Location: Epsilon Eridani system, Reach, ONI Medical station Endurance
Third Person POV
Inside a room that has a large mirror on the wall with a table behind it, we see Doctor Halsey, Chief Mendez and Lieutenant Leroy standing while examining what looks to be Tyler's belongings on the table which included his fifteen hundred pounds which were kept alongside his Driver's license which had his name and DOB which dated September 21, 2007, Edinburgh, UK meaning he was born about 500 years ago, and house keys, his phone and ipod were kept separate and finally his George cross, Sandhurst Military academy badge and his father's Victoria cross were kept in another group, Déjà then appears on the holographic tank that was next to the table.
"So believe any of this stuff" asked Mendez not believing at what he was looking at.
"Only one way to find out" said Halsey looking through the Mirror to the other end where Tyler was seated on a couch still unconscious.
"I've completed the analysis of his blood Doctor" said Déjà.
"What have you found?" asked Halsey.
"His DNA doesn't match anything in our records and I can't find any mention of Tyler Williams on Earth or any other colony, but I did find something. interesting. I'm uploading it on your data pad now" said Déja.
Halsey picked up her data pad that was on the table and accessed the information Déjà had sent her, in it was a picture of Tyler which was copied from his driver's license that was kept in his wallet, and bellow it was a picture of Tyler's DNA profile with several stands highlighted.
"Oh my God" said Halsey under her breath with her eyes slightly widened.
Lieutenant Leroy also decides to take a look at what Halsey as looking at, as Leroy took a small look his eyes widened as well. "What the hell, are you sure this is correct, Déjà?" asked Leroy taken aback.
"Everything on the data pad has been cross checked about three times, Lieutenant, I can assure you it is one hundred percent correct" said Déjà.
"These genetics, I have never seen such perfect genes, not even my Spartans have such amazing genetics, this...this is a one of a kind" said Halsey...while her SPARTANs were all ne in a million or even hundred million...this type of gene...it could be once in a lifetime.
"Ahem, now are we just going to ignore the items that he was carrying?" said Mendez with a cough.
Halsey and Leroy both look at him both having regained their composure from the slight shock at the sight of Tyler's DNA, "Déjà can you identify the...electronics he was carrying" asked Halsey examining the Iphone and Ipod which were kept separate from the other items.
"Well I have identified the communications device as a mobile phone called Samsung Galaxy S24 and the other device which is a media player called an Ipod, both from an electronics company called Samsung and Apple respectively, companies that existed in the 21st century" said Déjà, Halsey looks at Déjà with a perplexed look.
"So we're dealing with a time traveler?" said Mendez, "I find that hard to believe, wasn't it that Einstein guy who said it was impossible?"
"He said it was improbable but not entirely impossible, and I don't think that's the case here" said Halsey.
"What do you mean by that Doctor?" asked Mendez but Leroy answered.
"You said he knew both of your names. Now how could he have access to classified information?"
"Exactly so as soon as he wakes up I intent to ask him that" said Halsey, "Now... onto the other things he was carrying" Halsey looked at the other group of items which had the Victoria Cross, George cross and badge of the Royal Military academy of Sandhurst.
Both Mendez and Leroy also shift their gaze towards the medals and the badge, "Aren't those medals used by the militaries in the 21st century?" asked Mendez as he leaned a bit forwards to have a better looK.
"Correct Chief Mendez, those are in fact medals awarded to the personals of the British Military of the 21st century, I have identified the Medals as the Victoria Cross, the highest ranking military award that is awarded to a soldier in the British military, next is the George Cross second only to the Victoria cross in terms of prestige and is the highest award that a soldier and a civilian can receive for gallantry not in the presence of an enemy" said Déjà.
"How does he have these Medals? Was he perhaps a part of the British Military?" asked Leroy while taking a closer look at the Victoria Cross.
"If he is could we be dealing with a war hero or something?" asked Mendez, "His skills both in close quarters and with weapons has already convinced me that he is not to be underestimated, already 6 security guards are in the infirmary because of him"
"I think this badge here can answer our questions." said Halsey while looking at the badge of the Royal Military academy of Sandhurst with its motto Serve to Lead written on the bottom. "Déjà"
"Yes Doctor, I have identified it as the badge of the Royal Military academy of Sandhurst where British military personals apply to become officers"
said Déjà.
