A week later, Boss organized his soldiers in the defense headquarters. The three soldiers he organized were Bruce, James, and Owen. After they all got into Boss's office, Boss locked the door.
"Fred is dead," Boss started. "We need a new soldier to head this army. Would you like to take over, James?"
"I'm sorry, sir, I'm not trustworthy," James replied.
"How about you, Bruce?" he asked the other soldier.
"I wish I could, but I'm not fit for the position, I'm afraid," Bruce replied.
Boss turned to the last soldier.
"Owen? Can you do the job?" he asked Owen.
"So you'll kill me as you killed Fred, eh?" replied Owen boldly.
"What?" Boss exclaimed.
Owen began, "Look, we all know you killed Fred and threw his body into the bushes, you traitor!"
"How dare you accuse me of what I did not do!" exclaimed Boss.
He pulled out a gun from his suit and shot Owen. Bruce and James rushed to Owen's body.
It was now clear to them.
"You wicked man!" Bruce shouted. "Look, we all know you killed Fred. Everybody must hear about this to stay away from you! You traitor!"
As Bruce turned to leave, Boss, who was still holding his smoking gun, shot him and killed him. James, who was the last man standing, was shocked; his mouth was wide open in surprise and fear.
Boss then turned to James.
"Will you also join them to accuse me?" he asked James.
James replied, "No, sir. You know I always stand by you."
"Good," Boss replied.
As Boss turned his back on him, James pulled out a pistol, intending to shoot Boss from behind, but Boss caught him before he could even pull the trigger. Immediately, Boss took James's life by shooting him as well. At this time, three dead bodies lay in Boss's office.
Some officers who were outside Boss's office heard the gunshots and tried to open the door, but Boss had locked it from the inside. They banged on the door but to no avail.
Boss escaped from his office through the sewage system after he hid the bodies.

Two days after the incident, Boss headed for the enemies' secret cave. The enemies had a secret headquarters. Boss, somehow, got to know about it and the location. It lay behind a broken-down vehicle where a small hole happened to be the passage.
When Boss arrived, he met two young men standing at the entrance.
"Who are you looking for?" the first man asked.
"Who are you, in the first place?" asked the other man, even before Boss could answer the first question.
"I'm the leader of the Goldenville District Army. I go by the name Boss. I'm here to see your leader," Boss replied, addressing the two questions thrown at him.
The men wanted to be sure. "Who is our leader?" one of them asked.
"Elias," Boss replied confidently.
The men looked at each other. One of them went inside and came back again after two minutes.
"Come in," one of the men signaled and ushered Boss into the cave, where Boss got to meet the master in charge of the bad guys.
"What do you want from me, Boss?" the master of the bad guys, whose name was Elias, said.
Boss began to explain: "For the past few months, I have fought against you enemies of the state, but then, I had desired to join you to manipulate this city. The position I was given in this city weighed down my plans until I finally succeeded in killing the head of the Army recently." He continued, "I also killed three of my men to cover up what I did. Take this to show that I'm serious."
He dropped an envelope on the table. The other men surrounding him were curious to know what was inside. Elias opened the envelope and saw a lot of cash. His eyes shone.
He looked up at Boss.
"What's this for?" he asked, pointing at the envelope.
"It's a sign of agreement between us," Boss replied.
Elias looked at Boss for a while. He was trying to see if Boss was trustworthy.
"Thousands of my men were killed by your army. How am I sure I can trust you?" Elias asked.
"I killed my men to join you, plus the cash. If I go against this agreement, you can do anything you want to me," Boss convinced.
Elias kept quiet for a few seconds; then he smiled and shook hands with Boss.
"Welcome to the team," Elias remarked. "Be sure that all your actions never exceed this cave. Your actions and your secrets are safe with me and my boys."
Afterward, Boss left the cave for his office.

About fourteen to fifteen years later, Boss, in coalition with the enemies of the state, terrorized the city of Goldenville and even beyond. The U.S. Army could not stop them, nor could the police. This continued until Jaden Batson was sixteen.
His mother was growing old and a little weaker. She had a certain illness that made her weak for some time.
Jordan, Jaden's brother, had not yet shown up. He was maybe waiting for Jaden to be mature enough.
One certain day, Jaden was in the living room with his mother when they heard terrific noises. It was the sound of gunshots.
"It's them. Stay down!" ordered Mavis, who advised her son to be careful.
"What's going on out there?" Jaden asked, who was very curious at this point.
"The men who killed your father," Mavis told him.
When Jaden heard that, he was determined. He told his mom that he wanted to hide in his room, and his mom allowed him to, but Jaden had something else in mind.
He got into his room, opened the window, and said to himself, "If those are the men who killed my father, then I won't let them get away with it."
With this determination, he jumped out of the window and landed in the middle of the road.
