Chapter 3 - A BROTHER'S REVELATION

The enemies were going through that route. They were inside a black van, and when they got to where Jaden was standing on the road, the van stopped.

"What's that in our way?" one of them asked from the van.

"It's a little boy," said another.

The men ordered Jaden to get out of the way.

"Get out of the way, you son of a bitch," one of them ordered.

"Or what?" Surprisingly, it was Jaden who boldly asked this question.

The men were surprised.

"Huh? Or what?" one of them asked.

It was clear to them now that the boy was not afraid in any way.

"Just shoot him, Blake," one of them said.

"That should be easy to do," said one of the men whose name was Blake.

Blake got out of the van with a gun to shoot Jaden, but Jaden quickly went under him, pushed Blake to the floor, seized his gun, and shot everyone in the van. Only two escaped to tell Elias what happened.

Meanwhile, Jaden had left the scene, leaving behind four dead bodies on the road.

Later, the two escaped men ran to tell Elias all that happened.

"Elias!" they both screamed.

"What is it, you two?" Elias asked.

"You won't believe what happened," they replied.

"Out with it," Elias demanded.

"A little boy was on the road when we were driving. The boy refused to clear the way, so Blake decided to shoot him, but the boy went under Blake, seized the gun, and killed everyone. We both escaped to tell you, Elias," they explained.

Elias was dumbfounded.

"Find that boy immediately. Inform the others. Find him, or you'll pay with your lives! Bring him back, dead or alive," ordered Elias.

The men left immediately.

Meanwhile, Jordan and his sidekick, Alan, were on their way to the city. They had a plan for the young lad, but then they discovered that their water was gone.

"Ah, we're out of water," said Alan. "Are you sure we won't die of thirst before we get to the city?"

"Come on. We're almost there. I can see the lights from a distance," Jordan replied.

About an hour later, Jaden and his mother were in their sitting room when the door was busted open. The enemies of the state were inside their house. They raised their guns.

"Put your hands in the air," said one of them.

They seized Jaden; his mother struggled to save him, but he was overpowered by the men. She tried to fight back, but one of the men got frustrated and shot her. Mavis fell down... and died.

"Mother!" Jaden screamed.

The men seized Jaden and were about to leave when someone kicked the door open. It was Jordan Batson.

"He ain't going anywhere," he said.

He grabbed his weapons and hit one of them on the head. One of the men was about to shoot Jordan, but Alan kicked the guy in the chest. Jordan seized a gun and killed all the enemies in the house.

After the scene became calm, Jordan bent down to his dead mother. Jaden kept his distance from Jordan because he thought Jordan was one of the enemies.

"No, Mom. It's not yet your time," Jordan said to his mom's body.

"We're too late. She's dead," Alan confirmed.

At this point, Jaden was confused.

"No, get out of here, you killers," Jaden screamed at Jordan and Alan.

"Calm down, kid," Alan said.

"No, you're here to kill me, right?" Jaden asked.

"Shh..." hushed Jordan to Jaden, "I'm your brother. You won't believe me because you've not seen me before, but you're my brother. This dead woman here is my mother, and so is yours. Your father is also mine."

"That's a lie! My mother did not give birth to killers. You're a killer!" Jaden insisted.

Jordan kept quiet. He put his hand inside his utility vest and brought out a picture.

"Here. Look at this," he said, showing Jaden the picture.

Jaden stared at the picture. The picture illustrated Jordan, his mother, and his father. Jaden believed at once.

"So, you mean you're my brother?" Jaden responded.

"Exactly," Jordan replied. "The men who killed your mother are the same men that killed your father."

"So, my mother told me," Jaden said.

"Look at me," Jordan said. "I have weapons behind me. I dress like a warrior, which I am. I fight crimes, so I want you to continue from where I will stop."

Jaden was silent. He thought about his mother and father, who were killed by the enemies of the state.

"I'm here to train you to become that. Do you agree?" Jordan asked.

Jaden agreed at once with a nefarious smile.

Meanwhile, Boss and Elias were in the cave. They both embarked on a discussion that was capable of tearing them apart. The rest of the men were out there looking for a way to capture Jaden and bring him to the cave, while Boss and Elias used this private opportunity to discuss one or two things that might sound to be a threat to their plans as an evil organisation.

"You see, Boss," Elias said, "I foresee trouble."

"What do you mean?" Boss asked, looking confused.

Elias replied, "I can see danger ahead of us. A few minutes ago, my boys went to find the boy who killed my men, and they came back with a report that a man saved the boy and killed them. One escaped. The good news is that the boy's mother is dead because she knows the secret that you killed Fred. But I sense someone coming out of nowhere to wipe out our entire criminal race.

Boss, deeply terrified, convinced Elias not to worry about any threat.

"Look," he said, "no one can ever stop us from what we are doing. Even the Army can't stop us, so who is this mythical hero you sense coming to destroy us? Forget about that, Elias; let's keep this up. One day, we will take over Goldenville. Trust me, Elias, trust me."

"I hope so, Boss, I hope so…" Elias said in the end.