"So we ARE dealing with a soldier then?" asked Mendez.
"Let's ask him personally" said Halsey who looked through the mirror to see Tyler waking up,
"Lieutenant Do you have the stuff ready just in case?"
Leroy sighs and say's, "It's all readied up, Doctor I don't think this is a good idea."
Halsey without answering starts heading towards the door that leads inside the room where Tyler is currently held in, both Leroy and Mendez also follow her inside with Leroy sighing before entering.

As Tyler woke up he found himself in a couch with a metal table and chairs in front of him, Was it all really a dream' Tyler thought before looking around the room that he was in. On the wall was a large mirror which he could tell was a one way, meaning it was a cell he was in, 'Fuck, am I in the police station or something...guess they found me drunk like an average irish man...
Before Tyler could really look inside he noticed the door open and he saw three people enter and to his dismay two of them were familiar, "That was quite the move you did there Tyler" said Halsey who sat on the chair in the centre, Chief Mendez took the one on her left and the other guy who was wearing a black uniform and what looked like the insignia of a Lieutenant took the one on her right.
"I guess this really isn't a dream the, damn my neck hurts" said Tyler while holding the place where he karate chopped himself in the neck, "So, what is it that you want, I noticed my things are missing from my pocket so l assume you have it?"
"Quite perceptive I see, yes your belongings are with us and safe, now I would like you to answer some questions" said Halsey to which Tyler nods, "So how did you exactly end up here Tyler?"
"Well like I said before I was just walking out of an alley way in Edinburgh when suddenly a bright light covered my vision and I ended up here, if you want to know the date and all, it was October 7, 2023" said Tyler, "How are the guards that I shot and injured? I hope I didn't accidently kill them."
"They are in the infirmary, I must say you took down those 5 guards with precision" said Leroy the one in the black uniform with the insignia of a lieutenant.
"Alright now next question, how do you know who we are or how did know our names?" asked Halsey.
'Oh boy, now how do I even tell this to them' Tyler thought, but he finally decided on a way, "Well I don't really know I to explain this without breaking your mind or confusing you"
"Go on" said Halsey.
"You see from where I come from you and the Spartans...well"
"Yes" she urged.
"Well they're..... fictional characters from a series of video games, books, animation series, movies and....TV series, to simplify it...you're not supposed to be real from where I come from, fictional you could say" Tyler said in a nervous tone.
Halsey didn't know whether to be shocked or just confused at what Tyler just revealed, "So you are telling me that we are some sort of entertainment to you?" said Halsey.
"Well that's one way to put it" Tyler answered.
Halsey then decided to look at the other two sitting next to her, Mendez had his expressionless face like always, whereas Leroy looked dumbfounded.
"Tyler, I'm sorry but your story seems a little far fetched." said Halsey.
"If you want I can prove it" Tyler said and thought, 'Come on Tyler this is your time to shine with halo lore as Tyler continued to think about anything that could possibly help him in this situation, he remembered something from Halo: Fall of Reach the book and animated series.
"Alright, so in August 10, 2517 you went to the outer colony of Eridanus Il to interview and observe your first Candidate for the Spartan Program named John or John 117, you played a game with him where you offered him a coin if he were to guess all the flips right, oh yes and you were escorted by one Lieutenant Jacob Keys who you told to pre-"
"Stop that would be enough" said Halsey cutting Tyler off, "I believe you"
"You do?!" Tyler and Leroy said in unison.
"Tyler let me get this straight; you said before you got transported here you were blinded by a bright light?" Halsey asked
"Basically, for more specification the colour of the light was blue" Tyler said.
"I think I understand what is going on" said Halsey. "You've somehow been transported to what is known as...."
"An alternate universe, I know, never thought it was possible" Tyler said while thinking, 'Holy bloody Mary this is some fanfiction shit happening here.'
"I see I don't have to explain much" said Halsey, "Now I have to know how much knowledge you posses"
"What's the year and Date Doctor?" Tyler asked
"March 11, 2525, 03:11 pm now, you came here at March 10, 2525, 21:00" Halsey said
'2525' Tyler Thought then he remembered exactly what happened in this particular year. "You've lost contact with Harvest right?"
