the moment came for the baby to be introduced into the world.
"Aah!" shouted Mavis, who was in deep pain.
"Calm down, Ma'am," one of the nurses advised. Mavis kept insisting that her husband should be called.
"Call my husband to come now," she insisted.
The nurses agreed to put her husband on the line. He was connected immediately.
Fred was in hot battle when his device rang. When he saw that it was his wife calling, he looked for a spot to hide and answered her call, which he did.
"Hello, Mavis. Is everything okay?" he asked.
"Fred, I need you here now," Mavis exclaimed. "The baby is almost out."
Fred tried to explain to her. "See, honey, I wish I could come, but my stupid boss won't let me. Don't worry. You'll be fine; I promise you that..."
Fred was saying until an interruption occurred.
It was a sudden 'BANG!'
A gunshot was heard, and then Fred fell to the floor.
"I'm not stupid..." said a voice coming from the dark midst of the smoke.
Mavis heard the gunshot; she kept screaming over the phone.
"Hello? Fred? Are you there? Talk to me!" Mavis said.
"I'm sorry. He's dead. You must be his wife. Is the baby out now?" said the voice, muffled in the wind. It happened to be a mysterious figure. The figure picked up the phone, leaving Mavis screaming over the line at the top of her voice.

"Sorry, ma'am," consoled the nurses who learned that Fred had been killed in battle.
At this time, the baby had been born: a cute-looking boy with little brown hair and blue eyes.
Mavis was deep in tears. No one could console her. She just couldn't imagine that her son would now be fatherless.
After a little while, when the coast was clear, the nurses tried to make Mavis understand that she now had a responsibility. They were suggesting names that Mavis could give the baby.
"Name him James," one of the nurses suggested.
"No, name him Fred after his father," said another.
Mavis interrupted, "His name is Jaden."
The nurses wanted to know why she chose that name.
"His father named him Jaden a few months before he was born," she added.
Elsewhere, Mavis' first son, Jordan, wandered around with his sidekick, Alan.
Jordan Batson was born a few weeks after Fred and Mavis wedded.
Now Jordan had taken it upon himself to be a crime-fighting detective. He studied criminology and was practicing his career by training himself to be a warrior. He had successfully assisted the police in investigating crimes and arresting criminals. He had made it his priority.
At this time, he was aware that he now had a baby brother. He also learned that his father died a few minutes before the baby was born.
At this point, Jordan and his sidekick, Alan, were very far from home. They traveled all the way to Boston, Massachusetts, for a criminal investigation.
It should be noted that he had sent himself into exile after his father denied him the status of being his son. Now that his father was dead, he decided to return home and see the little boy.
Having found out that his father died in battle, Jordan made an oath in front of Alan, saying that he would end the enemies of the state, and if he didn't, the young boy, Jaden, would do so. With those words, he and Alan began the journey back home to Goldenville.