"That's right" Leroy said, "That's classified information we were about to sent a scout ship to determine why"
"DON'T BLOODY DO IT!" Tyler screamed as he got up from the couch in an instant, "If you are sending something to check Harvest out, then you need to send a bloody armada of 50 warships then, all rated cruisers or above, and armed with fucking SHIVAs and FENRIs or something"
"Whoa whoa, slow down there, what's the matter to have you all spooked out" Leroy said.
Then Tyler goes on to explain the whole Human-Covenant war and how and why it started and the consequences it would bring onto humanity.
"And that's why you need to send a bloody armada to even take Harvest back" Tyler said.
Both Halsey and Leroy had widened eyes as Tyler ended, Mendez however still kept his calm and expressionless face although inside even he was disturbed by Tyler's explanation.
"So you're telling us these Aliens declared war on us because we are an affront to their Gods?" Leroy asked.
"Well to the people who lead them that is, the other species simply got themselves manipulated by them" Tyler said.
"And they do this by destroying our worlds?" Halsey asks
"Well not yet... but that's why you need to sent an Armada to save Harvest or el." Tyler said before being cut off by Leroy.
"Alright that's enough Tyler, you're going to have to stop telling us our future" Leroy said.
"What?" Both Tyler and Halsey said in unison.
"Doctor, with me, outside now, Chief you stay with the kid" Leroy instructed to which Mendez nodded.
Halsey got up from her chair along with Leroy and followed him outside the room, before he could speak, Halsey immediately pinned him towards a wall, "What the hell are you thinking, Lieutenant! That boy could possibly save millions if what he says is true!" Halsey yelled. Luckily, the door to the interrogation room was shut and the entire room was sound proof.
"Look Doctor, I'm trying to save his and our lives and possibly future...I am very familiar with theories related to time travel and alternate universes, and let me tell you, one wrong move and everything goes to hell." Leroy explained as Halsey loosened her grip and released him.
"Well, we can't just hand him over to ONI now, what he's telling only further cements what I'm about to offer him" She said with a sigh, "Lieutenant, how long until Naval intelligence sends some actual interrogators?"
"Actually...l didn't inform them, yet" Leroy answered which gained a surprised look from Halsey, "Right as I was about to send the report, Déjà informed me that you and the Chief had made first contact with...Tyler...so I rushed over with the marines"
Halsey's eyes widened a bit, but she quickly composed herself and cleared her throat, "Then it gives us the opening. Lieutenant, this is our one and only chance...I want to know if you're in?" she asked.
"If it means Humanity may have a chance...then yes" Leroy said.
"Then let's get back inside, we'll have to be quick with this" Halsey said as she took the lead this time.
Tyler watched as Halsey returned with the guy in black uniform, both of them took their seats once more and the black uniform guy cleared his throat and spoke up, "Well Tyler, me and Doctor have come to a decision...you're going to have your knowledge to yourself"
Before Tyler could actually even process what he said, Halsey added her own explanation, "Tyler, listen very carefully, you have the knowledge to our future, and if you tell those things right now, there could be some dire consequences...time is something I'm sure from where you come from is still not figured out. Neither it is here."
"Right...so what am I supposed to do, sit here, get sent to a mental rehab as a crazy person or for god sake, ONI?" Tyler questioned, at this point Halsey wasn't even surprised that he knew practically almost everything about the UNSC.
"On that matter" Halsey said, "You have two choices, one, I could hand you over to ONI and they will probably squeeze every Intel out of you and treat you like an insurrectionist as there is no records of you."
'That's comforting' Tyler thought', "What a way to start" Tyler said sarcastically.
"Or two, I could sneak you into the Spartan program and you could serve humanity and use your knowledge about the....Covenant and save lives that way" Halsey said.
'Did I fucking hear that right' Tyler thought while his face was in disbelief. "Wait wait, me a Spartan?"
Aren't they supposed to be genetically perfect or near perfect too even survive augmentation?" Tyler said.
"Yes that would be correct, but you, Tyler, your genes are prefect, like I have never seen such genes not even my Spartans have genes similar to yours" Halsey explained.
Tyler was surprised and dumbfounded, 'Perfect genes, me? How do I even have such genes? I don't remember ever being any special in anything other than playing and fighting or shooting guns' Tyler thought. "Alright, let's say I agree to this but I still have the possibility of not surviving augmentations?" Tyler asked.
"Technically that would be the case" Halsey said making Tyler nervous. "But because of your perfect genes you may have a higher chance of survival"
'Well I guess that's good, but still I could die' Tyler thought. "But why me other than my genes, I don't even know if I have the necessary training to even become a spar-" Tyler said before being cut off my Chief Mendez.
"That's bullshit and you know it" Mendez said surprising Tyler as this was the first time he spoke since he entered the room. "Son, I have seen many marines over the years and I will tell you none of them were as good in combat both in close and ranged like you"
Tyler was now taken aback, 'did...did Chief Mendez just compliment me?' Tyler thought.
"Hell I'll say even you could beat the Spartans in a one v one. You'd probably be one of the top Spartans" Mendez said.
"Thanks...l guess" Tyler said not sure what to think about what Mendez just said, 'I could beat a Spartan.... no...absolutely not' Tyler thought.
"So are you in" Halsey asked.
Tyler thought for a moment as this could possibly decide his future in the Halo universe, 'Damn, if I go with option one I'll probably never see the light of day again, and if I go with option two I could become a Spartan but I could also die..... screw it I'll take my chances with option two' "Bloody hell, I am in" Tyler said to which Halsey briefly smiled.
After Tyler said that, Leroy then handed Halsey a file, which she then passed it over to Tyler who then grabbed it and opened it and started reading it.
"I have already prepared a fake identity for you with the help of Deja" Halsey explained. "Your new identity will be Tyler Ruddick Willingham born in Luna, August 21, 2509, at the age of 6 both your parents died at a tragic accident which was caused by the insurrectionist on Eridanus Il as they were a part of a civilian shipping crew, in 2525 at the age of 15 you were conscripted into the Spartan II program by me due to your unique genetics and skills in combat that you had self taught yourself."
"Wait a second! Why does it say adopted by Doctor Catherine Halsey?" Tyler asked confused on reading that.
"Ah yes, as to more easily hide your true identity, and to more easily get you inside the Spartan II program I decide to adopt you" Halsey explained.
Tyler looked at her with disbelief, 'First I get transported to the halo universe, next I am offered to become a Spartan and now I am Doctor Halsey's adopted Child!' Tyler thought screaming inside his mind.
"God, this...this was certainly unexpected" Tyler said.
"There is something else as well" Halsey said and motioned Leroy to hand her something, Leroy handed her a white brief case who then passed it over to Tyler, as Tyler opened the brief case inside revealed a black uniform with patches on the arms. The first was three red chevrons underneath a Phoenix standing over a cross of paired anchors, the insignia of a Petty officer First class. The other patch on the opposite arm was a bald eagle holding a cluster of arrows, the symbol of the Spartan Program.
Tyler then looked at the front and saw the name stitched on it, Tyler-071.
"A Petty officer First class? Why I don't think I am that good to be given that rank" Tyler said.
"The medals you were carrying certainly spoke that you were no ordinary kid" Halsey said.
"But-" Tyler was about to say but Leroy cut him off by saying.
"Alright enough talk now, I have a lot of work to do now as I have to register your fake identity and back story without being traced" Leroy cut him off.
"Well... thank you for your help, by the way I never got your name?" Tyler asked.
"Shouldn't you already know since you know pretty much everything that has happened and is about to happen" Leroy said confused.
"Well only the ones that were actually recorded or written you could say, I don't think you were mentioned even once, even in the books" Tyler said surprising Halsey and Leroy.
"I see, well to properly introduce myself, I am Lieutenant Benedict Leroy" Leroy said.
"Alright then, pleasure to meet you, sir" Tyler said already using military formalities to which Leroy grinned and left the room.
Then Chief Mendez stood up looking at Tyler with his stoic and expressionless face while Halsey also started to stand taking hold of the brief case.
"Well then....Spartan-071" Mendez said in a commanding tone.
Tyler hearing that he stood in attention and said. "Sir!"
Mendez gave him a small grin and said. "Prepare for augmentations"
